Where can I find Dante's list of demons?
Dante's Commedia names twelve demons, I think: Malacoda, Barbariccia, Scarmiglione, Ciriatto, Cagnazzo, Farfarello, Calchabrina, Draghignazzo, Libicocco, Rubicante, Alchino and Graffiacane. Only one of the most famous literary works of all time. 700 years old and people still read it daily. Not bad for a book you're not forced to read.
Which types of demons seem the most interesting?
Just to clarify, I am not crazy. This is for a novel I am writing. There are several types of demons, and I'm trying to decide how to separate them. Before I was considering giving them different types of elements or qualities. Example: -Fire demons -Storm demons -Smoke demons -Spectral demons -Aquarian demons -Chaos demons -Serpentine demons Now it has occurred to me to make seven different castes of demons based on the seven deadly sins. I would try to make up names for these breeds of demons based the names on Latin roots or a list I found written in the year 590 A.D. Example: -Luxi (lust) -Gulae (gluttony) -Avari (greed) -Irae (wrath) -Invidi (envy) -Superbi or Hubri (pride) Yeah, I know there are a lot of made up words and stuff and tons of details I'd have to work out, but just as a starting point, which system makes the most sense?

What are the different type of ghosts in Hinduism, Christianity and Islam? Are there any distinctions between ghosts, demons and monsters? If yes should they always have to be religion specific? If no can anyone name culture-less religion-less ghost?
I have had experience with astral beings.Ghosts are departed humans. If they don't "go to the light" they can wander about on the astral plane and do much harm by haunting a human. If the human is open enough they can influence them and in extreme cases can create a Dylann Roof who murdered nine people. One problem with executing murderers is we are releasing a malevolent human being onto an unwitting population.They can shower their anger on vulnerable people and create much distress. Their haunting can confuse a hapless human who will become spacey and confused. This happens a lot.They can also help people such as a parent who returns to help guide their children however a controlling parent may continue trying to control their child and mislead them. My parents helped me after they passed on.Demons are astral beings who are the opposite of Angels and just as Angels are here to help they are here to perpetuate Evil. Both Angels and Demons serve a purpose and have a right to their existence. Demons do not haunt or communicate the same way as a ghost does but instead develop projects to bring down humans. The board game Demons and Dungeons was demon inspired as a way to seduce children to the dark side. Communism was Demon driven. Unlike ghosts who merely hang out with their human demons can possess a human but only with the human’s cooperation. The Exorcist was a work of fiction, that’s not how it happens. Demons disappeared about the same time as the Soviet Union fell and appear to be gone.Thought forms are created by humans and some can become quite powerful and intelligent. The Greek and Roman Gods, for instance, were thought forms. They can be long lived but if ignored eventually dissipate.Thoughtforms can assume countless shape and sizes. They can have the intelligence of an insect and up. They are usually parasitic and dark and may latch onto a vulnerable human such as a drug addict and cause considerable distress and damage.There may be other astral beings that I am unaware of.
What are inner demons?
An inner demon is something that you personally struggle with in your own mind. It could be created by a situation that led you to believe you need to hide a part of you and you in turn act differently to seem alright, or it could be caused by circumstances that make you feel an underlying belief that limits you.The limiting and/or depressive (negative) nature of inner demons is what gives their name meaning. It is an inner belief, set of ideas or understanding about life that when talked about seems easy for others to deal with, but when trying to work around it yourself, manifest past it or just try to be alone with it, you feel you are at war with your own mind. Many have demons and finally break through them, while some never do. It is always something that one must understand and repair on their own, as it is in their mind alone that the war rages. No matter the supportive and obvious words of others, we fight the battle alone and win by our own mind’s strength and ingenuity.When we eliminate our demons, we seem to have better inner dialog and feel better at negotiating life’s innate difficulties. When in control, your demon causes you to feel ill at ease and constantly bothered no matter where you end up in society. Rich or poor inner demons are not always seen by everyone or anyone. Monsters/Demon List anyone?
I'm trying to find different demons/monsters to put into my story that I'm writing. I want creepy monsters and if possible please attach links or photos to things. I've got the typical stuff: ghouls, goblins, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, witches. But im looking for more detailed monsters or demons that have scary qualities. Please answer as quickly and as best as you can:)
