Rottwieler Eats Very Badly

Why does my rottweiler's farts smell so badly?

Probably cause of its diet. human table scraps will do that, bad dog food will do that, eating dead stuff or poop can do it. Eating gassy foods can do it...And, as a rule, Most dog gas smells terrible, anyway. My dogs can almost run me out of the house sometimes, and they're house dogs and on a controlled diet.

Why are Rottweilers banned?

Just shitty owners who had their dogs attack other people due to either poor breeding temperaments, poor socialization, poor attack training, or a combination of all three. Plus both Rottweilers and American pit-bulls and Bullies have a reputation of being a cheap attack dogs with impressive looks and are associated with drug or gangster culture. It’s a huge mess.

How to properly wean Rottweiler puppies?

I have been helping a friend of mine, who is a Rottweiler breeder, with her most recent litter. One of these puppies is mine. They are almost 7 weeks now, but I'm not certain he has weaned them properly. There are 9 puppies, and the ***** is never with them anymore. The ***** nursed exclusively until 5/12 weeks of age, and now the puppies will not touch anything that isn't liquid slop. They won't eat mash at all unless it is a liquid. I'm concerned that they aren't developing proper eating habits. We tried reducing the amount of liquid mixed with ground up food, but they will not go near it. He wants me to take my puppy at 71/2 weeks, but that's next Thursday, and I am not certain he'll be ready to come home yet. I don't mind making the slop at home - but at what point should he be eating solid food? I thought they'd be eating it by now, but he didn't even offer slop until 51/2 weeks - is my puppy just going to be slow to accept hard kibble?

Do Rottweilers have weak bones ?!?

hmmmmm.... well those are things I've not heard before but we do suffer badly with osteosarcomas, but that isn't 'weak' bones.

Not heard the one about too much protein leading to weak bones either. Other than osteosarcoma's we have far more problem with joints & ligaments than actual bones.

Nope, don't know that either.

There is no such thing as a German Rottweiler... as such. There are rottweilers from German lines as there are from UK lines / American lines / Australian lines etc... as a lot of countries tend to develop a dog that has its ancestry within that country... but no actual dog called a German Rottweiler... other than the name Rottweiler coming from Rottweil, which is a fantastic place to visit if you like rotts.

The misunderstood rottweiler?

this is probably old news to most but with the rottweiler made out to be the badboy of the dog world by the media, what do you think of this?

my friend had a website that listed dogs from smartest to dumbest and I was so surprised that the Rottweiler ranked number 9 for most intelligent dog(they judged this by what % the dogs listen to commands the first time, and by how many tries it takes to teach them a new command) Also everything I read about this breed suggests they are very loving and loyal.

why do you think they have had so many attacks? is it because they're just the ones you hear about more (along with pit bulls) in the news? or is it because they are being bred badly and owned by more abusive owners than other breeds (besides pitbulls.) Or is it because their jaws can do more damage?
please real answers! thanks.

German Shepherd or Rottweiler?

Hey!

You have the same name as me(almost), so I starred it lol

anyway I would say Rottweiler

Do Rottweilers shed a lot?

YES! And the bigger the dog the more hair to shed. It may be shorter than say a Huskie or Chow, but they shed the same amount of hair per square inch of skin as a Chihuahua or Whippet. Dogs allowed to be outside and in a natural environment, no artificial lights for long hours, no heating or air conditioning, will do a mass shedding in the spring and it is over with….they then put on a heavier coat in the fall. But house dogs shed year-round.

Why is my Rottweiler so gassy?

Change the diet to one that excludes grain, beef and its derivatives and dairy food. Do not give her bought treats, instead try hot dogs, chicken or hard boiled eggs.

Try splitting her food and feeding her two of three times a day and feed her at shoulder height so that she does not need to stoop when eating.

You could also try half a teaspoon of bi carbonated soda in goats yogurt to settle her tummy, I know that goats yogurt is dairy however its milder than cows yogurt.

Last but not least, do you know not to feed a large dog either before or after exercise?. Ideally feed her when you get up and let her rest for two hours, then rest her again before her evening meal. The rule is a gap of two hours either side of food.
