My Left Ear Started To Bleed When I Was Trying To Gauge It.

My gauged ears started bleeding?

I come from a family that out of 4 kids, 3 of us have stretched ears. We start around 11-12and continue bigger as we go. Mine are only a 10 since I decided to wait until this year to beginning stretching, however my 20 year old brother and 19 year old sister have been stretching for many years.
My older brothers are a double 0
and my older sisters are an inch and a half.
DO NOT WORRY!
Bleeding is normal as long as it was not continuous for a long period of time. IF they just bled for a little time and did not continue to bleed, you are fine. I recommend that since you just stretched them to not forget to sleep with them in your ears for the first 2-3 weeks to make sure they are not going to suddenly close. IF they bleed, simply check to see if you have torn the lobe. IF you tear the lobe at all, use hydrogen peroxide to clean the earing and the ear. Then put the earing back in your ear if it is not swollen (if it is swollen let it heal for at least 2 weeks) and put a tight bandaide around your ear. That will allow it to heal properly.
But Bleeding is not bad. It is part of the process. Next time I recommend if you continue to use larger gauges, to go by the twos. Now that you are getting smaller, going by a 4 or a 6 will allow for tearing and infections. Be careful!

And also, it is not called GAUGED EARS!
What you put in your ears are earings. They are differnt gauges. Your ears are stretched. For those who have never stretched their ears, their ears are pierced!
You do not have gauged ears, you have stretched ears. If someone says wow what is in your ears you would say "I have stretched my ears for _______long and they are a _____ gauge."
Just a tip for the future. But don't be tooo worried about the bleeding, it will be fine, just take precautions!

If you're just starting to gauge your ears, and they bleed, what do you do?

I want to gauge my ears. I guess my ears were pierced at a 20GA, and I'll have to buy an 18GA taper and plugs. They say that you're only supposed to feel warmth/tingling when you're stretching your ears a gauge down, and if your ear starts bleeding or you're in a lot of pain, take out your taper (not that everyone uses a taper to gauge their ears...) and wait a couple of weeks before you try again.

I've had my ears pierced for 10 years. If my ear starts bleeding and what not, what do I do? Just force it through? I don't think waiting a couple of weeks would help, as I've (in a way) been waiting 10 years, lol.

I'm sorry if I'm being annoying, and I'll ask the piercer this same question when I go to get a taper and plugs, but I kind of want to know right now.

Thank you all!

I just gauged my ears and they keep bleeding?

OK so i went from an 18 Straight to a 6! It bleeds every time i take out the gauge and one ear that we had to force the gauge in is always sore i did it two days ago is this normal?

2g-0g ear gauges. My ear started to bleed?

Did you use any lubes while you stretched ? if no then thats where your problem could have came from, when stretching you should use jojoba oil, emu oil, or vitamin E oil, so that the taper can slide in easy. and also with those oils you should be regularly giving your lobes massages to help thicken up the skin and break down scar tissue. Never use petrolium jelly or vasoline because they can harbor bacteria. your ears really shouldn't bleed that means you gave your ears micro tears to the fistulas (inner part of the lobe) and it scabbed and once you took out the plug you messed them up. micro tears can lead to blowouts and blow outs suck really bad, I learned the hard way I had to go all the way back down to a two in my right ear while my left is at a 00g now I got the right to a 0g but I'm gonna wait another month before I stretch to the 00g. Tappers should NOT be worn as jewlery because they cause uneven stretching, you should be following a plug on the taper while stretching so uneven stretching doesn't occur. leave them out for a while longer and make sure you are massaging the oils I gave above (jojoba oil, emu oil, or vitamin E oil) wellI know jojoba oil can be found at in the organic isle of fred meyers.

Is bleeding normal in ear gauges?

Minimal bleeding can occur even in standard ear piercings, so yes, it's fairly normal. Just keep cleaning it and make sure to wait a while and let it heal very well before you try moving up another size (if you intend to).

The bleeding should go away in a few days. If it lasts more than a week or starts to pus and get swollen, then it's possible that its infected. If that happens, keep cleaning it well and see a doctor. Piercing infections generally clear up on their own, but be careful, because if it doesn't clear up you'll have to take it out and let it heal up, which can really mess with larger holes and leave your earlobe all lopsided.

