Math Homework Question.?

(3/(c+1) + 1) / (1/(c+3) + 1)

Multiply the top and bottom by (c+1). This gets rid of the fractions up top.
(c+1)(3/(c+1) + 1) / (c+1)(1/(c+3) + 1)
(3 + (c+1)) / (c+1)(1/(c+3) + 1)
(4 + c) / (c+1)(1/(c+3) + 1)
(c+4) / ((c+1)/(c+3) + (c+1))

Now multiply the top and bottom by (c+3). This gets rid of the fractions on the bottom.
(c+4)(c+3) / ((c+1)/(c+3) + (c+1))(c+3)
(c+4)(c+3) / [ (c+1) + (c+1)(c+3) ]

Simplify the bottom:
(c+4)(c+3) / [ (c+1) + (c^2 + 4c + 3) ]
(c+4)(c+3) / [ c^2 + 5c + 4 ]
(c+4)(c+3) / [ (c+4)(c+1) ]

You can cancel a c+4 from the top and bottom to get
(c+3) / (c+1)

This is as far as you can simplify it.

Math homework question?

I think the printer would be $350, meaning you saved $70.

You figure this out because:
$280 is 80% of x

so 280=.8x , and when you divide 280 by .8 to get x by itself, you get 350.

the answer before me is incorrect, because they found 80% off the new price.

Math Homework Question?

A kangeroo in a single hop, can reach a maximum height of 9 feet. The equation can be used to determine h, the height in feet of the kangeroo's leap from the ground after t seconds.
h=-16t^+24t

How many seconds would it take for the kangeroo to reach the maximum height from the ground?

A .25 sec
B .75 sec
C 1.5 sec
D 1.75 sec

The skating surface of a city's rectangular ice skating rink is 85 fet by 200 feet. Which is the closet to the diagonal length of the skating rink?

A 217 feet
B 285 feet
C 434 feet
D 570 feet

A few math homework questions?

1. 1, 3, 11, 33.

2. 22 * 13 = 286 square miles, because length times width equals area.

For problems 3 and 4, you can use the Order of Operations, which is easy to memorize by:
Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally
Parentheses
Exponents
Multiplication, Division
Addition, Subtraction

3. 13, because 8-3 = 5, 5/5 = 1, 1*2 = 2, 9-2 = 7, 7+6 = 13.

4. 13, because 12-4 = 8, 8/2 = 4, 4+4 = 8, 5+8 = 13.

Math homework question? Grade 8.?

Ok here it is:

Jimmy tore a piece of paper into 3 parts. He tore each part into 3 more parts. if Jimmy repeated this action 12 times in total, how many pieces of paper would he have?

The answer at the back of the book says "531 441 pieces of paper". But I can't figure out how they got to that. Our unit is called "Calculating Powers".

Math Homework question help me please?

(1 pt) Each expression simplifies to a constant, a single trigonometric function or a power of a trigometric function. Use fundamental identities to simplify each expression.
NOTE: The argument of the trig functions must be in parentheses (e.g. sin(x)).
Can you please show the work on how its done!!???

Math homework question okay so I got most of the steps but I'm a bit confused one the last two steps...I was wondering if someone could?

Explain it to me. How did we get 2.3 +/-1.65 which is the zip score to 2.3+/-0.04m and how did we get 2.26 and 2.34. As the final score. I tried using my calculator to solve it but I'm having a hard time.
