What have we learned so far from project seti about life on other planets?
There is one big problem with the entire premise of SETI. Consider the practicalities of conventional radio that humans use. The record power output of radio transmission is 2500 kW, set by the Taldom transmitter. This transmitter transmits its low-band radio signal at a frequency of 153 kHz. SO...the question is...what power is received by a hypothetical Earth-like planet orbiting our nearest sun-like star (Alpha Centauri), 4.36 light years away? Answer found by assuming a spherically symmetric propagation of signal. In reality, there may be concentrated directions of signal...but let's neglect that. Intensity: I = P_emit/(4*pi*d^2) Corresponding power: P_received = I*pi*r^2 P_received = P_emit*r^2/(4*d^2) Set d=4.36 light years, or in otherwords 4.125*10^13 km. Set r = the radius of Earth, 6371 km. Set P_emit = 2500 kW Result: P_received = 1.5*10^(-17) Watts Or in convenient prefix: P_received = 15 femtowatts Compare this to the received power needed to provide a decent signal to most household radio receivers. That is on the order of a few milliwatts. This would mean, that should a hypothetical planet of Alpha Centauri have their own identical transmitter to the Taldom, and if we had a radio receiver dish the size of all of Earth...we still would only have a billionth the power needed to get a decent signal.

What is the most important lesson you have learned in your life so far?
I've learned to love and respect myself first before I was able to do that to others. I've learned to accept people for the person they are and not for what they have or what religion they might be I've learned to break the cycle of abuse so I don't pass it down to my kids. I've learned that even if I'm poor no one will know unless I tell them. I've learned that having an open door policy with my kids, they will have nothing to hide. I've learned that being a single parent has made me much stronger. I've learned that life is very hard and that my faith in Allah and in my religion has brought me through many trials. I've learned how ugly the word cancer is but how beautiful the word miracle is. ( I am cancer free for 13 years) Al hamduillah! I've learned that letting go is much better than being bitter I've learned that time is the 1 thing I never have enough of. and I've learned that yesterday is truely gone forever
