New To Tumblr Question About Tags

How do you tag questions on Tumblr?

If you have XKit you can tag questions when you reply to them as if they were regular posts. If you don't, you can add the tags to the questions after you replied to them; to do so just click “edit” on the question’s post once it's published and add the tags you want.

Tumblr question - how to search my own tags?

On my tumblr blog, I've tagged everything I've ever posted with tags relevant to my own searching - fitness stuff, fashion stuff, recipes, etc.
When I go to my own blog I want to be able to search for, let's say, 'fitness' and I'd like all the things (just from my OWN blog) that I've tagged 'fitness' to come up.
At the moment, when I search 'fitness,' it gives me EVERYTHING that anyone's ever tagged fitness.
How do I just search through my own blog?
Thanks very much :)

How do I answer questions on Tumblr?

If someone asks you a question in a reply to your post and you want to answer, you have to click on their URL and leave your answer in their Ask box.To expedite the process, just add "/ask" to their URL. If they don't have an ask box you can take a screengrab of the comment and post it as a picture with your answer in the text description.Sometimes people who don't have an ask box provide another blog or formspring where you can leave comments. If they provide a twitter account, use that.Or just don't answer.

Tumblr question about tags?

I'm new to Tumblr so forgive me if this is a stupid question but when you reblog stuff do you give it your own tags or does it keep the tags from the person you are reblogging from I've noticed once I reblog stuff their tags disappear so do I re-tag them for my tumblr?

How do I create more than one tag on my Tumblr post?

All you have to do is put a comma after the previous tag to add another, in the tags bar at the bottom of the post . For example, if I want the tags “aesthetic” “pretty” and “pink” on my post I will list it as “aesthetic, pretty, pink” on the bar for tags and tumblr will automatically make 3 tags.

What does it mean to "tag your post" on tumblr?

It helps people search for things. It's just a way to desribe things better too.
So say if you posted a picture of your parrot, you could tag it parrot if people want to search for parrots, and you could tag it pet to show it's your pet.
You don't have to tag if you don't want though.

How can I ask questions and like stuff from my secondary blog on Tumblr?

You can’t. You can only ask and like posts under your main account’s username. If you really want to function under your secondary account’s name in addition, then the best thing to do is to delete it and create a separate account and go back and forth between the two. Or, if you don’t use your main too often, you can create a new account, transfer all of your original posts from the old secondary to the new main (this can be a long process if you have an established secondary blog), delete your old account (along with both blogs) and operate completely with your new one.I recommend doing the second option. I did it about a year ago and it’s much more easier than constantly having to tell mutuals the name of my main account.:)

How can we search own tumblr posts with tags?

How can we search own tumblr posts with tags? This question is vague as you don’t specify if you’re trying to search your posts within your own blog or within the dashboard.Within your own blog. You can sort your posts by tag by using either a search bar (if you have one installed in your current theme) or by typing it directly on the URL bar. To do the latter, simply type your Tumblr URL and add /tagged/TAG at the end (e.g. your-username.tumblr.com/tagged/your-tag).Within the dashboard. Searching your own posts by tag in your dashboard can be tricky. As far as I know, the only way to do this is by searching your own username on the search bar in your dashboard. Still, not all of your posts will show up. In fact, by searching my own username there I can only see two of the posts even though I have over 100 of them. Now, if you’re asking how to find your own posts which have tags in them, one way of finding that is through the Mass Post Editor of your blog:Click on the user icon at the top-right corner of your dashboard. If you have more than one blog, look for the one which has the posts you’re looking for.Click on the user icon that shows up next to the blog’s name when you hover on it.When the menu expands, assuming it’s not expanded already, click on Posts. On the sidebar on the right, under Edit Appearance, you have a link saying Mass Post Editor. Click there. This will take you to the mass post editor of your blog. All of the blog’s posts will be listed there and you’ll be able to find which ones have tags and which ones don’t. However, this will be a very slow process as you’ll have to click every single post individually to find which ones have no tags.Another way of finding tagless posts is through your blog directly. By going to your blog (your-username.tumblr.com), you’ll be able to navigate through all your posts and see which ones have tags and which don’t, assuming that your theme allows you to see the tags in the posts. If it doesn’t allow you to see them, contact the person who designed the theme so that they can help you with it.If this is not what you’re referring to, please add more details so we can help you.
