I am 5'5 and 112 pounds. I have a fat, chubby stomach. I want a flat one! Even when i weighed as low as 92 pounds i didn't have a flat one and i was way too skinny so there's got to be something specific i was doing wrong or not doing at all. I'm not going for abs just a flat stomach

Is it bad if you sleep on your stomach??

It can make your back hurt. I am a stomach sleeper and a back pain sufferer. Try bending one kneeup a little or putting a pillow under one side of you so you are leaning a little to one side. If you must sleep completely on your stomach, try putting a pillow under your pelvis to straighten out you spine. This will help ease back pain.

My stomach hurts under my rib cage?

Pain in this area can mean gallbladder, liver, pancreatic, stomach, or duodenum (small intestine) issues.

However, your pain is a classic gallbladder-issue symptom. You may have gallbladder stones (cholelithiasis), "sludge", or "crystals". Your gallbladder may not be ejecting enough bile (low ejection fraction). You may have narrowed or blocked hepatobiliary (liver/gallbladder) or pancreatic ducts.

The liver makes bile; the gallbladder stores it and ejects it in response to commands from your small intestine when it "senses" certain types of food.

The pancreas produces enzymes that also go to the small intestine in response to certain types of food (fats, carbohydrates, proteins).

Too much or not enough bile or enzymes, or blocked ducts that transport them, can cause pain like you describe.

Search for "hepatobiliary ducts" and "pancreatic ducts" for some good images of your digestive organs and their ducts.

If you're having loose stools, especially if they are foul in odor and light-colored, it is probably an enzyme, bile, or stone/sludge/crystal issue. Some people can have a single "attack" and never have problems; others (like me) can trudge on for 20+ years with pain like this and end up hospitalized. (I had pancreatitis.)

You should be OK, but we don't know your eating/drinking (especially alcohols and fats) habits, medications, height/weight, health history, or family health history.

Digestive pain can be scary, especially when you don't know what caused it or what you should do to prevent from returning. Your physician can order a blood test, ultrasound, or CT scan to check the status of your gallbladder and surrounding structures, or if the pain returns, a HIDA scan can tell whether your gallbladder is performing properly.
