Does anyone know what carriers the xperia z1 uses?
Sony Xperia Z1 is a GSM phone and will work with any GSM carrier. All GSM carriers use SIM card and the Z1 uses that too so you can use the phone with any SIM card from any GSM carrier. I'm sure you've GSM services in your area. If you're in US, the phone will support T-Mobile (not in your area), AT&T, SimpleMobile, StraightTalk, MetroPCS (GSM). How to Record Radio from Sony Xperia SP?
My phone is Xperia SP. It has a radio, but I can't record it. My mother tongue is not English, and I mostly listen to English songs. Since I learned English, I've been listen to songs on radio, record them (with my old telephone Samsung Monte), and then at home, I listen to my recordings, and I either TrackID (because I have internet only at home), or write down the lyrics I UNDERSTAND and then find the song on Google. I'm accustomed to it. Now, I've changed my mobile and my father started to use my Monte. SP is great and all, but it ******* doesn't have a radio recorder! I downloaded online radios from Play Store, but it didn't help, because like I said, I don't have internet often. so, my radio must NOT need internet. And I need a voice recorder which is supported by SP and can record voice from radio. It shouldn't hear the outer voices. Does such a think exist? By the way, I tried RecForge too. But it wasn't for SP I think. Because it records OUTER voices, other than the radio. Please help me, like I said, listening to music is the most important thing for me, and I MUST record radio.
Does the Sony Xperia Z1 have the smart stay thing?

Photos won't show up in Album (Sony Xperia)?
Hi, about 3 days ago I was browsing the photos in my album on my phone (Sony Xperia P) when it froze. After a while I decided to do a restart. But once it had restarted, for some strange reason, when I opened the album app it just shows a black screen with "Pictures" and "My albums" at the top (almost as if the photos had all been deleted). I know I still have all my photos because when I open a file manager app they all appear and I can actually view them using the album app. I need help here because at the moment I can't change profile photos (for example whatsapp) without having to click on "album" to choose the photo and I just end up with a black screen... Please help!!!

I'm afraid it does not officially make it to Marshmallow. As Sony itself has announced, confirming its Z1 android update lifecycle being passed the mentioned period of 18 months.Though you can still try the open source android roms like AOSP roms, CyanogenMod roms, etc. (if you know how to)
Which is better, Sony or Samsung for an Android mobile phone?
Disclaimer : My answer is with respect to their android phones present in Indian Market.I would start by saying that comparing two specific devices in same(or almost same) price range is what makes more sense to me. Compare the general specs like processor, ram, camera, storage, display a little about other technical details. If the phones are already in market look for some reviews it definitely helps. It's just the way i do it because both the brands are pretty big/huge/strong and are continuously working on giving "the" phone to the market with their every new device. Coming back to your question, which is a better brand. As simple as they say, achieve smaller goals and big ones are just one step away.Samsung has done this more number of times with its devices than Sony. Be it their flagship phones like S series or Note series or be it the middle range ones like Ace, Grand, A series or the little cheaper ones like Y series, now J series.Samsung leads the market and sony is now faaaaaaaar behind Samsung. But but but... you never know what sony is upto its just a matter of time, few hits in place and sony would be back in competition and may even become the leader.In Conclusion, Samsung today is a better and stronger brand than Sony in terms of android devices but if you are really going to buy one for youself look more for device specific shit than being a Brand freak.

Firstly, close the application and try opening it again. If still it isn't working, go to settings>application>camera and select force stop, also select clear cache. And try opening the application again. If still it doesn't work, try the Indian way, restart your phone.
