Photo Enforcement Light While Driving

How to beat red light photo enforcement program?

Many jurisdictions in my area have red-light cameras. The tickets belong to the registered owner of the vehicle.

I was photographed running a red light (rainy, slick streets, didn't want to skid into the intersection) while driving a company truck a few years ago. The ticket went to the office and the company was required to pay because they were the ones that allowed me to drive the truck. Of course, they took the fine out of my pay.

The point is, the ticket goes to whomever is the registered owner of the vehicle. They won't care who was driving, and it won't put any points on anyone's license for that very reason.

Why am I responsible for a photo enforcement ticket if they cannot prove that I was the one that was driving?

You can come here and complain and Bit*h all you want, nobody here is going to help you legally

You don't think you should be responsible, then you as a citizen has a right to hire a lawyer for $600 or more, and fight the ticket in court. That is the procedure, that is your right so use it.

It is so very easy to come here and complain when you don't want to do anything about it.

Have you consulted a lawyer? The answer is no you have not, because if you would have, you wouldn't be on this board ranting about how unjust you have been treated.

You don't like the camera, you and a bunch of other people who got caught by them can start attending city council meetings and tell them you want them taken down. But NOOOO, you would rather shoot your mouth off hiding behind a key board.

As far a outsourcing my job? I have more time now to deal with real crimes without having to concentrate on traffic offenses, so I am fine with it

Quit your griping, hire a lawyer, attend council meetings and stress to them you are unhappy, they are the only ones that can do anything for you. Nobody on this board can help you

Those are your choices

Does anyone known if the red light photo enforcement cameras in Ca use green lights at night?

Does anyone known if the red light photo enforcement cameras in Ca use green lights at night? I was taking a friend home, earlier this morning. While I was driving home, I passed through an intersection, when I noticed a green flash of light come from behind me. I could sware that the traffic light was green, The Flash seemed like the green light signal in the opposite direction I was traveling in (East to West) flashed liked it had just burned out, like an old light bulb. Thanks in advance, Bill S

Can I successfully contest a red light photo enforcement ticket?

I'm not sure if I will get one because it just happened this afternoon.

Anyways...here's how it went

There were 2 traffic lights--one was consecutively right after the other. These 2 traffic lights are pretty close to one another. The 1st turned yellow and I was able to pass but then the 2nd one turned red and I was going to stop on that one. This is where I got confused. I was stopping but I appeared to be stopping in the middle of an intersection? There was no white line/limit line on the ground so I did not know where to stop. I was stopping but it looked like I was right in the middle of an intersection (between the 1st and 2nd traffic light) so I panicked, didn't have an opportunity to make sure and accelerated past the red light (2nd traffic light).

Do I have a case on this one? I am freaking out over this & getting a headache. My record is clean....or WAS clean. I seriously want to punch myself for this. I hate this!! Makes me want to kill myself!! =/

The thing is...I DID break a law. This means I'm screwed, doesn't it? What is going to happen to me?! Should I just take the easy way out? (easy but brave ^.^")

Take it as grace and supply glory to God for it, hand your life over to him, and circulate approximately your life.

If you were not driving can you beat a red light ticket?

Depends on how the law is written in your jurisdiction. In DC the law governing photo enforcement states that the registered owner of the vehicle is responsible for all fines unless they sign an affidavit identifying the actual driver for proper assessment of fines. No wiggle room. Someone pays....yes even cops. We get photo enforcement tickets on our police vehicles, the officials check the run sheets to see who was driving on that day and time and the driver has to ante up....talk about a drag...lol. Suppose you can do in your house for the family car what we do in the locker room and make a "ticket jar". Everyone puts a small amount in each month and when someone gets jammed it comes from the jar. Photo enforcement here is only a monetary fine without points...same as cell phone violation.

I just got red light ticket, but I wasn't the one driving my car. Is there anyway to get the ticket dismissed?

If you are really interested in protecting your friend and its clearly not you, you can go to court and possibly have it dismissed.

Now, in court, if you decide to testify you have to answer truthfully if the judge asks you if you know who it was. However, you aren't required to testify. You can ask the officer who reviewed the photographs questions that can establish its not you.