I'm sure it's fine though, it sounds like your skin is just reacting normally to being stretched. I'd treat it like a cut for now.

I changed my ear piercings after 3 weeks and one started bleeding when I took it out to change it. What should I do?

I used to manage a tattoo and piercing shop, the same company from the show Inked. It’s important to remember that keeping your piercing clean is the number one rule, and part of making sure that rule is abided by, is also making sure that you don’t touch your ears as much as possible. Using soap without perfumes, alcohols, and scents is preferred as not to agitate the ear. You are smart for waiting the three weeks before changing, but what alarms me is that you’re bleeding. This could be from a few different things.Obviously, the piercing could simply be irritated, and you may take longer to heal. This is a common misconception that is often confused with an infected piercing. The piercing should not be sore after three weeks, and it should not bleed. However, just like tattoos, everyone heals differently.Something else to pay attention to is the way they pierced your ear. If you had it pierced at a piercing kiosk in the mall, you’re probably realizing it was a bit more painful than you thought it’d be. The standard “piercing gun” is the worst way to pierce your ears. It traumatizes the ear. Ear piercing should be done with a sterile hollow needle, and your jewelry should NOT be metal, but instead, surgical grade titanium - the same material used in surgeries and implants. The quickest way to get an infection is to keep touching the piercing with your fingers. Every single piece of bacteria on your hand is being virtually wiped into your piercing every time you touch it or twirl it, or play with it.Without looking at it in person, it’s quite hard to say, “okay, THIS is why your ear is bleeding.”Your best bet is to go right back to the shop you got your ears pierced at, and ask for input towards this situation. Have a licensed piercer look at it and give their professional opinion.Don’t wait to do it, just go. Get your answer and start taking care of it.

Ear stretch 8g to 6g BLEEDING!!!!?

Bleeding from gauging is normal. You are indeed stretching skin, and sometimes the stretch can be more of a tear. Did you get your ears pierced as an 8 gauge? If so, you should leave the gauges in for about a month or so. If you recently gauged to an 8, it may be a good idea to wait another two weeks, just to allow the skin to accommodate. When gauging, it doesn't hurt to clean your ears as though you just got them pierced, especially if your piercings bleed in the process. This will help prevent infection. It would also be a good idea to use Bactine. This is an antiseptic, but it can also act as a lubricant when gauging your ears, making the transition a little less painful.

Good luck!

Why doesn't it bleed when we make a hole in ear to wear ear rings?

It bleeds, but very minimally and stops easily,Because of the limited blood supply (no big blood vessels- only small capillaries)

Um.. my gauges made my ear bleed?

You have something called a blow out. This is when you get too impatient and gauge up too quickly for you skin to handle. A blow out is when you force a gauge in your ear too soon causing tearing of the hole and in some cases you can actually push the inner part of the hole out the back. This often results in scar tissues and a more difficult and painful time sizing up in the future. Waiting a few weeks in between sizes isn't a suggestion. But going to quickly you are actually making it harder for yourself. In order to properly treat it you have to go done a size, wash it 2x daily, and do salt soaks for at least 2 weeks. and i would wait and additional week or 2 before trying to size up again.

Trust me don't try to move too fast follow the 2 week waiting time for sizes 16-8g, 3 weeks from 8g-4g, and a month from 4g and up. It seems like a pain but it will make stretching so much easier. I went too fast on my seconds and now I can't make them any bigger then 8g

I've had my ear lobe piercings for 2 years but they bled when I tried to put them back in. Why is this happening and what should I do?

The jewellery you were wearing was most likely made of cheap or corrosive material and caused the tissue directly around them to become irritated. This makes your body try to seal the holes faster.Reinsertion was most likely tearing at this already harmed tissue and caused them to bleed. This is a big problem.90% chance of fistula collapse and loss of piercings.Go see a piercer ASAP.You see once blood is present within a fistula, then the body’S healing system is activated and quickly begins to seal the open wounds. You have a short time to perhaps get a stud through or you may lose the holes for good.Try to lubricate your jewellery. This may help. You can use any standard lube or even hand creams or antiseptic creams to do this. Put a tiny bit on the tip of the studs and try again. If that fails definitely go see a piercer.
