What part of Time Warner did AT&T purchase?
Not 100% sure until my shareholder information gets here (I've owned AT&T stock since the 80’s, long before the SBC/BellSouth takeover and got more while working for them) but from what I understand it was mostly Time-Warner's content, like HBO/Cinemax, the Turner networks (TNT, CNN, and TBS, among others), DC Comics, Warner Brothers, and New Line Cinema. Time-Warner sold WPCH a few years back so they're not a broadcaster by the strict sense of the word anymore.AT&T has plenty of distribution channels like uVerse, Mobility, and DirecTV so it was content generation they were after. Charter bought Time-Warner Cable already, though the FCC under Trump's Idjit Pai wouldn't have objected, but its whatever. It was a play to keep Comcast, Disney, and (especially) Verizon away from it.WMG (including Warner-Chapelle publishing) is independent so they don't control that either, though I'm sure they wish that they did.
AT&T U Verse big black rectangle when watching Lopez Tonight and now Conan. Help?
Within a few seconds of Lopez Tonight starting on TBS, a black rectangle fills up about half of my TV screen. And tonight when I tried to watch the first episode of Conan, it does it then too. I have AT&T U Verse service, and the TV that this happens on is not the main system (not the one that can rewind and pause and fast forward). I checked the Closed Captioning and it says that both options are off. Does anyone know what's going on?

About 147.00 per month...that includes gazillion channels , internet, and land phone service plus we order at least three to four 'pay per view' movies per month (Com-cast Cable T.V.) We NEED the internet and the land phone since The Hubby is a DBA and often on call during weekends...he needs to log on at home and use a phone, either cell or land phone....AT & T sucked with a inner tube as far as reliability of service so we switched our land phone & internet to Com-cast. He's also a NCIS, CSI, and SyFy junkie lol.....so cable is a must lol. We have neighbors with satellite t.v. and they always complain with bad weather....our cable has only gone out twice in four years....some dweeb smacked into a telephone pole with their car and took it out, then we had a small tornado a few miles away that brought down cable lines.

AT&T has since renamed Time Warner Media to just Warner Media.As far as CNN goes, yes, AT&T now through acquiring Time Warner Media owns all of Ted Turners former cable channels. Which include CNN, TBS, TNT, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Boomerang, Hulu (10%), Audience, Game Show Network (42%), AT&T SportsNet and TruTV.So, AT&T does own the content that used to belong to Time Warner, but not the cable company which includes Cable TV, internet, phone and home security.
