Nose Piercing Swelling After Trying To Change It

NOSE PIERCING swelling, help wanted?!?

Its been nearly a month since i got my nose pierced(on the right side only).
and now my nose has started to swell very badly, ON BOTH SIDES.
Its n't very painful but, the left side of my nose is swelling directly opposite of my piercing. When i take my piercing out there's white goo coming out of. I'm really freaked out and worried, cuz it might be normal for the nose piercing to swell, but i pierce on one side and selling on both sides thats freaking weird. I thought it would go away in a while but it only seems to get bigger and worse, should i let go of my piercing, cause thats what many pple are telling me to do. But i don't want....
pls help ASAP?!!

How long until the swelling goes down on my nose piercing?

You need to take care of it, its probably getting infected unless somehow the jewelry is on to tight because it shouldn't be swollen. Don't touch or play with it and clean it with warm water and antibacterial soap on a q-tip. And you can do salt water soaks just use 1/4 teaspoon or non iodized salt and warm/hot water in a small container and soak your nose piercing in it for 5-10 minutes. Clean it about 2-3 times a day and don't play or touch it, the swelling should go down as long as your taking care of it correctly, if the swelling hasn't gone down by than you shouldn't change it because its probably infected and removing jewelry from an infected piercing can cause the infection to spread and get worse, unless the jewelry is causing it to swell than wash your hands and the new jewelry and change it and than wash the piercing. Always wash your hands before touching piercings and never use peroxide or anything with alcohol in it.
Hope I helped. (:

Why is my nose piercing bleeding after I changed it to a hoop?

There are a variety of reasons why your nostril would be bleeding after you switched to a hoop. You could've switched your jewelry before you nostril was fully healed. If so it will take that much longer for your nostril to heal, since you reopened the wound that was trying to heal. Also, in most cases, when you switch to a hoop the gauge is often times bigger than the screw, bone, L shaped jewelry that you had in originally. When you replace you jewelry with a hoop, you need your nostril taper (gauging up) in order for the jewelry to fit without harming your skin. If you were not tapered and your ring is a gauge bigger, then you cut and widened your channel. This is a lot of trauma on your skin. Be prepared for a slow healing process. The bleeding could also be as simple as you got an impurity inside of it, or you bumped it causing it to bleed. In any of these cases, in order to heal the damage, clean it daily with your sea salt soak. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL! It is to abrasive for your skin. It will kill off any new skin cells trying to grow. DO NOT *I repeat* DO NOT switch out your jewelry! Even if your gauge is bigger than your previous jewelry, you already done the damage and you will do more if you remove it. Leave it alone for the time being. Do not touch it! If your problem still persists, contact your professional body piercer and have them take a look. They will give you the best advice. Hope this helps, the best of luck!

Why did my nose piercing swell after changing it?

You should wait at LEAST 4 months, better to wait 5 or 6, for no complications at all. Nose piercings take 4 to 6 months to heal and should NOT be changed any sooner. Nose piercings need to be left alone during the healing time. You irritated the tissue, because it was still raw, and it was still trying to heal. The healing process was disrupted. It's like jabbing your finger into a wound, you shouldn't do that.
EDIT: You should just try to leave it alone for now. If you don't have proper nose jewellery in it, right now, then you should switch it to proper jewellery, then leave it alone to fully heal. I got my jewellery changed at 5 months, and it's been fine ever since. I remember at a month, mine was easily irritated. Make sure to clean yours a few times a day with salt water. Also, before touching your nose, make sure that your hands are clean, and make sure to clean the jewellery thoroughly, before putting it in.

Does changing a nose piercing from a stud to a hoop hurt?

As long as the piercing is healed you should have minimum pain when changing jewelry. If you want to have a forever hoop (one that is a completely closed hoop), you can purchase the ring at a piercing shop and they will assist you in putting it on for free - this is definitely the best way to go for these types of hoops. Additionally, with a forever hoop, you can have a piercer remove it for you free of cost too. Also, depending on the angle the spot was pierced in, you could have some discomfort when changing the jewelry. Again, as long as it is healed properly any pain you’ll feel should be very mild and go away within 10–20 minutes.I have a forever hoop and both nostrils pierced with studs as well. I honestly have had less problems with my forever hoop than with the studs.

Nose piercing swollen on inside after a week!?

So long story short. I got my nose pierced with a gun( I know it's stupid) but I didn't know it was bad at all when I got it done until I did research after. She uses a new gun everytime though so that probably helps.

Anyways I got it done 5 days ago and the piercer said to change the piercing after 2 days!!!! (I know) to a normal nose piercing cause the piercing that's in now is just straight with a sharper edge so it won't stay in. So I researched it cause it really didn't sound right to change it after only 2 days... But I tried changing it anyway and of course couldn't get the stud in so I put the old one back in. Now it's all swollen on the inside:(:( I clean it three times a day inside and out and it's not sore or hot it's just swollen. Almost swelling completely so the end of the piercing isn't seen. What's happening? What should I do? Should I go to the doctor cause I'm freaking out pretty badly hearing all these horror stories with infected piercings:( please help!

Swollen nostril after changing nose jewellery?

I had my nose ring for 3 months before i tried to change it. I had a corkscrew in so it was really hard to get out and i practically ripped my face off haha My nose was reallyyyy swollen afterwards. The best thing to do is take a clean paper towel and wrap an ice cube in it and hold it on your nose where the ring is. I held mine on for like an hour before i went to sleep and when i woke up wit was much better.Good luck!

Nose swollen after piercing?

How long after you get your nose pierced should it be swollen? I got my nose pierced from a very reputable tattoo and piercing shop about three weeks ago, but the outside of my nose is still swollen. (I admit to changing the nose screw about 10 times already trying to find one that is flush to my nose. I finally found a 14 k gold nose screw that suits my needs.) Not huge swollen, but enough that I notice it. I still do not have the natural shape of my nose back and I am afraid that by getting it pierced it changed the structure of my nose. I stopped cleaning with the sea salt/citric acid after care spray and now just use soap and water. I do use Q-tips and I do try to "cover up" some of the redness around the nose ring with make up. Any suggestions? (I know, quit using Q-tips, quit changing the darned thing and quit putting makeup around it ) but any suggestions about the swelling? thanks!

My new nose piercing fell out?

i just got my nose pierced six days ago and my nose ring fell out
i tried to put it back through, and it went through but did come out on the other side.
it just got all swollen on the inside.
im not sure if i poked another hole in it or what but its getting harder to push the ring through because the inside is swollen.
i can't go back to the piercer right now because it's late, so should i just leave it out all night and let the swelling go down, then try tomorrow (and possibly go to the piercer then) or will it close by then ?
help !?

I changed my nose piercing for the first time after 6 months and now it’s swollen, red, and has some kind of pus around it when I lift it. Is it infected?

Absolutely it is. I had a similar experience with my nose piercing when I tried to change the jewelry before it healed, thankfully the infection was minor and cleared up after I took the piercing out and took care of it. I then had to get it re-pierced and this time I followed the aftercare instructions exactly as I was told. You should go back to where you got it done and get them to change any jewelry, in the meantime take it out and start taking care of the infection. If it’s really bad or you leave it and touch it with dirty hands you’ll need to see a doctor.
