Mood Of This Poem Help

How do you set the tone and mood of a poem?

I think poetry is a “product” of your “Mood” & the tone of your “mood” decides the tone of the poetry .Poetry is nothing but reflections of a person's “mood” explained in a poetic manner .& “Mood” is created by your surroundings & situations ,sometimes music & liquor or a good news helps a person to get into a desired mood.I know some poets who can't write without a drink or smoke , when asked they said “ iske bina mood nahi banta” (I don't get the desired mood without these things )Some poet needs some lonely space to get into a certain mood .I think “mood” is the most neglected word in terms of it's meaning & never taken seriously . This small single word explains a LOT about our different states of mind .

What is the tone and mood of this poem?

can someone help me? What is the tone and mood of this poem, Democracy by Langston Hughes.

Democracy will not come
Today, this year
Nor ever
Through compromise and fear.

I have as much right
As the other fellow has
To stand
On my two feet
And own the land.

I tire so of hearing people say,
Let things take their course.
Tomorrow is another day.
I do not need my freedom when I’m dead.
I cannot live on tomorrow’s bread.

Freedom
Is a strong seed
Planted
In a great need.

I live here, too.
I want freedom
Just as you.

Thanks so much.

What mood is this poem?

Alliteration is when you use words that have the same letter, or sounds:
-The Big Blue Belgua Belched Beautifully.... would be an example of alliteration. The poem's emphasis is "I Shall Not Live In Vain", of which she repeats more than once for strong emphasis on how she is feeling. I would have to say i get a vibe of determination, perhaps lamenting? From the way the narrator writes, its almost like they are at a point in life where they feel they're life isn't as fruitful as they would like it to be... they're probably asking questions like 'Am I doing this right", or "Where is my life headed"? I love this poem too.

Whats the mood of this poem?

Pied beauty

Glory be to God for dappled things--
For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches' wings;
Landscape plotted and pieced--fold, fallow, and plough;
And áll trádes, their gear and tackle and trim.
All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change: Praise Him.

whats the mood of this poem plz people i need help? Is there any shift in the poem? Thanks for helping :) !

What is the mood and tone of the poem "The Butterfly" by Pavel Friedmann?

Obviously Friedmann is using metonym when referring to the butterfly as the "last one." His sense of diction and word choice exudes a melancholy and almost hopeless tone which contributes to the bitterful mood of the poem. He uses butterflies, even expressing them as "So richly, brightly, dazzlingly yellow. Perhaps if the sun's tears would sing against a white stone... " to link them akin to hope. The butterflies being as dazzling as the sun's rays is symbolic of hope existing like a shine of light in the darkness during the darkest hours. However his last few lines are so melodramatic, it's almost haunting. It's foreshadowing the terrible events that occurred during the Holocaust and his own lost of conscience by acknowledging the devastation bought on by one of the most horrendous genocide committed upon humanity.

Homework help? What is the Subject and mood of this poem?

The subject matter is in the poem's title. Their is a resentful mood although it's not plainly stated that the author resented her mother. Her mother's house represents the attitude of her mother; the walls stood at attention, the air knew to hold its breath, the polished floor defied heel marks... The personification is plain in these opening observations and, given the subject matter, it seems plain that these are reflections of the author's mother. It would seem that her mother is very commanding, superior, serious. Two lines I think are very telling:

"crinkled in discomfort
in my mother's house"

It's not been named a childhood home, rather she's in (imagine italics) Her Mother's House.

What are the tone and mood of this poem? Examples of 2 sound devices?

I'm writing an essay about this poem so can you help me with tone, mood and 2 examples of sound devices? THANK YOU!
and here is the poem Sound of the Sea by Henry Longfellow:
The sea awoke at midnight from its sleep,
And round the pebbly beaches far and wide
I heard the first wave of the rising tide
Rush onward with uninterrupted sweep;
A voice out of the silence of the deep,
A sound mysteriously multiplied
As of a cataract from the mountain's side,
Or roar of winds upon a wooded steep.
So comes to us at times, from the unknown
And inaccessible solitudes of being,
The rushing of the sea-tides of the soul;
And inspirations, that we deem our own,
Are some divine foreshadowing and foreseeing
Of things beyond our reason or control.

"life"
By: James Russell Lowell

Life is a leaf of white paper
Whereon each one of us may write
His word or two; and then comes night.

Though thou have time
But for a line, be that sublime;
Not failure, but low aim, is a crime.
