How do I curl my hair using a Curling Iron?

You can try it, and just experiment. You'll get the hang of it. Use Aussie products to protect the hair and add moisture. A curling iron is good, but if you use it everyday it will have a tendancy to dry out your hair.

Kind of a two part question. I have a 1.5" curling iron and a curling wand iron. The regular 1.5" really does nothing and I never like how my hair looks no matter how I style it with that. So are these hair styles achievable with a curling wand iron? I know that these waves are created with wand-wrapping techniques, but when I wrap-curl my hair on the wand iron, the curls are always too tight and looks too curly, opposed to bigger waves. I've tried wrapping it more loosely or in wider sections, but it just never looks how I want it to. Any additional tips and tricks are really appreciated. Well both curling irons and hot rollers will get you those curls, its just that rollers take longer to do it. Just use a clipless curling iron (wand) and it's way faster and easier. You wrap a section of hair around the barrel (thicker section for looser curls) and hold it for like 10 seconds. Slide the barrel out and pin the curl up so it can cool down in place. If you let it fall while it's warm then it'll unravel a lot faster. Remember to use a heat protectant before though! In my experience, the best curling iron for any curls/waves is the karmin clipless, you can look it up online at beyas. That site ships it for free so its better, lol. That curling iron is the best, for sure.
How long does it take you girls to curl your hair with a curling iron?
I have a little longer than shoulder length fine hair and depending on how curly I do it, anywhere from 5-20 min. 5 min meaning I didn't curl it very much...used thicker pieces and mostly curled the bottom to 20 min meaning I used thinner strands and curled it up to my scalp. Hope this helps you.
