What are the ideas of the future?
The future is basically a race. Between, on one side, exponentially increasing computing power and ubiquity, coupled with smaller and more fine-grained fabrication capacity (starting with 3D printing, robotics, moving on to MEMS, biotech and nanotechnology.) And, on the other, environmental destruction, resource depletion and peak everything.One of two things will happen : we'll hit a crucial peak of some fundamental requirement (oil, water, helium, potassium); or global warming will cause major food chain collapse. And then civilization will effectively end.Or, the improved fabrication technologies will make us ever better at managing resources and energy more efficiently, and we'll end up being able to sustain a steady-state population within the energy budget that the sun gives us each year, and with other important materials being continually cycled.There is no third way : the stocks that the earth has aren't infinite, and we aren't even vaguely close to being able to pull resources from other asteroids, planets and stars. (Yes, we dream of it, no that's not going to be the front-runner in this race.) So, basically the ideas of the future are going to be those that "go with the grain" of these two broad trends. Anything that uses ubiquitous computing / robots / microfabrication to make material production more efficient in terms of energy and materials is a big idea for the future.

The shoe has to have a purpose for instance, it can fly, go on water etc... i cant come up with any original ideas and need some help. I would appriciate it if you could help me by sharing some ideas. I was thinking of doing a shoe which you can play guitar (has strings) what else could i include? thanks

The real future is staring you in the face, but You won't like it. People are breeding too fast;The world population now is supposed to be 7 billion but it is more than that. How long before it doubles, trebles? The West is collapsing, read the papers. the East is rising and they don't care about the environment. The rain forests are being destroyed faster than you can imagine, and the world is getting hotter. Sea levels are rising now, they could rise 10 metres and more easily with the warming of the sea. Nearly every capital city in the world is located at the seaside; London has trouble now. If the sea rises even two metres it will all be underwater, so will New York.How many countries will that flood, where can the greatly increased population go? Every body has nukes now, or soon will have, dirty bombs that spread undying radiation are easy to make, they don't have to be nukes, just explosive with nuke waste wrapped around them. As science collapses people will revert to savagery. Today, a woman in Saudi was executed for witchcraft! Kids in India are called witches and beaten to death or turned out to die! These are countries that have or will get nukes! These people are breeding faster than the civilized world is. Strangely, when the icecaps melt too far it will alter the course of the gulf stream, and Britain will become colder. London is on the same latitude as Moscow, so London will get Moscow weather. London is in the south, what do you think will happen to the north? You should be able to make a story out of any of those events.
My bf and i have different ideas of the future, what should i do? any advice would be appreciated:)?
my bf and i used to have the same ideas of what we wanted to do. we have been together for 3 years and 6 months and i am studying to be a nurse at the time i am going to go into the nursing program in august, his goal was to become a border patrol agent but he just didn't make it through school so now he does not want to be that anymore. His goal now is to become a pipeliner or work in the oil rigs, if you might not know those kind of people travel alot and find work very far from home. so i will spend alot of time alone if we ever get married or if we keep on in our relationship so thats one issue. another issue is that we are very youn im barely 20 and hes 19 so we started dating when we were about 17 so we really have not experienced much like clubbing and dating other people and bars and stuff like that. i generaly do not mind at all i love him so much and i really would not like to go to those places without him, but he has a different idea he tells me that he would like to go out alone with his friends and well all of his friends are single and love to go out to strip clubs and bars and stuff like that, ofcourse they are single they will be going out with women so thats another issue, that over there where he is he will be going out with other women. so please tell me any advice or similar situations that you might have anything would be appreciated thanks:)
