With a BSNL broadband connection, you get a modem, which you then connect to your PC's RJ45 port via Ethernet cable.Suppose you buy a (normal, not ADSL) Wi-Fi router and instead of connecting to PC, you connect it to this router and configure the PPPoE connection in router's configuration page, it should work.There is a possibility that BSNL is bound to your PC's MAC address. This is an easily solvable problem. Almost all of the modern routers have a functionality to "fake" a MAC address. So you simply copy your PC's MAC address and configure that for your router through router's configuration page.*I say in theory because I haven't tried this yet. I just bought a normal router which I am now going to try with BSNL connection. 1 may be the connections ar not in the right place. usually the wifi routers will have a connection a diffrent color than the rest of the connections that would be the connection you would use to connect the router to the modem. 2. if the router came with a cd then use it to set it up. 3 make sure the user id and password the isp gave you is right. 4. sometimes modems are not compatible with some routers.

hello, I recently switched to bsnl wimax and I have been trying to configure it with my wireless router. . I am getting the internet through my PC with wired connection (wimax). But wifi doesnt seem to work. I have a belkin F7D1401 modem router. it only has a adsl input port and 4 ethernet ports. the wimax has a poe ethernet port and a data port. I have never used a wimax before and I don't know how it works.. how am i supposed to connect the router with the wimax? I am new here and did do a search about the set up for a bsnl wimax but couldn't find one. can someone help me out?

D-link wireless N 300 modem router red light?
The internet status light usually goes red when the internet signal is weak or broken. But first try rebooting your modem (switch off power for at least 10seconds then repower). Sometimes this clears it. Sometimes it's a problem with your ISP and that also clears after a few mins/hours when they sort out the problem. But it could be an individual problem at your end and a recent switch of ISP sounds like a possible cause - so try calling them at TPG and see what they say.
