Rocky Marciano Vs Roy Jones Jr. Who Wins

Rocky Marciano vs Roy Jones Jr. Who wins?

I respect Roy Jones Jr for his enormous talent having the ability to get away from punches because of his gret natural skills and reflexes and he did defeat John Ruiz. But John Ruiz isn't even in the same class as the great Rocky Marciano! Also Roy Jones did get knocked out by Tarver and Tarver isn't in the same league with either Jersey Joe Walcott, Archie Moore or Ezzard Charles and to put it simply Roy may have landed some good shots on the Rock that he would have taken and would have finally been caught. And once the Rock hit you, you were hurt and usually on the way out. Roy Jones Jr. is not as strong or as powerful as Marciano and not as great either because Marciano had that something extra that made him a great fighter. Roy would look good for a few rounds but Marciano's strength and power would be the difference.

Great question my friend

Marciano KO8

Roy Jones Jr v Rocky Marciano who wins?

Rocky...188lbs
Roy.......188lbs
Marciano would send him to the promised land. Rocky retired undefeated...how did Roy do.......

Rocky Marciano vs Roy Jones Jr. Who wins?

I cannot help but think of Tarver's left hook dropping Jones and questioning Roy's chin. At his peak, Roy Jones Jr. was almost untouchable, but his peak was around 160. Ezzard Charles was every bit as slick as Jones, but in truth I cannot imagine any human being, even Bruce Lee being as quick as Roy, and Marciano's pressure eventually got to Charles, I think Rock would have eventually got to Jones in similar fashion. I think Roy would have won every round he fought against Rock, even the round that Rock's Suzy Q put Roy to sleep in. Eventually Marciano would land on Jones's chin, and I don't think Roy could have handled the power Marciano brought behind it. You have to figure Marciano would be the favorite and Jone the underdog in this one.

Who would win in a fight between Rocky Marciano and Joe Louis in their prime?

There is very little doubt that Joe Louis would have beaten Rocky Marciano if somehow they could have fought in their prime. Louis was a polished boxer with much faster hands, yet he had head-snapping power in both. He held the title for twelve years, which would be a great achievement even if all his opponents had been subpar, because on a given day a so-so boxer can beat a great one, like Rubin Carter beat Hall of Famer Emile Griffith in one round, and Olive McCall and Hasim Rahman both KOed Lennox Lewis. Also, Marciano was really a cruiserweight, a division that did not exist in his time. He fought at around 187 pounds, which is actually below the cruiserweight limit. Joe Louis, at 6′ 2″, was big enough to fight the bigger heavyweights of today. Although Marciano was used to facing and beating bigger men, and always beat the odds, it is very hard to pick him over one of the greatest of all time. Joe Louis by TKO or unanimous decision.

Who would win: Rocky Marciano vs Joe Calzaghe?

Rocky was a legend. He's a small heavyweight who, despite limited skills, hit like a mule. He faced tough competition and never lost a single bout. Calzaghe, on the other hand, is a bit overrated. He retired undefeated but never fought the best, save for Hopkins. Marciano would knock this guy out.

Rocky Marciano vs Roy Jones Jr at Light-Heavyweight?

Once again as usual, I seem to be in minority, but there is no doubt in my mind that Roy Jones Jr would have won this fight. At his best, he was the unbeatable fighter. RJJ from the second Montell Griffin fight was the best, most impressive light heavyweight ever to step foot in the ring and there is no boxer in history of this sport who could have taken that man at 175 lbs.

Same goes for Marciano. He was a great champion and a true warrior in the ring, no one is disputing that, but his style and the athletic disadvantages he'd be facing here would give him almost no chance in this fight. Rocky had vicious power, but still, he was a non athletic, slow punching, slow moving, straight forward slugger. His best assets were, power, stamina and the unbreakable fighting spirit, that no quit, never say die attitude. But still, these would have only gotten him so far here
.
The Match:

Rocky fought through physical disadvantages before, but not against the fastest, sharpest, most athletic boxer ever at his natural weight. Only way he could have won this match is by KO and in order to get it he would have to get Roy to stand right there in front of him and engage in a shootout. There is no way in the world that would have happened. Roy would be clever. He would stay on the move and box, keep away from his power and go in and out quick and drill Rocky before he can counter. Speed difference here would have been too much and Roy would win round after round after round this way. Rocky's best chance would be to get in and try to get him at close range, but that would turn out extremely difficult, if not impossible because he would have no solution for Roy's speed and movement. Roy would make sure to stay out and not get caught up in too much clinching because he'd be aware that this is where Rocky could do his work and inflict damage. He would probably have won a few rounds this way, but in the end I honestly see RJJ dominating this fight and putting on a clinic here. Rocky would spend most of the time looking for that one punch KO, but it would never come and he would end up getting schooled in the end and loosing a wide unanimous decision.

RJJ by UD: 117 - 111 across the cards.

Rocky marciano vs floyd mayweather jr?

Marciano would lose. He has no power, speed, conditioning, heart, or chin, because he's dead.

lol

Marciano would beat him easily. The dude took punishment and kept coming forward while punishing you with super powerful shots at the same time.

Who would win a boxing match between Rocky Marciano and Joe Frazier?

A great battle of attrition between two of my favorite fighters! For this to be really fair we would have to give Rocky modern training and nutrition! This would allow both men to fight in the 205 range! Ali who famously sparred with Rocky in the Tournament of champions! Had said Rocky was better than Joe! This is a battle of world class infighters! Rocky because he came from a era of infighters! Joe because it’s where he had to live! It’s very brutal and very rough. Rocky has the advantage because Frazier was famous for his slow start! Than Joe roars back to take the middle rounds! It’s heavyweight version of best left hook vs one best right hands in boxing! After 15 it’s a split draw! No losers here!
