Poll Do You Still Get Easter Baskets On Easter Sunday If So What Do You Look Forward To .

Partial pressure...varies with seasons *please have a look*?

Off the top of my head I will tell you that in the northern hemisphere during winter many trees will be covered in snow, this will make them being less able to get sunlight, and therefore less photosynthesis, that is they will grow less. This means less CO2 will be absorbed during winter and therefore increase the partial pressure of CO2 in the atmosphere.

The second half is that in the summer there will be more forest fires than winter, therefore increasing the CO2 in atmosphere.

For school purposes i choose answer 1, but keep in mind 2 is also true.

Looking for some interesting and relatively easy "at home" fundraising ideas?

Hi all : ) I am looking for some interesting ideas for a fundraiser. My 10 month old daughter passed away from SIDS on May 2, 2006. I found that involving myself with SIDS related events, and trying to start my own, is helping me through the grieving process and to remember my baby girl. So far I've come up with the idea of a beef and beer, which is in the works, but I'd like some other ideas that could be executed quicker than planning a full blown-out gathering. I recently heard that the SIDS Foundation are getting that much closer to finding the cause for SIDS and I'm hoping that if enough money is raised, a cause, followed by a cure, will be in the near future, hopefully before my time on earth is done. Thank you for all of your help and advice and I look forward to your answers : )

Teenagers, would you rather young parents or older Parents?

Well im not a teen anymore (only just turned 20) but i do have young parents.
My mum was 21 when she had me and im pregnant with her first grandchild (as you know).
That means she is becoming a nana at 41 and both she and i couldnt be more thrilled.
She will be able to run around with my kids and she will also be around to see them grow up.

I think its definately nice to have younger parents as they can relate more to me and my partner.
We are both into the same music, she is into fashion and is more active than me! She is fun and i can relate to her.
My partner is older than me and so as a result i have friends who are only a couple of years younger than them.

I guess growing up i didnt enjoy it so much- you try to get away with things and its not so easy when your parents were only doing the same things 20 years before you.

I never felt embarrassed about them being young- i was actually pretty proud of it.

I feel like my parents will be around longer and while its a personal decison when to have children i think people who leave it very late are a little selfish. (Again this is to do with how long they will be around for.)

Oh ands why is it that you always get personally attacked or judged when you ask questions on here? Good on you for firing back.

What are some of your Fondest Memories Of Spring?

What a lovely question! I remember as children we would celebrate May Day on the first day of May. We would make May baskets and fill them with little treats and such. My mother helped us make our May baskets from old wallpaper that we would roll into cones and glue them together. Then we would make a little handle on the top to carry them. After we filled them with treats, spring flowers, etc., we would go bring them to our friends house, leave them on the steps, knock on the door or ring the bell, and run. They would come out of the house and try to catch the person that left the May basket - and if they did, they got a kiss. My, I haven't thought about that in ages!

Which is the best option the colonization of space or the ocean floor?

Under water is good, it is a 3d environment, already has gravity, and, depending on the depth, does not require much engineering strength in the walls. Oxygen can be made from seawater and mining and fish farming can be carried out with very little cost for "shipping" product for sale.
Power sources can be thorium reactors. These have already been developed, but were dumped because they did not produce fissionable material for making bombs.
Thorium reactors can be used to "burn" plutonium, spent uranium rods such as those ad Fukushima and elsewhere and other waste products from the nasty dirty reactors

Space colonies near Earth using any form of sphere or torus is really stupid. We already have pressure vessels with concave ends. The best design for a space habitat would be a rotating large diameter cylinder with a smaller cylinder inside it as the "roof" and with concave ends. The two cylinders would have columns periodically to give strength to the outer and inner cylinders. This design gives a much larger usable surface area to mass ratio. It would be spun to provide 1g on the inner surface of the outer cylinder. Windows and mirrors would provide natural sunlight and this could provide a 24 hour "day" by spinning the main mirror at a different speed to the cylinders

This design does not require two counter rotating cylinders and huge bearings like the O'Neill design, does not have wasted curved walls like the Torus and does not have wasted area like a sphere.

Obviously, the ISS can contain air without being spherical
