Nope, the person taking the snapshot does it at their discretion :P. The other alternative is just to do "Print Screen" and go int o MS Paint and copy it there. But otherwise, no, they won't know if you go into snapshot mode.

I found this out the hard way. Yes, they do know. When you save it, it alerts the other person that the chat or pic was saved. But I have to say when someone saved something I had sent I wasn’t too happy about it. So I am glad to know that feature does exist. But like anything there’s other ways to keep something. I had a really sweet conversation with my daughter that I wanted to keep. I just took my tablet and took a picture of the conversation. It was sweet and full of love. Something that teenagers seem to lose for awhile sometimes so I wanted to cherish it. It wasn’t harmful or something to be used against her etc. Just a keepsake for this Mom.
