What Branch Of Military Would U Suggest For Me

What military branch would be the best to join?

Well if you want to travel to different ports, but be at sea 98% of the time then go Navy. Air force you can do a good bit of traveling but they pick your job pretty much for you. As for the army you could travel and pick the job you want and that will be the job you get. If you don't want a combat job don't pick it. As for the marines I am not real sure how it works for them. Call a recruiter and just ask them. If you don't want them hasseling you leave them a fake name and #.

Which military branch is best for my career?

That first guy is lying...AF does NOT have a "better" pay grade it is ALL the same in every branch. An E-1 in the Marines gets the same pay as an E-1 in the Air Force.

I scored high on my ASVAB (88) and went to the Marine recruiters and basically said, "here are my scores, what job options can you offer me?" and he responded, "you join the Marines because you want to be a Marine, not for the job we can offer you". So I ultimately said thank you and left.

And it depends what career you're shooting for. Choose a job in the military that you want to do or has some revelance to what you want to do. I chose the Army National Guard for the job that i got (medical lab tech) and to have time to finish up college and get my degree. And a lab tech has some revelance to what i want to do with my career in biomedical research. Do your research in all branches. Marine Corps isn't necessarily the most prestigious branch. Military training and service in general will give you good credentials on the civilian side. With high ASVAB scores, choose your job wisely and don't settle for anything less than what your scores show. Don't let the recruiters or guidance counselors talk you into something that you don't have your mind set on.

Good luck to you.

What branch of military is best for me?

NO SMART COMMENTS PLEASE. Ok, I am a junior in college pursuing an accounting degree. I am really interested in joining the military, but i am unsure of what branch. I have talked to recruiters from different branches, but nothing stands out to me. I graduate may 2011, and upon graduation would like to be in the military.

I still have questions
1. all BS aside, will I ever have to fight in the war front since I am a female?
2. Can I do something in the accounting/finandce field
3. How is the pay?
4. what do I come in as? officer? etc......
5. I read a lot of discouraging things about the millitary like bad, food, bad conditions, treatments, little pay, etc
6. should I go into reserve while doing grad school, and then convert to active duty?
7. can I/ Should I work for one of the branches as a civillian?
I have a lot of questions and would appreciate if u guys could give me all the info u can

How do you pick what branch of the military is best for you?

Figure out what you want to do or learn then pick the branch that will provide you with that opportunity. I wanted to learn to use various weapons, go hiking, camping, and learn land navigation. So I decided on Infantry. That narrowed my choices down to the Marines or the Army and I chose the Army due to family history. My son’s Battle Buddy in Basic wanted to learn plumbing and the Army gave him that opportunity plus other construction education. My son wanted a little of everything so he became an Artillery Forward Observer so he gets to spend time with Infantry as well.Know what you want then go get it.

Which military branch is best for families?

Each branch as pros and cons. Every family has different desires. I would suggest going to talk to all four of the local recruiters. You might not be eligible to go into a certain branch ( they have various criteria) so that would automatically narrow down the choices. It is a GREAT option (any branch) for families. Medical and dental coverage is outstanding. Benefits like life insurance, commissaries, and cost of living adjustments are awesome. There are wonderful resources for military families, from counseling, to how to budget for babies, to GREAT home loan options thru the VA. We live really, really, well and have four children. We are not hurting for anything. HOWEVER, we also spend a lot (and I mean a lot) of time apart, and we move often, far from family and friends. Your spouse needs to be ok with a tremendous quantity of time apart, putting her as a solo parent a bit of the time, and possibly apart from family or current supportive people in her life. You have the danger element covered I would assume, as you were a D. Sheriff...some spouses would have a hard time with the current trend of military deployed to the war zones. You will run across some people who have never moved or not often moved while in the military, and that don't deploy. That in my view is not the common route of military personnel.

We are partial to the Marine Corps. It has served our family well. The deployments are generally shorter than some other branches (not always, but generally by several months from my experience) and the branch is smaller, giving you a smaller community of peers. And of course there is the "Few, The Proud, The Marines...thing....

Also, in the Marine Corps they are going to more civil service for the MP's...you might want to look into that option...I have no idea the criteria, just that they are changing over to that. You might could google that. I know that the Army also uses "public" employees for some of it's security.

And bravo for wanting to do what it takes to be a good provider for your family...that is to be commended!

God's speed in your search.

Can you have a beard in any branch of the military?

SF is authorized to downrange, and those who must have a beard for religious purposes. Outside of those 2 exceptions, no you are NOT authorized to have a beard in ANY branch of the Military.

What branches of Military can you keep your hair?

I really want to join the U.S. Navy, but I don't want to cut my hair to my collar. I know I sound girly, but I'm a 14 year old girl and still figuring out my future. I'm not joining to serve or make it a career... I just don't have enough money to afford Harvard. I think that the Navy doesn't go to war, but you have to cut your hair. Is there another branch that doesn't require getting your hair chopped off, or even not going to war?
Thx!

What branch of the military are u most likely to die?

You can get killed in any branch and in any mos. Granted there are jobs like SF that are a little more risky. However, you can work as a cook and get killed in a fire. That happened in Bosnia. One of the first casualties was a cook who was in a mobile kitchen that blew up. Actually one of the biggest killers in the military is not combat, it is bad driving.

However, if you want safety a human resources job in either the Navy or Air force is probably your best bet. Human resource personnel in the army and marines are used for extra sand bags - just joking.

Can I choose which military branch after I take the ASVAB?

You can choose a branch before you take the ASVAB. What the ASVAB is, is a test that determines what type of job you'd best be suited for in the military. I could try and break down the scoring but I'd butcher it. Your chances of landing a really good job should you choose to enlist rest on your ability to score high on the ASVAB. Your local recruiter would have a list of jobs with the corresponding scores needed for you to be eligible. My recommendation? They make ASVAB study guides with practice exams. Pay the money for it and study, study, study. It'll mean the difference between security forces, administration specialist and nuclear engineering. Well, not quite, but im sure you get the point.
