Laptop Doesnt Recognize Sound Card

Computer doesn t recognize headphones?

My headphones were working fine plugged into the front jack of my desktop and all of a sudden they don't work. In Windows control panel it shows them as enabled but not plugged in (they are plugged in...) At first, I thought something must be wrong with the jack, but they don't work in the rear jack either. I tried it with another pair and it's the same thing, so I think I may be missing a setting... (My regular speakers are working fine...)

LG Rumor Touch not recognizing memory card?

I just got an LG Rumor Touch phone from virgin mobile and am trying to use the memory card so I can use it as an mp3 player. I got a microsd card and it fits in there fine. I put the card in the adapter and then in the computer and my laptop recognizes it just fine. but if I go to anything where the phone needs a memory card it says "please insert memory card" and doesn't recognize that there is one in. It is pushed in all the way. How can I fix this?
Thank You!

I can't hear any sound from my laptop?!?

Yesterday I was able to play music and listen to sounds on my laptop, but today I can't. Idk what's wrong. The volume is not muted, its all the way up. I troubleshooted the device and there were no issues. I am using Windows XP, can anyone help me??

How do I check which sound card my computer has in Windows 10?

2 ways:Right click on the start button. Select “Device Manager”. Check under “Sound, video and game controllers”.Type “msinfo32” in Cortana box. This open the “System Information” app. Check under “Components->Sound Device”.

Why doesn’t the mic port on my Windows 10 laptop detect anything and continue to use the built-in mic?

I had the same issue in my Dell Inspirion 15–7568. I have MaxxWaves Pro Audio, or something like that.It ended up that my software was corrupted and I simply had to uninstall and reinstall the audio driver software.Method 1:Before you uninstall, make sure that you can find a new copy of the updated drivers (usually found on the manufacturer’s website). Then proceed to uninstall, then install the new copy of the driver. Once completed, RESTART. Not Shut Down or Sleep, but RESTART.Your drivers are generally found in the Device Manager. Press the Windows key and type in “Device Manager” and tap enter. You should find the drivers. Scroll down to the “Audio” section. Select the driver(s) you need to uninstall. Right-click and select uninstall. (Go to the above paragraphs to refer back to some info.)Method 2:In order for this to work successfully, you must have a stable decently fast internet connection, for the installation to finish ASAP.If you do not want to do that, then you can do something similar, where you just simply uninstall the audio driver and SHUT DOWN your laptop/pc. Once it is fully off, make sure you let it rest for 1–3 minutes (just in case it has an overheating issue, if not ignore this step and move on), then turn your laptop/PC back on and Windows 10 should locate the missing driver and automatically install it. Once completed, your PC/Laptop is ready to go!!!Stay Smart, Not Dumb-YogiLeave a Upvote if this helped and sorry if some parts are jumbled around. My laptop wont recognise my iomega portable hard drive?

Do you hear a clicking sound, or a scratching sound? Noises? Like a hard drive normally operating?

The controller on that card may have gone bad, if it is no longer under warranty open it and put it into a PC to see if it can still be read if not, you are out of luck and will have to buy a new one.

Can hp [compaq] nc400 laptop use a sata hard drive?

i can understand your euphoria upgrading your laptop. but almost everybody upgrading a laptop forget a very important thing - the internal power module - that part isn't designed to power even more memory, bigger hard disks, external USB devices, PCMCIA cards a.s.o., sooner or later that internal power module will be fried.

specs of the nc4000 laptop
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quick...

concerning your 2 questions:
for the hard disk i strongly recommend NOT to go for a 7200rpm disk, they need too much power. a 5400rpm disk is fast enough and you will hardly notice any difference compared with a 7200rpm disk. futhermore the above specs say the maximum size is 60GB, 5400rpm, but maybe with a BIOS upgrade it's possible to go to 80 or 100GB.
this laptop doesn't support SATA drives, it uses normal 2.5" IDE drives

the graphics and sound cards aren't upgradeable because they are integrated on the mainboard.
