What Boostmobile Model Phones Can Have The Sim Card Replaced In Another Country So They Work There

Will a Boost Mobile Sim work with an Unlocked Phone?

in most cases no they will not unless its an unlocked nextel phone they are the only other phones that can support the iden system boost runs on... in some instances you can make calls with a boost sim in a non boost/nextel phone but you will lose internet features, direct connect, and might get charged roaming since you would be connecting to a gsm network instead of a cdma/iden network

What cell phones accept a boost mobile sim card?

Locked cell phones are locked to a particular carrier. This means you can't run the phone on a different carrier's network by swapping cell phones. Nearly all cell phones sold in the U.S. are locked to att or t-mobile. These phones can be unlocked by typing in a special code. The other type of locked phones are for verizon and sprint. Neither carrier's phones can be unlocked because the device's hardware can't be swapped or modified to work on anything that it hasn't been programmed. Generally unlocked cell phones are more expensive because they can work on any gsm carrier worldwide. If the phone you are looking for is for the carrier it is for, then buying an unlocked phone isn't worth it. If the carrier you wan't to run the phone on isn't the one the phone is for, you should buy it unlocked unless you are willing to find the unlock code.

Do I need Boost mobile phone? Or can I just buy the SIM card and use it in my old phone?

No, you can't use the LG VU because it uses gsm sims like Att/Tmobile/international. The sim on Boost is known as iden. It looks the same but is incompatible with gsm sim phones like your Vu. It can be used in without unlocking in Nextel phones and other unlocked iden phones (Mike, Southern Linc, Nextel International) though.

No hidden fees. But a few states might have .

Only gsm sim phone card unlimited option is on Att gophone. You have to buy a gophone sim, activate it in your Lg, pick the 25 cent plan then go to features via 611 add features and add the $60 unlimited talk (and messaging in some areas) option.

That is the only way to get unlimited with your LG VU at this time in prepaid.

What kind of unlocked phones can you use with a boost mobile sim card?

Boost sim cards wont work with an unlocked phone.
But you can purchase a SimpleMobile sim card or an H2O Wireless sim card, also prepaid, they cost about $20 and they work with any unlocked gsm phone. The service is a little better than boost and you can get the same unlimited talk and text plan for $50.

Can a boost mobile sim card fit in a cricket phone?

Sorry no, Boost walkie talkie and Cricket uses totally different and incompatible technologies. Key difference is Boost walkie talkie has a sim and uses iden technology (this sim , btw, can only be used in Nextel/Boost and other unlocked iden phones. It CAN'T be used with Att/Tmobile unlocked phones even though they have sims. Their sims are called GSM. Also incompatible with iden sims. Most of the world uses gsm). Cricket, Metro, Sprint and Verizon all use non sim technology called cdma. A Verizon/Sprint/other cdma phone can be flashed or reprogrammed to run on Metro in all of the older markets. The newer trimode markets can't do that because their frequency is incompatible with Verizon/Sprint phones and even older Metro phones.

New trimode Metro phones can be used in any Metro market, old or new. There are two types of flashing, full and basic. Basic only does talk /text, full is everything but costs more. Metro Dealers who are not independent can usually only do talk/text/basic flash.

Good luck and hope this info was of some use.

And yeah, Boost walkie talkie's phone lineup has a lot of work to do to make it better.

Can an unactivated SIM card work on an unlocked phone?

You can work if the SIM card not yet activate is from the network carrier on which the device is locked. If you do not know on which network is the device locked or if it is locked at all, you are better off using an activated SIM card to check if it works.

Will SIM cards ever be replaced by another system of cell phone connection?

There are many patents on the topic of virtual sim cards, it will take some time for then to hit market, but I believe eventually they will.Carriers might be against it, as it eliminates a barrier for a user to change, and they are essencial for this idea to work, but they might be convinced by the manufacturers and users.Specially because Apple has its ideas on that area and it has a massive user base. I believe its more likely for a iPhone user to change carrier then phone, so if Apple push it to their next phone, be sure all operators will rush to adopt their technology.Other (android) manufacturers would have more problems in this regard, as their users can migrate between then, so if one enforced virtual sim's and only a few carriers adopted it, they would lose users.Google might put virtual sim cards as a requirement for a next generation of Android phones, that would have a simmilar effect of Apple doing so, but seems less likely.Anyway there will probably be some transition time, where phones will have support for both technologies.
