Probably because New York is an expensive place, you know. Discounts for hotels aren't really common for NYC hotels because the hotels cost a lot.
How Often Can I use my marriott employee hotel discount?
I'm currently a NEW part-time employee at the Courtyard Marriott and I wanted to use my associate hotel discount rate every single weekend for the next year... Is that possible? Front Desk Employee... At a different location but only on the weekends? How would I do this, would I have to notify my manager that I am staying at a different hotel every weekend... Could I lose my job if I abuse this privilege? Would I just book a room my self for that certain location on the weekend. Thanks!
Marriott Family Rate Promo Code...?
So my dad gave me a Marriot promo code for family members and friends of employees. I typed it in on the online booking page to see if it worked and it did. I dont have alot of money to spend but it is the long weekend and I want to spend it away and it brought down the price about 40 dollars. But it does say that when you check in you need proof that you are a friend or family member of a Marriott associate. My dad used to work in Marriott head office and still has some business cards. Am I eligible for this rate because my dad doesnt seem to know.

Friends & Family rates, as we call it, are not always available. The prices vary greatly between hotels and the days of the week. If there is an event in town we usually don't do friends & family rates at all. To give you some examples, I have checked for December 8th and here are some prices for that date as of right now: Renaissance Chicago Hotel Normal price $249. Friends & Family rate $129 Courtyard Chicago Downtown/River North Normal price $179. Friends & Family rate $99 The Blackstone Normal price $215. Friends & Family rate $129 In most cases, breakfast will not be included in the price. You can see one price today and another tomorrow as they are not set so you just have to try your luck and see what is the best you can get. If a cheaper price becomes available you can always cancel a reservation you already have and book another one. Don't forget to ask your brother for an authorization form before you check in though. Otherwise you have to pay the normal fare.