But if you do testify and they do ask you who was driving, the chances of them refiling on her are just about non-existent. Remember going to court is always a risk. You could still lose. It helps that you were in the passenger seat. Hopefully you can be seen in one of the pictures to further establish you weren't the driver.

Is it legal for the police to issue me 2 photo enforced speeding tickets within 3 minutes?

This question needs clarification with details to properly answer. I’ll give a couple of scenarios of two photo-violations 2–3 minutes apart to illustrate. We have to assume that nothing stopped her forward motion, such as a stop sign or traffic signal.Say Driver is on Apple St, and speeding — 30 in a 25. When passing the camera at the intersection with 1st Ave, she gets a photo-violation. Next, she turns onto 2rd Ave, and when she crosses Birch St, she gets another photo-violation for speeding — 35 in a 30.What if instead of turning, Driver continues straight on Apple St, and gets a second photo-violation from the camera at Apple and 3rd Ave? There are no changes in the speed limit, or even a speed limit sign between the two cameras. In the second scenario, I can see a solid argument for this being one violation. She was continuously driving on a section of roadway. How can it be more than one instance of speeding? This is connected to res judicata. If in a completely different scenario, if someone runs a red light while speeding, the government can prosecute for both. But if, due to a clerical error, only the speeding violation was prosecuted and tried, the government could not come back and prosecute the red-light violation. The answer to this question is, much like the answer to almost every legal question, “It depends.”

Is it illegal to turn on lights inside the car while driving in the U.S.?

In most states it is not illegal to drive with an interior light on. However, if you have that light on so that you may peruse a map, document or other item while you are driving, then you MIGHT be cited for distracted driving. An LEO (law enforcement officer) seeing an interior light focused toward the driver may properly presume that the driver is performing a task not directly relating to driving the vehicle. If the interior light is directed toward a passenger, the assumption cannot be made. Also, as mentioned, interior lighting will destroy your night vision, allowing only to view closer, directly and brightly illuminated objects ahead of you. Good luck spying that cop in your rearview mirror, especially if the interior light also illuminates the mirror.Drive your vehicle to a safe location, stop, turn on the light, then do your business. When your business is done, turn off the light, give your eyes time to adjust to darkness (varies per individual) then proceed into traffic.

Are red light tickets enforceable in Beverly Hills?

Camera tickets? No, as long as you do not respond to them. If you respond to them you will owe as you just acknowledged the ticket.. The Los Angeles Superior Court has determined that camera tickets are not enforceable if you do not show up to court. A ticket written by a police officer requires you to sign the ticket which is your commitment to show up in court if you do not pay it first on line.Without this signature the courts have ruled that the tickets are unenforceable, just ignore them. I have two and I never have acknowledged them and they cannot go to warrant or appear on your driving record.attorneys are advising drivers to toss their red light camera citations in the trash, because of a new enforcement policy set in LA County Superior Court.“It will not go on your credit report, the DMV will not be notified,” said Jay Beeber, executive director of driver advocacy group Safer Streets LA, which opposes red-light cameras.Beeber said that over the past few years, LA County has quietly adopted a new policy not to pursue red light ticket recipients who don’t respond to mailed citations.“They will not come and arrest you, there will not be a warrant out for your arrest and there will not be any affect on your credit,” Beeber said.A spokesperson for LA County’s Superior Court confirmed to the NBC4 I-Team that while they’d “prefer” that drivers pay their tickets, when they’re no-shows at court, there’s no way for courts to legally confirm the identities of people photographed in red-light camera citations. So, if you ignore a ticket, while a $300 dollar fine will be assessed against you in the court record, it won’t go on your credit report, there won’t be a warrant issued for your arrest and the court won’t ask the DMV to place a hold on your license.Source: http://www.nbclosangeles.com/new... It should be a crime to send you a ticket in the mail without a disclaimer that you don’t have to pay …it is ”voluntary”… there is little difference here as compared to many internet scams being run on suckers all the time….. “your computer has been infected … call now”
