Ps3 Messed Up From Power Outage Yesterday Help

PS3 messed up from power outage yesterday?! HELP!!!?

Well, yesterday I was using my PS3. Then a huge storm came and the power went out for a while. Then, I turned my PS3 on and it said data is corrupted and has to be restored. So, I restored it and after that it went to a black screen and it went back to the data has been corrupted thing. So, I called PS Support and they told me to restore the whole thing. So, I did and then it told me to do the steps. While I was setting the time up and stuff, I heard a noise. It was like a cricket chirping sort of and then little beeps. It sounded like it was coming from the hard drive. So that's my first question. What does that mean? Then, I decided to play Fight Night Champion and it justs freezes and freezes and it's really annoying. So that's my 2nd question. Is it a part of the first problem, or something else? Please help, I'm desperate!

Is the white stuff on my power cable dangerous?

I was playing Call of Duty Black ops when i looked down at my mess of cables. I have a lamp the also plugs into the same power outlet. When i looked down my lamp(that i leave on 10 out of 24 hours of the day) had this white stuff on it. I didn't think too much of it at that time but i looked at it again later and i was nervous that it could be dangerous.
Anyone have any idea's as to what it could and if it is dangerous? Will it continue to spread? I don't want my ps3 to be destroyed.
I looked on the internet and it sounds like Battery post corrosion. Not sure though.
Thank you very much.

When it comes to home cordless phones what does DECT 6.0 mean?

One of the best phones on the market right now is the Panasonic DECT 6.0...! its Giga-Hrz not Mega-Hrz

New DECT 6.0 Technology
-Interference Free Communication
-Increased Clarity / Enhanced Security
-Wider Range / Network Friendly
1.9GHz Cordless Phone
-Frequency Dedicated for Cordless Phones by the FCC ......

The original DECT frequency band (1880 MHz–1900 MHz) is used in all countries in Europe. Outside Europe, it is used in most of Asia, Australia and South America.
In the United States, the Federal Communications Commission in 2005 changed channelization and licensing costs in a nearby band (1920 MHz–1930 MHz, or 1.9 GHz), known as Unlicensed Personal Communications Services (UPCS), allowing DECT devices to be sold in the U.S. with only minimal changes. DECT devices made for use in the U.S. use the brand DECT 6.0 to distinguish them from both DECT devices used elsewhere and U.S. cordless equipment operating in the 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz ISM bands. The "6.0" is a version number (as in software), not a spectrum band; the term "6.0 GHz" for DECT 6.0 phones is incorrect

Does weather have an effect on wifi?

I have a modem/router (basically two in one), and recently I've been having internet problems on my laptop, psp, and ps3. We've been having rain recently I think (I was gone for awhile), and it seems that, although I have a connection to the internet (usually 6 bar connection), when I try to search a page I get "Page could not be found", and when I disconnect from the access point and then recconnect, It say's on the connection that there's "limited access" or "no access" which... well causes me to not be able to load pages.
This has been happening for the past few nights, and I don't know what's causing it. (also, I know it's not my laptop because it's been happening with my PS3 and PSP as well. Also, my laptop worked fine at my dad's over the weekend, and this happened last week as well).
thanks!
