Are Bajaj bikes generally low in durability as opposed to the famed longevity of Hero bikes (especially Splendor) and the famed engineering of Yamaha or Suzuki bikes?

I own a Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi since 2008. Now my bike completed 10 years earlier this month and has clocked over 1,15,000 kms.I am mostly a tourer and have traveled to many places across Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana states in these 10 years including many trips over 1000 kms. So I can definitely answer this question.Bajaj bikes are definitely not known for longetivity that Hero/Honda bikes offer. But if taken care correctly, these bikes can be with you forever. And trust me, maintaining a Bajaj bike is much cheaper than Yamaha or Honda bikes (wont include Hero in this).I took care of my bike as if it were my baby. As with all company’s authorised service centers, even the Bajaj ones are equally bad. So I hooked up with a local mechanic and I do all my bike servicings over his garage only.I have ripped my bike to its full potential for 100s of kms in some trips (talking about 100 + speed) )and even my city commutes are pretty revy in nature. In short, I rode pretty hard and I had to open its engine block more than once. I had to change the chain sprockets multiple times. But the bike always delivered when it mattered and brought me back home, always.Talking about on trip issues, only one major issue that I can recall was that during my ride to Murudeshwar, the rectifier unit gave way and my bike only has electric starter and no kick starter. So for most of my trip, I had to push start my bike which was mild pain in the ass I would say. But hey, this can happen to any bike that has no kick starter. But whenever on a major tour or a long trip, never once I faced any problem related to engine, spark plug, carburetor or any such component that might make me stop my trip and hitch a truck ride back home.So you see, Bajaj bikes are pretty reliable, durable and have long life if you can take proper care.Happy riding!Red Stallion somewhere in Western Ghats.

Do girls prefer their boyfriend riding a cruising bike or sports bike?

Aahhh!!!Thats not a question you ask a biker. Its more of psychological question that too related to women. Really hard to answer. And you will not get any perfect answer.Still as requested I will try putting my opinion.Girls love power over beauty. Girls love social status of a guy. Girls love money. Girls love men over guys. Thats all observed psychological facts. May not be true for particular.By that I think Cruiser bikes are comparatively more powerful, stable and mature bikes. The kind of social status Bullets have I don't think R15 or Pulsurs will ever get.So somewhere I feel Cruiser Bikes are more likely get likes from girls. But thats no fact but just an opinion. And if you are buying bike then dont think what girls like. Buy what you are comfortable with.Ride Safe.Cheers!!

2 stroke dirtbike transmission oil?

I have a KTM 360 2stroke dirtbike..... the manufacturer recommends i use SAE 30 oil... some people, including the dealership, told me to use honda hp trans oil, which is SAE 80w/85W..... is this OK or will it mess up the bike? Also, why are they telling me to run this thicker oil?
