Want A Job At 14 In California

Where can you get a job at age 14 in California?

the legal age to be gainfully employed is 14.......
not 15 or 16 and definitely not 13.
in california it is legal to work in just about all the same jobs as someone 16 or 17, just less hours a day and a week.

many employers just won't hire those under 16 because of the limits that are placed on the hours that those under 16 can work.other employers do not hire minors your age due to bad experiences with employees that are young. so you must be able to show through your words and actions that you are:
dependable, punctual, hard working, a team player, trainable and coach-able. you must prove that you are not like many your age who apply for a job but who don't really want to work for it......

your best opportunity is fast-food and grocery stores, they are willing to train and find it easier to provide hours that fall within the required parameters of child labor laws.

Can I apply for a job at 15 (I live in California)?

Today, I am now 15 1/2. I know I can get a driver's permit now, but can I also apply for a job in the state of California? And if so, do you have any suggestions for where?

What REAL job can a 13 year old get in California?

14 is the minimum age to get a CA work permit, unfortunately you cannot get a job, unless it's in the entertainment industry, until you are 14. And it is very difficult for kids under 16 to find jobs, in fact, it's very difficult for adults to find jobs right now. CA has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country!

Speak to your parents and ask for ideas. Maybe you have a neighbor who needs someone to entertain or tutor their child while they are busy working in the house. My son started doing that when he was about 12, teaching video games and tutoring a younger child. A parent was there during the time, getting housework and business done. Do you play an instrument? Maybe you can teach a younger child some beginning lessons. It's hard to find music teachers who aren't overly serious, and some parents just want their child to get a little experience, but not have to practice an hour or two a night.

Good luck!

What jobs can a 14 year old get that lives in California?

You can :

1) Be a sign spinner..........very popular now-a-days.

2) Be a referee for youth soccer games. No joke and it pays decent. It will not take away from your school work and it gives you something to do on weekend days. Look into your local youth soccer league because they are always hard up for refs. My son just finished the two day training, which was free of charge. Soccer season starts in a few weeks so don't put it off.

Should we move from Atlanta to California? We would have to find a job etc. My baby is 14 months and my husband is a programmer. If not, which is another good place to move?

Let me start by saying that I’ve gone from the Midwest to the Bay Area and now to ATL (shortly after welcoming a newborn). What is the motivation for moving? That needs to be understood in order to clearly answer your question.Assuming its for your husband’s programming, umm, ATL is BOOMING for programming/IT related opportunities. If he wants to join a START UP, then that’s another story. If you have a nice safety net, and your family wants the Cali life and husband wants the start up scene, then sure go for Cali, maybe consider LA or SAC, both are getting attention due to offering some lower cost options when comparing to the Bay Area.If you don’t have a safety net, and you want start ups, then go to NYC or the DMV area, both have lower cost family centric areas.MAYBE consider SALT LAKE CITY, which is also booming.Moving to anywhere, especially high price Cali, w/o a job is tough. This is only magnified when you have a family to support; I went from the midwest to cali, but I had a contract job lined up and a little bit of savings, and it was JUST ME at the time.

What age does Ralphs hire at in California?

Hi! I'm a fourteen year old girl looking for a job badly, and I was wondering what age Ralph's starts to hire at in California. I'm turning 15 in Sept, but I still want to know if the hire at 14 because I want a job now, ahaha. I know If they do hire I will end up making minimum wage as a bagger, but i still think that good. Thanks! (Kroger and Ralphs are the same)

And does anyone know what age Vons/Safeway hires at? :)

What stores in california will hire a 14 year old?

first step is making your c.v with your details about age, qualifation, address, contact details, hobbies, expected salary, areas of intersts in a job..

than mail it or send it personally to as many nearby offices / or recruitment points possible.. probably send it to minimum 5- 21 maximum.

than wait for a call for interview.

than give an interview confidently and get selected , discuss the terms of employment and than

start working ...

luck..

if you dont get selected somewhere go on giving interviews one after the other till you get it..

you can also ask your school teacher about various part time or full time jobs..

but once you start working go really very slow, and learn untill you become a professional..

Working places for 14 year old in California???

Well I'm turning 14 in july and I'd really like to have a job. I know I have to get a work permit and everything. I live in Fresno, CA which is a pretty big city. I'm open to almost everything. Except like those online surveys or newspaper person. I know 14 year olds can work places because I've read the whole law on it.

Some people said some stores in malls hire at 14, that would be ideal because I could just take the bus there. But I'm also open to regular places like McDonalds or Sonic. Or stuff like water parks since it'll be summer soon.

Please Answer!

Thanks.

Is it legal in California to work 7/14 days straight without a day off?

California requires on average 24 consecutive hours off out of 7 days worked per month.https://www.shrm.org/resourcesandtools/tools-and-samples/hr-qa/pages/istherealimittothenumberofconsecutivedaysorthenumberofhoursanexemptemployeecanwork.Oddly, where I live the rules are stricter, unusual since California usually has the most people friendly laws. Here, you must have 24 days off out of 7 days worked. So offfa day, work 12 days, then off a day, effectively averaging over 2 weeks, not a month. Unless a union contract says otherwise, none of the hours, even weekends are overtime, unless more than 40 hours per calendar week are worked. If I read the California stuff right, you could have 4 days off, then work 24. unlike Illinois, California requires overtime pay at more than 8 hours per day, rather than 40 per week. And they pay overtime for the whole day for the 7th consecutive day of work.More here.https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/faq_...
