Swollen gum between two front teeth from braces?
I've had braces for a lil over three months now and I had an gap between my front teeth. A week ago I went to the ortho to get my braces tightened and less than an hou later my gap closed fully and about 30 minutes after that I noticed my gums in the front and back puffed up. I've used salt water, I put ice on my gums, I flossed, and its still swollen. It has went down a tad bit but its still ver puffy. It doesnt bleed when I floss or brush over it so I dont think its very serious. But I just want to know is their anything that I can do to make the swellin go down faster and how long will it take to go back to normal

yeah i had that once. i thought i was growing another row of teeth, my best friend called me a shark for like a week. but you mst have just cut the roof of your mouth or something. theres nothing you can do about it. it should go away from sometime between 3-5 days. hope this helps you.

wow, I hope you are dramatizing. Here is my experience. I have an overbite, with an overbite your lower teeth go up behind your front teeth. In my case it is such that my lower incisors actually touch the tissue behind the upper incisors. Ordinarily this is not a problem, However, if I eat very hot food like pizza fresh from the oven or deli - or crunchy tacos, I can injure the tissue and it will swell and make eating difficult. This is my experience. I hope you don't have periodontal disease. Do you brush your teeth often. After meals is the dentists idea but at a bare minimum you need once a day. If it is periodontal disease, yes, cutting it out may be part of the surgery. Treatment is much less expensive if you clean your teeth and rinse with Chlorhexidine oral rinse. This will help kill the bad bacteria and let your mouth heal. The bad side effect is it will make your teeth crusty so you need to be sure to clean them often. Good luck

You obviously have a popcorn skin under the tissue causing the swelling and pain. You will need to tie a single knot in a piece of floss, place the floss in between the teeth (with the knot on the inside or in the mouth) as you normally would, then gently pull the floss through allowing the knot to slide under the tissue so it can catch the popcorn skin and pull it out. You may need to do this several times to catch the skin, but it will remove it. Once you remove it, rinse with some really warm salt water several times a day for the next few days. This will reduce the bacteria in your mouth and ease the soreness. You can also take an Ibuprofen if you are experiencing pain. If there isn't any improvement or you can't remove the skin then you will need to see your dentist to have it removed. Don't worry it's nothing serious, we see it all the time with pop corn eaters. Always floss after eating pop corn!
Swollen,painful bump behind my two front teeth?
In 13 and my two front teeth have already fallen out when i was younger. The other day i was eating sunflower seeds and five minutes later a bump formed behind my front teeth. I've had this before but it was at least 7 years ago so i dont remember how i had to treat or what it actually is. It hurts when i touch it with my tongue and when i bite down on something hard like an apple. Anyone know what it is and how i can make it go away?

So, yeah, I have these two bumps behind my upper front teeth; I have no idea what it looks like, I can only feel them. It s quite annoying. And there s a tiny white bump above my upper front teeth on the gums..I ve been doing research on what these bumps could be, and one of the causes I came across was hot food. So then I remembered I did eat really, really hot pizza on Friday. But could these bumps would last that long? What could it be??? Also I had X-rays about two weeks ago, no sign of a tooth growing. Bump/Blister behind my two front teeth.?
I have a small white bump or blister behind my two front teeth. I have had it for a week and a half. It usually only hurts when it comes into contact with something like my bottom teeth or when I bite into food. Ive gargled salt water but relief is only temporary. It has now become pretty irritating. Any ideas what this is? I thought it be silly to go to a dentist over such a little bump but Im about to.

around 3 years ago i noticed a small swollen little bump behind my two front teeth and even since then it started bothering me. its not painful but just really annoying and almost everyday it will be alright and then out of nowhere it will start bothering me and ill have to keep touching it with my tongue which will irritate it more and make it worse. Ive been to 3 different dentists and they all say its normal but every time i ask someone they tell me nothing bothers them like that unless they eat pizza and burn that area or get pop corn stuck in there to cause it in the first place. This thing is really annoying and i need help figuring out why this is irritating the gum behind my two front teeth. if anyone knows what this or how to stop it i would appreciate it.
