Summer Jobs Easier To Find For Teens In 2013

Do you have any plans for summer 2013?

It's gonna be my last summer before college, so I plan on doing so much with my friends. I'm probably going to be the only one moving away, and pretty far away, so I really want to spend time with them. We want to go on vacation somewhere, still need to plan the little details. I also plan on getting a job, need to start searching for something. I'd love to do some travelling, but doubt it'll be possible since I won't really have the money since college is obviously $$$.

So yeah, going to be spending my last couple months with my friends, doing fun shizz :)

Oh and since i'll be under 18 still, I get a free gym membership for any gym in the province, so yeah going to be working out a lot!

I'm still 16 years old and I want to have part-time job. How can I find part time jobs in Jakarta?

Have you considered Starbucks barista?I was applying for their part-time barista when I was in college. Just for the sake of having job experience that is not related with my area (i.e. economics). From what I heard, the salary is quite nice compared to other f&b joints. Additionally, a free beverage for every 4 hours and being stationed in a crowd area, with air-conditioned store.Be mindful tho. The reason why I was rejected was they expected 6-month working tenure, while I only had 3-month summer holiday. They also expect you to work 20–40 hours, with 4 or 8 hours per work shift. Working in retail can be also quite damning, you know. That’s why it’s called retail therapy for buyer but retail torture for the service provider. Also, not quite sure 16 years old is in their age range but there’s no harm to ask them right?Other alternatives for part-time job: courses teacher (english, math, foreign language, etc), paid volunteer for any event, paid audience for tv live shows.

How do I make money as a teenager in data science? I have already completed an internship.

Since you've already completed an internship, if your performance is good, you can reach out to your existing manager and ask if there are any contract work that you can do for them on a project by project basis. That's the easiest way because you will be in a familiar playground. The harder way would be go to upwork and bid on jobs. But usually a lot of people underbid to get experience or some of them have really good portfolio to attract clients. So you need to be specialized in working with one type of work or client or industry and go deep in order to attract the right clients.Good luck with your search

Where can a 15 year old in Massachusetts get a job?

First off you need to make sure that you're eligible for a work permit. In MA most work permits are handled through the schools, and they won't give them if you have bad grades (bad grades meaning check with your guidance office because I wasn't doing very well when I got one). You also have to already have a job lined up in order to get said permit because they're written specifically for that job.

In my experience as a teen looking for a job there aren't many chain places that will hire under 16, and even more won't hire under 18. I'll leave a list of places that I have not been able to be hired by because of age. My suggestion is to find a small place in your area, like a family owned and run store (keep in mind that some don't hire outside of family, but others enjoy hiring local students). Usually when a business has an age minimum it's because they have their "home base" in another state, and they use the age minimum from that state to define what it will be for the whole chain. I finally found a job at the Disney Store, and we tell people who come to apply all the time that we cannot hire under 18 because we adhere to the standards of the park casting system, which is 18+

The businesses I know do not hire under 18:
Claire's/Icing
FYE
Disney
Wet Seal
Best Buy
Spencer's

Although, if you're going to be 16 by fall, Spencer's has a Halloween store called "Spirit Halloween" that opens up September-November that I worked at when I was 16 and it was a really good experience for me. It's only a temp job, but it's a good placeholder for until you find a permanent job.

Teen doing Taxes? (Massachusetts)?

I am 16 years old and I worked this summer (2013) and I also worked during the winter (2013), I made over a certain amount so I have to file my taxes. I was going through them and entering all the data into H&R Block today and got to a certain point on one of my W-2 forms that requested the "Federal Income Tax withheld" and I discovered that it was blank, which must indicate that none were taken out of my paychecks. I honestly cannot recall if anything was taken out or not and I cannot find any of my old pay stubs because it was almost a year ago. My other W-2 form says how much was taken out for "Federal Income Tax withheld" so I am wondering what I should do, does this make sense because I did receive a W-2 form? And if this were my fault, what will happen? Any info would be great, thank you!
