Mtf Question For Hrt . I

Transitioning MTF HRT in high school?

Hi, I'm a 14-year-old student, currently attending my freshman year of high school. I'll be 15-years-old in the next few months!

So basically, throughout my life, I've always questioned my sex. (Ever since I was 4-5) I'm not going to get into much detail, because I'm going to see a APRN-BC tomorrow and discuss my transsexualism.

Basically, I want to know at what age can I start taking hormones in the state of Connecticut? How do I go about attending high school? What can I expect? How long can it take before I can get my hormones? Questions like that.

I'm not here to give a life story, so please don't try and question my gender identity based on my vague description. I can tell you my whole life story, but I'm not going to.

I want to know what it takes to transition in high school, as I am approaching Sophomore year. I need to know everything about the state of Connecticut's law about transitioning with HRT at a certain age. I want to start my testosterone blockers as soon as possible, and I can't even wait for estrogen.

What kind of doctors should I see besides an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse that is Board Certified. (She's a Psychiatric Nurse). She is experienced in the areas of Anxiety Disorders, Disruptive Behavior Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and Affective/Mood Disorders.

Do I need to see anyone besides the endocrinologist and my Physc. Nurse? What do I do regarding my transition in high school?

Once again, at what age in the state of Connecticut is the minimum requirement for transexual hormone replacement. (MTF).

Thank you Very Much!
xoxo

Does hrt MTF make your desire for men stronger? Does it give you a new kinks

Thank you for you A2A. This is an interesting question, one in which I am still exploring in my own life. All through my adolescent years I found I had absolutely zero sexual attraction to women. I mostly struggled with jealously wishing I was a girl like them. I do admit, I liked some guys and admired some of their masculine qualities but I never considered gay relationships. I was terrified of being like for that thing between my legs. Beside this was not normal expected cisgender behavior. I was convinced by my parents that it was the reason I had to live as my biological gender. To do this I felt I had to do everything possible to be normal. Including having heterosexual relationships. After all I wanted to have children of my own one day. I think you could call this forced lesbianism. I married three times and each time the marriage ended in disaster. The problem turned out to be I married heterosexual women who expected me to be a heterosexual man, not a woman with a penis, which she hated with a passion. I had pretty much convinced myself over time that I was asexual. Now that I have fully transitioned I have been re-exploring my sexual orientation. For the first time in my life I am free to be myself. I am no longer dealing with the fears I experienced in the past with men and have become very open to physical relationships with them. Unfortunately now I deal with rejection and abuse from cisgender men because I am transgender. This can make life very confusing…… I have even considered relationships with a true lesbian and not a heterosexual woman. At least now I can be the woman I was born to be. Currently I am going to a sex therapist to help me sort out my feeling. But in short, to the answer to your question. Yes, my desire toward men has become stronger simply because I am now free to be myself and I don’t have to live with the gender conflict.

Transgender MTF HRT question?

I've been on hormones for almost 8 weeks now. I'm 22, and my endo said that since I'm younger that it will be much easier for me to pass rather than someone being 35 and beginning transition. My question to the trans veterans here: When do you become passable? I've been told around 6 months in. I see subtle changes, but I need more. I know I wont need FFS, but I just want these hormones to work faster >_

I’m on my 6th month of HRT MtF, but I started to feel constant headache. I think HTR impacted my blood flow, with which I already had problems after trauma. Would my doctor cancel HRT?

We take HRT to improve our lives as transgender women, not to harm them. Please consider your health. Medical advice should only come from a skilled physician. I would greatly encourage you to see your doctor concerning your problem. The best I can do is give you some general ideas to the possible causes.I have been on HTR for years and have never experienced any problems with bio-identical estrogen. However, I have heard of cases where some patients had trouble with different manufactures of the same product. Did the manufacturer change for you prescriptions? If you are taking a testosterone blocker such as Spironolactone one of the side effects is headaches. Testosterone blockers are generally diuretics that prevents your body from absorbing too much salt and keeps you potassium level from getting too low. Often headaches are cause by dehydration. You need to make sure you are drinking enough water. Also it is extremely important to monitor you potassium levels. Because it can build up to dangerous levels in you system especially with dehydration.I wish you the best of luck!

When does MTF HRT start to feminize the face?

I’m just going to start with this disclaimer: Estrogen HRT affects everyone in different ways. It’s exactly the same as puberty; not everyone gets the same results after being doused in estrogen.Your mileage may vary.Shifting fat distribution is really slow and subtle. In theory, it should start as soon as estrogen takes over as the primary sex hormone, which will be pretty quick, but it’s kinda impossible to see any changes until a few months in.Testosterone is very powerful, so any changes to bone structure wrought by it won’t go away without surgery, but the fat might cover some of it up. If you started blockers young enough, you’ll pretty much develop identically to a cisgender woman. If you didn’t have blockers, but are still young, it will very quickly put a halt to any changes currently in progress.Facial hair acts the same way. Once you have terminal hair follicles, they kinda stick around. Sorry about that. Cutting off testosterone also helps halt the production of new terminal hair follicles though. It won’t get worse.Your hair will get thinner, lighter, and grow significantly slower too. You’ll be able to get away with shaving less often and it won’t be as difficult. If you started with really light facial hair, like I did, it will basically cease to be a problem altogether. The opposite will happen with your head hair. Any male-pattern baldness will halt, and there is a lot of anecdotes floating around but no definitive proof that estrogen HRT of various types can re-grow your hairline slowly. Don’t quote me on that, and your endo isn’t going to say it will either.Obviously, if you were too young to have male-pattern baldness, you don’t have to worry about that. Most of this should be noticeable somewhere between 3–6 months. Again, your mileage may vary, please don’t take this to be a promise!

How do you start transgender HRT MtF?

Hi, i'm a 15 year old Mtf Transgender and I would like to start hormones. As far as I know, my mom is okay with me starting hormones, but we just don't know how to get it prescribed to us. I know that you have so see a therapist for a while but the thing is, we've been seeing several therapists and none of them know anything about transgender issues. There are not a lot of gender therapists in our area, so how would we get started with HRT? I am seeing a therapist right now who works with LGBT issues, but she does not know how to get us started on hormones. I live in Utah if that helps. Also, I heard that you have to see a therapist for 3 months and have to be diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder before starting hormones, is there a way for us to skip this step, or would I have to wait 3 months? I just really want to get started on HRT the soonest I can. Is there a way for us to go straight to a endocrinologist and have them prescribe me hormones?

For an MTF transition, is it illegal to start puberty blockers and HRT without gender therapy?

Question addressed: For an MTF transition, is it illegal to start puberty blockers and HRT without gender therapy?Illegal? Probably not “illegal.” The reason for therapy is not to talk anyone out of transitioning but talking with someone who has helped others transition and figuring out how to shoot the transition rapids. Now to the unasked question. Is it possible for someone to get puberty blockers (meaning the person is still in puberty otherwise they aren’t needed) and go onto HRT and to NOT transition. It could happen with informed consent. The doctors readout all the things that will happen on blockers and on HRT and then if something bad happens, the doctor can’t be sued for malpractice since these medicines aren’t immediately lethal in typical amounts. However, I am interested why you want blockers. if you are under 18, it would be unlikely you would be allowed to take them, at least in the USA, as someone under 18. Typically Children’s hospitals who deal with trans youth, they will need the consent of both custodial parents AND six months in therapy to confirm that the patient is actually trans and not suffering from some non-trans pathology. If you want to followup with more specific a question, please do.(Above) Dr. Olson helps trans youth, but it is not a walk-in clinic at UCLA Children’s Hospital.
