What Country Has The Largest Eez

Which country do you think owns SPRATLY ISLAND'S (WEST PHILIPPINES SEA?)?

claimant country's are vietnam, brunei, malaysia, china, taiwan and the philippines CHINA want's the whole so called SOUTH CHINA SEA or what they call NANYANG ISLAND's which means "SOUTH SEA" while the reason why there are many ASEAN country's claiming the islands is because NANYANG in other MANDARIN LANGUAGE also refers to SOUTH EAST ASIA.while VIETNAM another claimant country is not just claiming the SPRATLY ISLAND's but also the PARACEL ISLAND's (which CHINA also claims as their land.THE PHILIPPINES says that in 1970's a FILIPINO EXPLORER first discovered what the PHILIPPINES calls (KALAYAAN ISLAND's/WEST PHILIPPINE SEA) in 1974 the PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT already recognized it as a part of the PHILIPPINE MAP.TAIWAN defends that the islands were in the HISTORIC RECORDS (like what CHINA says) and they have 8 islands one wherein they built an AIRPORT while BRUNEI wants to own their RESPECTIVE EEZ ZONES like MALAYSIA.THERE ARE MANY REASON's WHY THIS 6 COUNTRY's ARE ARGUING ABOUT THE SPRATLY ISLAND's it's because it is RICH IN OIL AND PRECIOUS METALS and not just because it's an addition for their MAP to become BIGGER so which country do you think OWNS IT!!!

Is there any non-landlocked country without any sea border?

I assume that by ‘sea border’ you mean a border between the country’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and another country’s exclusive economic zone. In that case, the answer is ‘no.Here is a map of the world showing EEZs.You will notice a few areas of EEZ that don’t abut any other (eg Easter Island, Bermuda),but none of them are independent countries.

What is the largest country without mountains?

There is a country whose highest point is just 81 meters above sea level and controls 3.5 million square kilometers. Here is a map of just a small part of its vast domain:This is the Republic of Kiribati, a Pacific Island nation with just 110,000 citizens. By one measure, it is a very small country: its 33 islands have a total area of just 800 square kilometers. That’s about a third of the size of Rhode Island (or Luxembourg, if you prefer). Crucially, though, those 33 islands are spread across a huge expanse of ocean. Under international law, countries may claim an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) up to 200 nautical miles from its coast*. A country controls all resources within that EEZ, from fish to oil. A large EEZ can be very valuable, and Kiribati’s is HUGE. Here it is compared to the continental United States:(Image from the Australian Fisheries Management Authority)If you include its EEZ, Kiribati is the world’s 17th-largest country, a little smaller than Argentina. It may be stretching the terms of the question (a country’s rights in its EEZ are different than those in its terrestrial territory), but Kiribati certainly does control a big chunk of the Earth’s surface, it certainly isn’t mountainous, and it’s certainly fun to think about!* This is a slight simplification from the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. The exact shape and size of an EEZ also depends on the location of neighboring countries’ EEZs, the position of the continental shelf, and other international agreements.EDIT: Many thanks to Tris Nguyen, who pointed out that I misused the map above. The Kiribati EEZ is actually split into three different areas around the Gilbert, Phoenix, and Line Island Groups (see the light purple areas in the map of Pacific EEZs below).(2017 map of Pacific Ocean EEZs from Australian National University)

What is the history of the Paracel Islands and Spratly Islands over the last 200 years?

These two groups of small islands are located in the South China Sea. It doesn't appear that any of these islands are capable of supporting human habitation, however their ownership is currently disputed by many countries, including China, Vietnam, Philippines, etc.

What is the history of these island groups over the past 200 years? Most accounts which I have seen on the internet only talk about the current ownership disputes, and don't go into the history in depth.

Some sources say that these island groups were occupied by the Japanese during WWII. However, the situation before that Japanese occupation is much less clear. In particular, I would be interested in the history of the Paracel Islands and Spratly Islands over the last 200 years or more.

What is the largest asteroid ever discovered called?

Ceres is the most massive asteroid: it contains more than 30% of the total mass of all asteroids taken together.

It is also the largest asteroid and the first to be discovered on January 1, 1801 (easy to remember).

Which country has more influence, the United Kingdom or France?

Depends on the part of the world.Financially the UK is not part of th Eurozone, so economically it is seen as a stronger more reliant ally. Economists literally have no faith in any Eurozone economy apart from Germany right now. If Greece or Italy have a hiccup France could suffer greatly.Militarily both France and the UK are practically equal. While France has more soldiers, the UK has more money. The UK has always throughout its history opted for small well drilled and well armed armies as opposed too large numbers of troops. As did Napoleon during his European conquest with his Grand Army of trained well drilled loyal men, not 10 different large armies. France however, has recently come under fire for its inability to mobilise it's armed forces, it is said that when France mobilised troops to North Africa they had serious issues due to the previous governments lack of investment. That being said - the UK and France are culturally similar and since WW1 very strong allies, honestly the strongest in Europe. They have a very, very joint military strategy. The UK has however invested in two huge aircraft carriers. This does put them ahead of a lot of European nations, the UK military on paper is formidable.France has signicantly more influence in the EU due too Brexit, currently the UK is almost blacklisted by the organisation too deter other leavers (cough Denmark cough Poland.) President Macron has also developed a strong relationship with President Trump. It appears the US has lost faith in Theresa May and want her out, I'm sure that when Boris Johnson is named prime minister in a few months, the three of them will be a lovely trio. So right now, France has America's ear.Opposite of that, the EU has negatively effected Frances international status quite a bit, the UK has more diplomatic ties with more countries than any other Western European power, internationally the UK is a bigger brand. The UK has significant advantages due to advantageous relationships with India, Pakistan and China. The UK can also boast brotherly bonds with Australia, New Zealand and Canada. The problem with a lot of the answers this question will receive is a lot of EU member states act like civilisation starts and ends at western Europe. The UK has always been internationalist compared to other EU members.

Why won't China stop its claims for Scarborough Shoal?

China claims the shoal based on their historical rights (which i think is pretty dumb) while the Philippines claims it through UNCLOS' exclusive economic zone. I want to hear your opinions based on this matter. i want to know foreigner's opinions too. :)

Why is EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone) 200 nautical miles long?

The Exclusive Economic Zone has evolved from the 200nm fishery conservation zone. The fishery conservation zone was introduced by president Harry S. Truman in it's proclamation in 1945, but the 200 nm limit was set in 1976 by the US Congress. This evolved into what today we know as the EEZ and adopted at the "United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea".Sources: http://www.ibiblio.org/pha/polic...http://www.csc.noaa.gov/cz/CZ05_...More on maritime topics can be found here: http://www.onlinelawyersource.co...
