My friend is cutting herself what should I do?

I've asked this question before but I didn't get enough answers so what's going on is I found out my best friend is cutting herself and i want to help but I don't know how her other friends no but won't do anything about it and I'm worried because she's doing it more often and deeper what should I do

The thing with cutting is, you can seem to have everything, the whole world at your feet and have the best life, but you can still be hurting inside. I've known people who do it for attention and I've known people who have just hoped that one cut, at least one, would be too deep and kill them. It is a problem either way and it needs to be fixed. She needs help, sit her down, tell her how great she is and how much you care for her and then express your feeling towards this. tell her that no matter how bad she thinks it doesn't look or how many times she wants to send you pictures and say "it's not so bad" it IS bad and it's hurtful to herself and the ones who care about her. It's like an addiction and she won't just STOP! She needs HELP! You need to tell her that if she won't listen to you and have your help, you WILL tell someone else and the can help her. She may not like it, but in the long run, you could very well be saving her life. Also, you should know that by her cutting herself on her legs and not her wrist, is a way of "hiding" them, which means it's getting worse and she probably has cuts all over her body that you don't even know about. They become very visible on your wrsit and people start on the legs and upper arms, sometimes the stomach even.

I'm in high school and I've struggled with cutting for a long time. What you need to do, above all things, is remind her each and every day that you love her for what she is. Let her know that you care about her, and that you will do everything in your power to help her. Don't freak out, or accuse her of being suicidal. Although cutting and suicidal thoughts often go hand in hand, there are still times when people just get relief out of cutting. Accusing her of having suicidal thoughts might make her worse. It's her way of coping. Don't try to get answers out of her, and above all things make sure she knows that you love her and that you want her to stop because she's perfect the way she is.

How can i stop my friend from cutting herself?

i was talking to her about it and she doesnt care that she cuts herself she said its an addiction and she cant stop i really want her to stop but she wont listen to me

Last Thursday, my friend and I noticed all kinda of scars on our other friend's wrists. We got a little worried, and asked her why they were there. At first, she said she was cutting herself. Later, she said that that was just a joke, and it was really her cat. Later the same night, she admitted again that it was actually her cutting herself, then changed her story again and claimed it was the cat. She went back and forth between the two all night. She finally swore on her crush's life that it was her cat.
So my friend and I come to school today, and notice that there are even WORSE marks on her wrists. They're not very deep, but they're very long cuts and the skin around them is really puffy. My friend and I freak out because these look like they COULD be claw marks, but they also look deliberate. Our friend refuses to tell us anything about them today.
And just now, I got an email from this girl saying she'd tell my friend how the marks got there, but not me. I took this as a joke because she knows I hate it when I'm the last to know something. So I emailed her back and said that if my friend wasn't upset when she found out about the marks, then that meant that i had nothing to be worried about, because it wasn't anything serious. I got an email back that said, "You should be worried.", then she signed out.

So, what do you guys think? Does it sound like she's actually cutting, or is she just going for attention? And what should I do if it's the former?

Omg I used to do that too . Yeah it makes all the tension go away . And then you feel alot better , I know , sounds odd but its the sad truth . . . I started doing it because this guy broke up with me so I was all sad and depressed . My friend helped me to stop doing that sh*t . She would always tell me that it was stupid for me to do that . That one day I was gonna end up cutting into my veins . So each time I felt lonely I'd call her and then lilttle by little I was able to stop thanks to her.. Maybe you can help your friend . Tell her to not let sh*it get at her because its realy not worth it and that there are better ways out from your problems (:

Help!!!! My friend is cutting herself and is suicidal!!!!!?

My friend recently told me that she cuts herself and about her past suicide attempts, and that she still wants to die. I don't know how to help her because I'm not in any of her classes anymore and hardly see her. We only like text. I really care about her and don't want to see her do this to herself! How should I help her stop cutting, and not kill herself?
(Btw, we're both 15.)
