O You Have To Be Very Chronological When Listing Your Jobs On Your Resume

Resume- order of importance or chronological order?

Chronological order. Newest first. But education if college goes first. Then jobs is next, with the most recent first. Then after that would be Conferences and Seminars with the most recent first. Then after that would be any awards or certifications with most recent first. Then last would be 3 references. Bring 2 resumes.
Your name should be on top with your address, phone numbers and email address underneath. Then like this
EDUCATION
York Colleg of PA
Graduated 1989
Therapeutic Recreation, BS Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE
Blah Blah Rehab Hospital
City, Sate
2006- Present
Then here in a paragraph you type your job duties and experience in several lines in current tense. Think of each detail. Then if applicable type what computer programs used. MS Word, Power Point, etc.

Blah Blah Senior Center
City, State
2003-2006
Then type duties and experience in a few lines all same as above. But here and continues use past tense.

Make sure you space catagories out properly and play around with bolds and italicizing to make it look nice.
Also remember if you have anything misspelled or bad english, they will not consider you. So check over the resume several times.

I probably over did it, but my sister worked for a job placement agency and I review resumes that come thru my work! You may find some templates online.

For a chronological resume, which comes first - the start or end date?

For example, let's say these are the jobs i'm trying to order:

1. Job X which I worked from May 2000 - July 2004
2. Job Y which I worked part time from November 2002 - March 2003
3. Job Z which I worked part time from April 2003 - September 2004

As you can see, there is significant overlap in all of these - which would I list first (ie. my 'most recent' and which one last ( 'least recent'). I can't seem to find if you go by start or end date of a job.

Thank you!!

Resume Help - Chronological VS Functional?

I believe that you should use a functional resume because this type of resume is the best in situations when you've gained experience and qualifications by studying or working to demonstrate your competency. You should list your skills in order of importance.
If you don't make up your mind on what type of resume you should write I recommend you to use a combo resume(functional and chronological combined).

Do I have to list every job/position I have had on my resume?

While writing a curriculam vitae, it is necessary to emphasize on every job that you did so far but if it’s a resume and there are some jobs which you did not stick for a longer time less than 3 months, you can skip them but if it’s more than three months then you should list them. Although it will be perceived that you hop jobs quite frequently but you can justify that in the interview if you are asked about it.

Does chronological order mean most recent first or vice versa?

Need it for a job application, which usually say "most recent first" so that is how I have started, but before I spend the rest of the day on this I had better not waste my time and have my application dumped because I put my previous experience in the wrong order. Thanks for your help.

What is a good resume for a high school student?

You want to do a skill oriented resume, not a chronological resume of jobs.
There is specific format for entry level resumes. You can use the resume wizard on Microsoft word and you will get a template such as this.
