If there are no ties in the NHL, how are teams' records arranged as such: 12-2-2?
The first column is for wins. No matter how you win, you get 2 points. A win in regulation =2 points Awin in O.T.= 2 points A win in a shoot-out = 2 points. The second column is for losses in regulation. If you don't score as many as the other guy in 60 minutes, you get a loss. The third column is for losses in O.T. or the shoot-out. If you are tied at the end of regulation, and lose 5 seconds into O.T. you still get one point for the tie at the end of 60 minutes, the other team gets 2 points for the win. If you are tied at the end of regulation, and lose in the shoot-out 1-0 or 247-246, you still get one point for the tie at the end of regulation, and the other team gets the 2 points for the win. Make sense now? Steve..
Has there ever been an NFL game with a 2-0 score?
There have been five different games in NFL History with a score of 2–0.November 29, 1923: Akron Pros 2, Buffalo All-Americans 0November 21, 1926: Kansas City Cowboys 2, Buffalo Rangers 0November 29, 1928: Frankford Yellow Jackets 2, Green Bay Packers 0October 16, 1932: Green Bay Packers 2, Chicago Bears 0September 18, 1938: Chicago Bears 2, Green Bay Packers 0And yes, Ved is right. There were different ways to get safeties back then that made this easier. The first 2–0 game, in 1923, came about because of a fence in the end zone where if the ball hit it, it was a “ground rule safety” and thus 2 points.Of course, there is a much more ridiculous way to score 2 points, but there is none the less multiple (!) ways to score 2 points in a game. The first, obviously known, is a safety. The second, a way less known, obscure section of the NFL Rules implemented in 2015 that makes scoring 1 point in an NFL Game Possible. However, it comes as a pre-requisite to a touchdown, and as such does not work for this scenario.oh uh, by the way, Pro Football Reference has a page with every NFL score ever where you can search for a certain score and see if it’s ever happened. How often do MLB teams recover from 2-0 deficits in division series?
The Division Series began in its current form in 1995, after the MLB re-adjusted its format to have 3 divisions per league. They also had it in 1981 due to circumstances around a strike that year. So through 2015, there have been 88 Divisional series match-ups.Of those, only 7 times has a team come back from from losing the first 2 games of the series:1981 NL Division Series: Los Angeles Dodgers over Houston Astros1995 AL Division Series: Seattle Mariners over New York Yankees1999 AL Division Series: Boston Red Sox over Cleveland Indians2001 AL Division Series: New York Yankees over Oakland Athletics2003 AL Division Series: Boston Red Sox over Oakland Athletics2012 NL Division Series: San Francisco Giants over Cincinnati Reds2015 AL Division Series: Toronto Blue Jays over Texas Rangers[1] Postseason results from Baseball ReferenceFootnotes[1] World Series Winners, Stats, and Results and Postseason Series
What does it mean when a football team is 0-6...they won 6 or lost 6?
The number on the left is the win column; the number on the right is the loss column. 0-6 means zero wins, six losses. 2-3 means two wins, three losses. 6-0 means six wins................ well, I'm sure you've got it now. ^_^
What is FC Barcelona's unbeaten record? I remember it lost against Espanyol in Copa del Rey this season. Also, it lost last season’s last match.
Hi, the record that is being discussed here is about LaLiga only and not of any other competition. As pointed out by you correctly, they lost to Espanol in Copa Del Rey, but it doesn’t disturb there record of LaLiga which dates back to there loss to malaga (2–0) on 8 April 2017, and now after exactly one year i.e 7 April 2018, they have matched the unbeaten all time LaLiga record. Some stats :- The record was 38 games unbeaten set by Real Sociedad spanning over two seasons 1978–79/1979–80 . But, Barcelona is more efficient as they won 31 as compare to Real Sociedad’s 21 win. The record (IF) might be broken at Camp Nou when they host Valencia.Hope it helps. Cheers :)
What are some footballing feats that you think will stand the test of time?
How about a football match in which both teams were trying to score own goals? The game in question was Barbados vs Grenada in the 1994 Caribbean Cup. To make the tournament more interesting, a local Caribbean genius had thought up a few new rules:(1) Even group matches couldn’t end in a draw. If 90 minutes didn’t bring a winner, there would be extra time.(2) In that extra time, each goal would count double. Looks harmless enough on paper, but in practice, it proved more interesting than anyone had intended. The final group match between Barbados and Grenada presented the following situation. Barbados had to beat Grenada by two goals in order to reach the KO stage. Any other result would see Grenada proceed. Already in the first half, Barbados managed to take an early 2-0 lead. Exactly what they needed. But then Grenada made it 2-1. There were seven minutes left to play. Barbados were about to go out. Unless they scored the 3-1. Or the 2-2.An equalizer would automatically result in extra time, giving them 30 more minutes to score a single goal that would count as the two goals they needed. One Barbadian player was smart enough to realize this. He ran straight towards his own goal and, after exchanging a few passes with the clueless goalie, shot the ball into the net. 2-2. It took a few seconds to sink in, but when Grenada had realized what happened, they knew what to do. They had to score an own goal as well to avert the extra time. With only 5 minutes remaining the crowd witnessed the spectacle of Barbados now defending both goals. They managed to hold on. Once extra time began, the Barbadians switched back to normal tactics and scored the decisive goal. The rules meant they had won by 4-2. A place in the final round was rightfully theirs.I think this one will definitely stand the test of time in the Football history!Source: The Craziest Game in History ~ Barbados vs Grenada

This has not occurred since the playoffs went to a 16 game format to win it, and hopefully Pittsburgh will not do it this year.
