My Toshiba Satellite Laptop Beeps When I Type

Toshiba Satellite A215-S5837---3G/HD slot?

What is the 3G/HD slot used for on the motherboard of the Toshiba Satellite A215-S5837? I have searched and searched and can't find any info on what goes there.

How do you troubleshoot a Toshiba Satellite laptop that won't boot up?

Many things can cause a dead/non functional laptop. First decide if it’s worth it to fix it. You can always put the laptop’s hard drive in a USB external enclosure and get your data back, depending on whether the hard was the component to fail or not.First, remove the laptop’s main battery and try powering on again.Next, try a known working ac/power adapter/charger and try powering on again. If you are getting lights but your LCD/screen does not light up, then it’s either a bad LCD/screen or your video card is bad.Try replacing your CMOS/BIOS battery, I’ve seen this revive non functional laptops.Try a know good/charged laptop battery from another/identical laptop, this proves that the DC jack is bad. After that, your guess is as good as mine. It’s like trying to have my mechanic fix my car over the phone. You have to bring it in.

Laptop repeatedly typing 111111 and beeping?

First off, I'm asking this question from my phone. I was just using my Toshiba laptop a little while ago when suddenly it started typing 11111111111 and beeping loud like a smoke alarm. I hit the power button to shut it off. Now when I turn it back on it beeps till I shut it off again.

I removed the battery and popped off both number 1 keys and cleaned them. I then replaced the keys and battery and turned on my comp. This time Windows loaded and I thought everything was ok but then I noticed it was still typing 111111 and then it started beeping again.

Any advice?

Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5130 Power On Password Issues?

I keep getting a screen that says "Enter password." Unfortunately, I don't even know if my keyboard works or not. I don't hear a beep like there would be a keyboard error. It says to either press F2 or F12 but neither key works and I just go to the Enter Password screen. I thought I would be able to at least press F6 or F8 to get into Safe Mode and that's not working either. I need to know how at least to check if the keyboard is shot or just a few keys, which I don't know I can do if I can't get past the power on password issue.

I have an error message on my Toshiba L300d-039 laptop PSL8C-043019? please help!?

This problem happened nearly 2 years ago and i've barely used my laptop since, but I had left my laptop on and was at school. When I came back home I found my laptop off, and when I turned it on, I realised that there was the error message on the screen and that half my keys on my keyboard wouldn't work (I am using a usb keyboard atm). I originally thought that the laptop overheated, or that someone spilt water in it (it was underneath a couch plugged into the A/C power and was on a concrete basement floor, no water around it). When it turns on now, it beeps lots of times, and i'd have to press escape, or enter to make it stop and continue to load windows Vista. I want to know what the error message means, and how I can fix it asap, I've already tried reformating it, i've tried restoring it to a prior date... nothing seems to work. Thanks :)

What does it mean when my laptop makes a short high pitched beep?

If this happens while using the laptop and not just while booting then it's probably not a POST code, especially if it is random. Just a single beep generally isn't any kind of code, though as others have stated it may be a temperature warning of some kind. If it still occurs when you mute the actual speakers in your laptop, this is likely the case, since that means it's a separate warning speaker connected directly to the laptop's motherboard. Try installing some program that allows you to monitor your computer core temperature. I recommend CoreTemp. That program can make sure your computer shuts off or goes to sleep if the temperature is dangerously high, and you can set custom warnings as well.
