Junior Year:
1st sem - 3.83 (4.3 weighted)
2nd sem - 4.0 (4.5 weighted)

SAT - 2200

Which are the best colleges that I can get into? I want to become a doctor. Here's where I want to go:

Stanford
Harvard
UC Berkely
UCLA
UCS
UCSD
UCI
UCD

Which places can I get into with my scores? I always take challenges (I'm 1 year ahead in math, took AP Stats a year early). I also go to a very rigorous school, in the top 5 high schools in California. Please let me know which colleges I have a chance at making it into. Thanks!

Can i get into a university with 3.4 gpa?

i am currently a junior, im the first to go to collge in my family, and im from a low income family. im also taking 2 ap classes right now and earned a B- in both this semester.): my gpa is basically consistent since freshmen year with a 3.5 now its 3.4, but this is unweighted. So my weighted gpa is probably more since i toke 2 AP this year. i don't do any sports, but i have alot of community service. i volunteer in clubs since freshemn year and i tutor at an elementary school, but its still not alot. im planning on signing up for some summer programs or internships.
my SAT scores is: 1600 (pretty bad)
where i really want to go is:
stanford
USC
UCDavis
UCBerkley
Pomona
UCLA
since i live in CA, i just want to go to a really good college in CA.

is there any suggestions of advice? can i get into one of those colleges i meantioned above? im pretty much an average student.

Can I get into Loyola University Chicago with a 2.75 GPA and a 21 ACT?

Acceptance depends on multiple things: the program you are applying for, the reasons for your GPA, extra curricular activities, the strength of your personal statement, etc.2.75 isn’t terrible, but it’s not great. If you are accepted I think it is likely that you will be on academic probation. My advice is to address in your personal statement why your GPA is where it is, what you are going to do differently at Loyola, and to stress the other qualities that make you a good student. I would also explain in detail why you are interested in the program that you are applying for. I knew a woman that was denied for the program that I was in because she didn’t explain her interest in social work, even though she had a 3.7 GPA. Good luck!

Can I get into a good college in California with a 2.5 gpa?

If you aren't attending a California high school, the non-resident cost of attendance (tuition, fee, room & board, books, personal expenses, etc) for the Cal States is around $35,000 and for the UC's about $55,000 a school year, plus summer costs. The Cal States mostly aren't worth the non-resident cost, and it's questionable if the UC's are, private colleges run about $60,000 and it's easier to get classes and graduate on time.

The Cal States and UC's do not take into consideration your freshman year grade. Non-residents need a minimum GPA 3.4 for the UC's, there is a chart for the Cal States, a combination of your SAT/ACT score and your GPA, but the standards are a bit lower than for the UC's. The UC's want full pay top non-resident students, and they get plenty of applicants. Same for the Cal States.

If you aren't in a California high school, see if your local state colleges look at freshman grades (most colleges do) and what the cost of attendance is. Then look at their majors, to see if you find something appropriate.

Good luck!

Can I realistically get into a mid-tier UC with a 3.4 UW GPA and a 35 ACT? UC weighted, it’s 3.65 (3.88 uncapped) and 800/800 on Math-2 and Physics.

A2A. Can I realistically get into a mid-tier UC with a 3.4 UW GPA and a 35 ACT? UC weighted, it’s 3.65 (3.88 uncapped) and 800/800 on Math-2 and Physics. You can look at the Freshman admission profiles to see if you GPA and test scores are within range. However, it will be how your answer to the personal insight question that will determine if you are admitted and rejected.

I got a perfect sat score but I have a 3.4 GPA what are my academic chances of getting into Stanford University?

3.4 GPA is not aligned with excellent standardized test score, which will be considered by admission teams of elite schools that the student may not be able to sustain the excellence on a long period, but good for one off / instant excellence. For elite schools BOTH - excellence in rigorous academic program and standardized tests are important. Academic GPA, which is achieved over 4 years of high school period, instead of one off attempt(s) in standardized test is much more valued. Also elite schools need you to be a holistic profile and excellence on these two [academic & standardized tests], in isolation, do not have any value.Freshman Application Requirements / General Education Requirements for Undergrads / Our Selection Process / Stanford Magazine - Article and How to Get Into Stanford (by an Accepted Student) will help you further.

I'm a junior with a 3.4 GPA. What can I do to get accepted into a top tier university?

Here's my best advice: 1) Get the best grades you can. Shoot for at least between a 3.6-3.7 at the end of 1st semester Senior year. 2) Kill your SATs. This is the simplest way to differentiate yourself. With the new SATs, get at least a 1500/1600. SATs are not IQ test. If you spend a full summer studying for it, you can definitely get it. 3) Identify what you want to study in college and do activities related to it. Clubs, projects, etc. 4) Get amazing recs. suck up to your teacher. Seriously
