John Deere Tractor 1026 R

Why is my lawn mower blowing white smoke?

I’m going to give you ideas for a push type mower - small vertical shaft, 4 cycle engine.1. A lot of white smoke. Too much oil in the engine. Pull the dipstick and wipe it off with a paper towel/rag. Reinsert it, wait 5 seconds and the remove it. The proper oil level should when the oil in between the two marks on the end of the dip stick. If there is too much oil, change the oil and put in the correct amount based on your operators manual. (usually about 20 oz)2. Going up or down too steep a hill. If the oil is at the right level and the hill is too steep the oil may get into the cylinder/piston area and blow past the piston rings. This will cause white smoke and will quit when the engine is back on level.3. You engine is just wore out. If the smoke is more blue that pure white the engine may just be tired and needs to rebuilt or replaced. Check with your local mechanic to be sure.

What is the longest time it has ever taken you to reel in a fish?

How about the longest time to reel in the fish to the boat and still lose it?A long time ago husband Peter and his buddies Ken and Norm were avid Bluefin Tuna sport fishermen. He had an old sport fishing boat he called Sionel. One weekend during tuna season my father, sister and brother were staying with us, and we tagged along as spectators. When a tuna took the bait, the guys thought it would be a nice gesture to put me in the fighting chair. I wasn’t arguing, I was all for it.Now, landing a giant tuna isn’t the same as my experience fishing in a rowboat on our little lake. You’re really hooked up to a living being that behaves more like a John Deere tractor. The skipper, husband Peter, had the hardest job (so he says ;D ) - tiring that very large fish until it is so exhausted one can bring it alongside the boat where one of the guys could safely gaff it to bring it aboard. I was in that chair for more than 5 hours. The fishing rod was tethered to me, but I wasn’t tethered to anything. My sister stood behind the fighting chair to turn it to keep the line from rod to fish in as straight a line as possible. She also had to hold onto me sometimes when the fish made another of its attempt to swim away with me still holding onto the rod.Time after time we got the fish close to the stern of the boat, though it didn’t seem as tired as it needed to be to bring it into the boat, and when the fish caught sight of the boat it mustered strength and “zoomed” (best word I can come up with) away from the boat. Finally, Ken thought he could control the fish until Norm could gaff it - holding onto the leader to bring the fish up a bit. And then suddenly the fish was gone! Nothing on the line! Pulled it in, and the #%#^%$ hook was no longer hook-shaped. It was straight! This was no little bass or trout hook. This was what is sold as a “big game tarpon and tuna” hook, 10/0.Huge letdown. I never did land a tuna on a fishing trip. But I loved the hunt.
