What Are Philippines Coins Made Out Of

Philipines Coin?

Your coin is KM# 198 under the Philippines. It is a 10 Sentimos and this type was made from 1967-1974. It has Francisco Baltasar on the reverse. the coin is made out of copper-nickel. It takes 51 Pesos to equal a dollar and a 100 Sentimos to make a Peso. So you can see it is worth little. Being a small denomination coin, it has little or no collector base in the U.S.

How much is 1000 mexican dollar coins in philippine peso?

First, Mexico uses the PESO, no the dollar.
Second, do you mean 1000 of the current ringed bi-metal 1 Peso coin or a single 1000 peso coin?
If you mean a single 1000 peso coin of the type issued between 1988 and 1992, those are the old pesos. In 1993, Mexico revalued the peso. At that time, 1000 old pesos became 1 current peso. Thus, a 1000 peso coin would be 1 current peso or about US$0.08 or about 4 Philippine pesos.

How many sides does an old philippine 2-peso coin have?

from a blog

I particularly miss our 2 peso coin. I remember... when I was a kid we did art projects and stuff and one of things we did was put coins under a piece of paper and then shade the area of the paper over the coin to get an image of the coin on the paper. The 2 peso coin was my favorite because it's the biggest coin (larger surface area for shading!) and also because I like how the texture of the coconut tree leaves and branches would make my graphite pencil or colored pencil bump around a lot. I also miss the 2 peso coin because of its special decagonal shape. It wouldn't roll like the other coins and you could actually make it stand up.

Andres Bonifacio was on the heads side of the 2 peso coin... they've since just crammed him into the 10 peso bill... Oh well.

What is the value of 1915 10 Philippine Centavos?

I found a website on the internet that lists the 1915s 10 peso coin in the price range $10-$400. The coin's value will also depend on its grade. To accurately determine its price and the prices of the other coins you should probably either go to a coin dealer or buy a price book on coins from the Philippines. There were only 450,000 made so it may be worth a lot of money depending on its condition.

Philippines modern uncirculated type set coins?

They still exist as well as the 50 cents, if I spend time, I could still find my cents when I was a child somewhere in those boxes in our stock room; but unfortunately only the 25 cents is of value nowadays. Four 25cents equal 1 peso. Others, like 1 cent, are not accepted in any store however.

Is throwing coins inside house on new year day Philippine culture?

This is actually a fairly common activity done in many Philippine families (at least in the circles I move around when I was there).

And not only is this done at the stike of midnight New Years Day (supposedly for luck for the coming New Year--I don't believe in any of these so-called superstitions though but this is free money...), as I was saying, this is also done on other Filipino celebrations and occasions such as house warmings and even weddings and baptisms.

I am sure this is not an original Filipino tradition but I believe many such practices come from the Chinese immigrants to the islands and passed down through generations.
