What 55 Gallon Aquarium Starter Kit Is Better

Top Fin 55 Gallon Starter Kit?

LED lights will not grow live plants. Are you talking about live plants or fake plants? 'more light' doesnt grow plants, you need to have the right spectrum of light which is 5500-6500K and I can promise you that those led lights that came with your tank are only for viewing fish, not growing plants. Plant life is a huge investment to get started. But totally worth it once you get it set up right.

So no.

What is the best fish for a 10 gallon aquarium?

A nice dwarf gourami would make a beautiful price for a 10g tank….there is not a lot you can fit in a 10g unfortunately due to numerous factors but if your looking for a nice show piece I would keep 1 dwarf gourami…. they come in different colors from neon or powder blue to sunset red… even the “regular” colored ones are beautiful having both a mixture of red and blue :)You could also probably get away with 2 honey gouramis.. but they are much more plain then the above mentioned dwarf gourami…If you are looking for something unique… ADF (African dwarf frogs) would be neat… you could keep about 6–7 comfortably in a 10g they are entirely aquatic frogs so they live in a fully filled aquarium jusg like fish… you can hand feed the little guys and the are avtually quite funny to watch! (*** do NOT confuse with a African clawed frog!!*** they get much bigger and will need a 20g to live comfortably)If your not set on the dwarf gourami it’s really going to depend on what type of 10g you have (shape) is a tall or is it a 10g long… this makes a difference when stocking comes up… as the demensions of your tank make a big difference to what will do well and what won’t….You could also keep a beautiful betta fish and have room for some nice decor and even some live plants :)if you let me know if it’s tall or long I can help with some other options :) (some smaller tetras would work but again they need to be in schools so it depends on your dimensions

(Petsmart employees?) Should I just buy an Aquarium Kit...?

The reason why I usually don't like the kits and buy everything individually is because the kits will usually come with the cheapest equipment. I will spend the little extra money and get the equipment I want first instead of getting the kits and upgrading later.

A standard 20 gallon tank is usually 24 x 12½ x 17 Tall.

What is the best 55 gallon aquarium kit to buy? Aquaculture, Aqueon, or Top Fin?

i've bought all of these. i like the top fin ten gallon set very well i got the ten gallon the filtration isn't like the best but keeps on workin so does the heater the bulbs for the lighting stop working after 5-6 months but i guess i couldn't really complain i replaced em with better bulbs from my cvs and my plants are growing pretty well i have not figured out how many watts per gallon i'm using yet....... the ten gallon has been set up than tanken down many times in 6 months but surprisingly it's fine now i use it to breed ram ciclid, i love my ten gallon. it doesn't scatch much and is very light for the first time you need to set it up so i'd say top fin, also their food is pretty good for my fish their addicted to top fin

Is an 18-gallon aquarium tank large enough for a beginner?

Yes, if you’ve got the space, that’s great. I’ve only had room for 10 gallon tanks, but if I had the space, I’d get larger. And yes, when they get below 10 they can be challenging to maintain stable parameters. Before you get the tank, think about what fish you want, because one’s that like a lot of open space and school will want a longer tank; you could go for a 20 gallon long and have a nice school of an easy fish like some Tetras, say a school of a dozen Bloodfins or another small size. And I think someone suggested Corydoras, I agree, I’d go for one of the dwarf species so you can have a good sized school of 8–12 Corydoras Habrosus, Hastatus, or Pygmaeus; they have a VERY low bio load which is why you can add that many to your setup easily. And throw in a few Amano Shrimp.Mollies, Platys, and Guppies, are all live bearers and will quickly over run your tank with too many fish. And even if you only go for males, they are also quite dirty fish, meaning they produce a lot of waste. But, if you want livebearers, you could go with 6–8 Endler’s Livebearers, if you go with all males, they are about 3/4 of an inch but the females get a little bigger, maybe an inch and a half. Higher water temp 78+ will get you more male fry and you may be able to trade or give back to LFS.Whatever you do, I suggest you get a heater that is adjustable! They maintain stable temp generally regardless of the room temp, whereas the presets that say preset at 78 really means, as long as that’s within 10 degrees of room temp (winter that may be too cold, summer, it may be too hot). And it’s better to over filter; I have a filter rated for a 30 gallon for a 10 gallon tank (all of the fish I mentioned like a decent water flow). And make sure to have a test kit for your water parameters. But, you probably know all that since it looks like you’re doing research.Good luck!

Can anyone tell me about the Aqueon Deluxe 55 Gallon Aquarium Kit? HHEELLPP!!?

Aqueon Power Filters, about 325gph. it isn't bad for a 55gals tank. Cast about $40 with shipping.
Shatter resistant, 200-Watt Submersible Heater, +/- 1º Accuracy. It should handle a 55gals tank. But u can get a Hagen Aqua Clear Heater Submersible 300w for $25 with shipping on E-Bay.
55Gals tank Used, if u look into Craigslist, about $50-100 with top and light maybe stand too.

I am sure i can buy everything new, beside the tank and stand. for under $250.It is good enough kit, but i will shop around Craigslist and E-Bay. Mosty u can save more moneys that way.
Good Luck and hope this helps!

Can I have 1 Fantail Goldfish in a 5.5 US gallon aquarium?

Sarasa goldfish are actually pond fish. Your 5.5 gallon tank is definitely too small for the fish. You should take your goldfish starter kit back and exchange for a suitable sized tank. To keep sarassa, it's really recommended to have a small pond. I would recommend a tank no smaller than a 29 gal tank. If possible, a bigger tank around the size of a 50-55 gal tank would be better.

::EDIT::
Sorry, I misread your original post. Thought it was a Sarasa comet.

Either way, your 5.5 gal tank is still to small. You'd need something at least 20 gals, but you already mentioned that.

Goldfish are perfectly fine alone. The "lonely" factor is just perceived by us humans.. If fed properly, your fantail will outgrow your 5.5 gal tank within a month or two.

If you don't already have one, you need a water testing kit. Your once a week water changes can't possibly be enough to keep the water parameters safe. "Tolerable" is not safe, so it's really important that you keep track of the ammonia, nitrate, and nitrates in your tank.

At this time, any additional tank inhabitants are not recommended.
