Sports Marketing Question School I Need To Create A New Product That

What would be a good Sports Marketing Research topic (study)? Something that can be researched and tested?

A few ideas:

is there interest in selling assigned seating to games played in a bleacher style gym - some people like the top row where there is some back support; some like front row; others want something else? you could do a survey of people on their way into the gym, find out how much they'd be willing to pay, see if it is a total bomb - just make sure you tell them it is just for your class or you'll have some folks ticked off forever....

find out if there is interest in starting a Bball or hockey or tennis or ??? exhibition match. Like the pre-season BBall tournaments in Hawaii and Alaska (great Alaska shootout). Obviously this might be bigger than you could pull off, but you could find out if there is interest in the topic. Once again, the preseason tourneys recruit student atheletes. A Division II student has little worries about getting on national TV - unless their university has a big tournament that draws division I players - the television of the events on ESPN is what draws good Div. II players to the school - and it helps athletes get exposure.

Smaller items - new surface of an athletic field, roof for it, or build it period..... sold by a marketing idea - an auction for sports related items, dinner made by coach, selling labor of football team members for a day (money goes to team not to player).

hope it helps

What is Sports Marketing or Sports Management?

I may not be the BEST source of information about Sports Management, as I'm in the process of applying for Georgetown's MBA in Sports Management now. I'm a recent college grad from the business school at Carnegie Mellon, and I'm in the working world now (I can help you out).

When in doubt, avoid Marketing. If you are balls to the wall passionate about it, do it. I changed my concentration 3 times in college...went from Finance to Marketing back to Ops. Management. Marketing is a wishy-washy concentration and to be honest, with how expensive classes are now at universities, no one should be wasting that money on learning how to brand products and stuff. When you graduate, especially in these times, you'll want a degree with higher demand in the corporate world. Go with Management at the very least, Operations/Accounting/Finance are always safe and smart. Take marketing on the side if you love it.

Sports Management has millions of opportunities within it, I know that. Lots of people want in, but I get the feel that if you're smart, work hard and are good with people you can really excel. I'd go for it, and wish I aligned myself with it earlier in life. Because now that I'm doing 9-5, I know I really need to be passionate about my work in 3 years.

When in doubt, go with a management or finance degree and work for a 3.3 or higher, so that you can set yourself up to do what you want later and not be limited. Good luck bro.

Product ideas for marketing project?

how about a robot that prepares foods on the stove or in the microwave, in the broiler or on the bar b que. It opens, cleans, slices, dices, rinses, cooks, adds seasonings to the predetermined amount based on it's program loading software. It stirs and serves meals and pours wine and makes and serves strong drinks. Also, When the meals over, then she busses the table, washes the dishes and cleans the kichen before retiring for the evening. You can call it "Julia's Child" the Kitchen Friendly Robot

What would you do if you were first to enter the market with a product you were not so sure everyone wanted but you knew that the product was needed?

Sell it. Test it. Validate it.People don’t do what they need to do; they do what they want to do. If you, me, and everyone else spend money based on our needs, many existing — but stupid — products wouldn’t exist today. So, your goal really is to identify if people WANT your product. But don't ask them. People don’t tell the truth. Instead, sell your product (product idea) even before it’s ready. This was how I built AppSumo, Sumo, and then Monthly1K.Here is the step-by-step way to do it.Know your audience. Niche down — if you’re selling to everyone, you’re selling to no one. Target only a small group of people and study them incredibly well. Know who they are, their desires, and their pains.Jot down your idea in details. Figure out what pain it helps to solve, how the product (or services) solves the pain, and what other benefits it brings to your customers.(P.S.: #1 and #2 are interchangeable depends on how you put them. You can pick a group of audience and then find solutions for them. Or you can come up with a business idea first and find a group of audience later.)Set up a way to get paid. Don’t overcomplicate this, cash is a pretty good option.Create a Minimal Viable Prototype OR build a sales page/flyer/email/video OR do both. And then show it to your target audience.Get them to pay you for your idea. Set a small sales goal for this. If you hit your goal, go to the next step. If you don’t, go back to step 1.Optimize everything. Study your customers further, improve your product, and fine-tune your sales pitch. Set a bigger goal and repeat the selling process. Now you are probably wondering: “But Noah, I really have an idea that everyone would need! Why should I go small?”Cool! Go validate your assumption and prove yourself right.

Cause Marketing: Are there any examples of k-12 non profit schools licensing their brand to for profit companies?

The Boston Red Sox or rather Fenway Sports Group pays a significant amount of money to Boston College athletics to develop a year-round collegiate sports marketing and multi-year partnership program.
