Is This Another Example Of Why You Cannot Trust The Media

Can we trust media?

It is important that we verify what we read. Media like newspapers and TV make money not from the consumer but from other sources (advertising, investors, own businesses, etc). I know several instances where reputed news media companies have not reported true facts. Here is the worst/first incident I witnessed many years ago in India.I worked in a very famous company in a large city. The work location had many buildings in a huge gated area. There was a fire in one floor of one office building. The office was well prepared for emergencies with fire alarms, regular employee drills and fire exits everywhere. Everyone in the building evacuated. It was early morning (about 8 AM), so there were not many people inside. The fire brigade arrived and started their work. Then the news crews arrived. Remember this was a huge office complex and the fire was in only one building and it was 8 AM? Employees were coming in to work.News cameramen blocked the office entrance. One news channel showed visuals of employees waiting to enter the office and reported that they were employees fearing their life & trying fleeing the fire. They just made sure the camera angle helped their story.Another reported that the whole location was under lock down, and it was a huge loss for the company (not true). One reporter pushed away security personnel, abused them and ran to the building where the fire was still raging. When he was caught and asked to leave he started shouting to his camera that he was being attacked. Later he complained in the news that the company was trying to use strong arm tactics to cover up the fire and “trying to hide the number of casualties“.There were no injuries or casualties. The fire was contained in 1 hour. It had damaged a few storage rooms. A common theme in all the news was that “casualties were not yet confirmed”. And then something else happened somewhere and this story was forgotten that same day evening.I stopped watching news in India after this incident. I have seen many other examples but I will never forget the lie that I saw reported, when I was standing 10 feet from the truth.

Do you trust the mainstream media?

The mainstream media has been very easily tricked.

Today's headlines support lie after lie just like yesterday's headlines.

So how can I prove the MSM is easily tricked? Show you the first piece of the puzzle to solving the biggest mystery in history that the MSM fools have missed for decades.

How much do you trust the mainstream media?

As much as Arvind Kejriwal's tweets.I'm not qualified to comment about other countries, but I do have an opinion as far as Indian media is concerned. The media these days is more about style than about substance; form over content. They indulge in sensationalizing stories, over-analyzing topics, making a mockery of debates and what not. The way some of the news channels conduct their talk shows seems like a war rather than a discussion, the host being the instigator. The so-called leading journos like Barkha Dutt, Rajdeep Sardesai, his wife, etc. can stoop to the lowest to defame the PM and destabilize the government just in the name of secularism. Hypocrisy is their biggest ally.A leading daily like the TOI has Kate Middleton's upskirt moment as its cover story rather than dire issues like droughts, education, etc.TRPs, hits, likes and clicks are what matter these days. Making a story out of simply nothing is the order of the day. Accusations and biased judgement rule the roost.

What are some examples of the media blowing things out of proportion?

for example stories where it may seem like a normal death but then the media starts throwing around controversial ideas about the death
other stories such as;
-conspiricy theories
-scandals
-celebrity stories etc etc

Why do the Chinese never trust foreign media but only trust Chinese media?

To tell you the truth, I don't believe in Western media, because Western media has taught me a profound lesson and suffered heavy losses. When I found out the deception of Western media, I stopped believing in Western media and turned to watch Chinese media specially. I could easily find the consistency of views of Chinese media and predict what would happen in China in the next few years. Then I could easily speed up my business. By analyzing the reliable information of Chinese media, I could always escape the business disaster smoothly every time. 。But if I believe in Western media, I will not be able to do business, let alone escape when disaster strikes. So I would rather believe in Chinese media than western media.Western media always tell you that China is about to collapse, believe it and you can't do anything. And the Chinese media will always tell you what will happen in five or ten years'time in China, and it's basically proven to be so every time. So, as a businessman, I can't believe the western media.Let me give you a few examples:When Chinese media say that investment is overheated, it means that low-tech projects cannot be invested. When the Chinese media say that China will greatly improve people's living standards, then I can invest in projects related to people's livelihood, such as infrastructure. When the Chinese media said that green mountains and rivers are wealth, I knew that I should invest in some environmental protection projects, absolutely not in high pollution projects. When the Chinese media said that the development of the western region, I knew that it was the right decision for me to build a factory or do business in the western region. When the Chinese media said that China and the Communist Party of China had decided to enhance their political mutual trust, I knew that there would be good results in doing business in which country. When the Chinese media issued travel warnings, it meant that the worst plan was to invest where to go, and if possible, to sell quickly and flee.

Why don't Americans trust the Federal Government?

Pew research says that 76% of Americans now distrust the Fed Gov, and only 25% think the Congress is doing a good job. So what gives?
Is it mirely economics and the high jobless rate?
Is it the apparent government apathy towards the folks and their concerns over Health Care, unemployment, and the obvious government smear and denigration of the Tea Partys?
Or is it deeper than that?
What happened to all the HOPE AND CHANGE that was supposed to take place?
Has it turned to frustration and FEAR that America's economy may collapse, or that our major industries will be regulated out of existence and the dollar become as worthless as the Peso?
But that's my take.
WHAT SAY YOU AMERICA?
Please opine with pithy comments from anywhere, even Rahm Emmanuel's office, anytimeanytime if so inclined. And when answering, p-lease, no lib diatribes and veneration of our worthless President allowed in the No Spin Zone.

Why should a company trust a social media marketing agency to do their marketing instead of someone doing it from their own office?

Why trust an agency instead of hiring someone in house? There's a lot of good reasons as to why you should just go with an agency, but I'll keep it short.Agencies are already in the know - they have experience and have probably worked with businesses similar to yours and already know the market.. while, when you hire someone there isn't many who have experience in the social media marketing field, so you'll have to do the training.. which brings up the next reason. You can't teach someone something you don't know - how are you supposed to hire someone and train them on something you don't even know about.. I mean maybe you could take time to learn it, or hope that they could learn it or even, possibly pay for them to take a course. But, after all that precious time and resources spent you aren't even guarenteed results..Agencies solve this problem. For example, I don't have an agency but I freelance and am looking to grow into an agency.Bonus: (warning: not all agencies do this, but the good ones do) some, like myself will guarentee results or else you get 100% money back.
