Emerald for engagement ring?
Lots of people have emerald engagement rings. Consult a jeweler. NOT a chain/mall store like Kay or Zales - an independent, local jeweler. BlueNile.com has some emerald engagement rings, and an antiques store would likely have them as well.
Is an emerald engagement ring okay?
My girlfriend and I are the most amazing match in all of history. We are perfect for each other. I was just curious though if it is okay to give an engagement ring that with a genuine emerald centerpiece that would have a couple smaller diamonds on the side. Her favorite color in the whole world is green and that is also the color of my eyes. I just want to think outside of the traditional box. Also, she is not a materialistic person and is grateful even for a McFlurry if its from me. I need some male AND female opinion. Thanks.

my anniversary is next week, and im hoping for a proposal.... i wanted a diamond ring ( i know it not my choice ) but i like the traditional diamond engagement ring, my boyfriend wants to get me an emerald, we talk about it before. i love emeralds, its my birthstone.... but im not sure if id like it as my engagement ring!! and one thing im not even sure if this is happening next week, he makes me feel like he picked it out already... and then he makes me believe theres nothing.... im so confused and i dont know how to handle this....
