What Medicine Helps Increase Energy With Fibromyalgia

I have Fibromyalgia has anyone else taken Lyrica?

Glutathione: The Body's Master Antioxidant glutathione (GSH) is a small protein produced naturally in our cells when certain required elements are present. It functions both as an antioxidant and an antitoxin and is a major defense system against illness and aging. Our glutathione level actually indicates our state of health and can predict longevity. Although there are more than 60,000 published papers on the beneficial effects of glutathione replacement, it is still largely ignored by mainstream medicine. . In the near future the importance of glutathione will be widely recognized because it has the ability to boost the immune system and fight off the damage of free radicals on the cells.

Glutathione has been shown to slow down the aging process, detoxify and improve liver function, strengthen the immune system, and reduce the chances of developing cancer. Glutathione also works to help improve mental functions, increase energy, improve concentration, permit increased exercise, and improve heart and lung function - just to name a few.

Increasing Age and Other Factors Reduce the Body’s Production and Utilization of GSH. Research has shown that individuals who have low levels of glutathione are susceptible to chronic illness. Research shows that GSH levels decline by 8% to 12% per decade, beginning at the age of 20. Levels of glutathione are further reduced by continual stress upon the immune system such as illness, infection, and environmental toxins. As we now know, a lowered immune system can bring about illness and disease. This is a ferocious cycle. While you need glutathione for a productive immune system, a weakened immune system hampers the production of glutathione.

Supplements Containing Glutathione Alone Will NOT Increase the Body’s GSH Levels. It is pointless to purchase supplements that merely contain glutathione, because the digestive system breaks down ingested glutathione and it will not be absorbed into your system. On the other hand, MaxGXL™ provides the proper nutrients needed to promote the body's own ability to manufacture and absorb glutathione. MaxGXL™ also aids in liver support by destroying environmental poisons helping the liver to function as the main production site and storehouse for glutathione.

For those with Fibromyalgia, which treatments have helped the best for reducing fatigue and increasing energy?

For those with Fibromyalgia, which treatments have helped the best for reducing fatigue and increasing energy?I have experimented with a lot of treatments out of personal and professional interest. As an ND, I want to be able to talk to patients about what they can expect from treatment from an experiential point of view.Of all the things I have tried for fatigue from fibro, the standout is Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) and there is research to support this finding. The cells of our tissues need to be able to convert food energy (glucose) into cellular energy (adenosine triphosphate, ATP). Cells have organelles that assist with this transformation. Key among them are the mitochondria (singular: mitochondrion), which are most abundant in tissues that do a lot of work, such as muscles and the heart.Image source: How Healthy Nutrition Builds Health, Starting With the Cells (Graphics)Our bodies make Coenzyme Q10 and the mitochondria use it to facilitate the process of producing ATP. When the mitochondria don’t produce ATP effectively, this is called “mitochondrial dysfunction”. Mitochondrial dysfunction is a feature of the pathology of pain-fatigue conditions such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.Image source: The Mitochondria: Back to Basics | Integrative TherapeuticsBecause there are not many excellent food sources of CoQ10, those who need to boost their internal supply usually have to resort to supplementation. While people with heart conditions might need about 100 mg per day of a supplement, those with conditions involving mitochondrial failure could need 10 or more times that amount. I currently take 400 mg daily as a maintenance dose and increase it considerably when in a flared state.Since all supplements can cause adverse effects and interact with medications, you should review the prescribing information for CoQ10 with your doctor before trying it.More:9 Benefits of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)Clinical applications of coenzyme Q10Ubiquinone Uses, Benefits & Dosage - Drugs.com

Fibromyalgia???

Does anyone have any tips, ideas or treatments that have produced results. I have had this since about 2001or 2002. I have not met any other person that has this aside from online.(small town) I did a focus group for pain and it was suggested by another person that has it that I should try Malic Acid. I have been taking it for about a month. The pain that I have all the time is in my back (upper), my neck & shoulders. I occasionally get other pain in my pinpoints but that isn't everyday like my back. I take pain medication, I use Bio Freeze, I get manipulation, I take muscle relaxers and I use a heat sock. Plus we are getting ready to move into a place that has a hot tub. I am getting very frustrated with the pain. So I am asking for any suggestions from anyone else that has found relief. Please I will take any ideas that anyone else has tried. I have an appointment to discuss acupuncture but that isn't for months. Medical or non medical advice or tips. Thanks.

What are some alternative treatments for fibromyalgia?

Standard medical treatment of fibromyalgia is largely limited to the medications Lyrica, Savella, and Cymbalta. Although these are sometimes helpful “Band-Aids,” they do not address the root causes and reverse the illness. Our published placebo-controlled research has shown that a Complementary Medicine (or what I prefer to call Comprehensive Medicine) approach is highly effective, resulting in an average 90% improvement. This has been called the SHINE Protocol, optimizing Sleep, Hormones, Infections/Immunity, Nutrition, and Exercise as able.A special nutrient called SHINE Ribose has been shown to increase energy an average of 61% in two of our published studies. An herbal mix called Curamin has been highly effective for pain after six weeks of use. A special form of cannabinoids called Hemp Oil (by Terry Naturally) has been very helpful for sleep, pain, and anxiety. Magnesium and B vitamins have been very helpful for pain and energy. And the list goes on and on…So the answer is definitely yes!For a video of the lecture I gave to about 500 physicians, and which has had over 150,000 views, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

What can you do at work to help with fibromyalgia fog and fatigue?

If at all possible, keep stress to a minimum. Of course, this is not often realistic, so it’s essential that you learn to control your reaction to stress. Counseling can help. Eat carefully at home and at work. Sugar and excess caffeine give a short term boost, but the crash after is significantly worse for those of us with fibro. Avoid both like the plague in the hours before bedtime, in order to improve your sleep. Inadequate sleep is one of my biggest flare triggers. And perhaps most importantly, be kind to yourself. Accept that you have a very real, very debilitating illness, and are doing the best you possibly can. When the time comes that you can no longer do your job adequately, look into filing for disability. Fibro is real and can potentially make it impossible to continue working. Fibro is now accepted as a valid disorder for obtaining SSDI. Good luck.

What strain of kratom is best for treating both fibromyalgia and depression?

I have both fibromyalgia and depression so will tell you what has worked best for me. In general, red strains are best for pain, though tend to be more sedative in higher doses. Green strain are best for depression and many people find them helpful for alcohol withdrawal. Whites are more energetic as a rule. It is important to remember that kratom is a very individual experience and everyone may react differently. Some are complete opposites and find whites make them sleepy and reds are what gives energy. It’s important to try many different samples to see what works the best for you. I frequently use a blend involving all three strain colors. Good luck on your journey. We recently looking at something very similar on Fibro Weekly: Join the CommunityIn my experience and from what Ive read online, red strains are best suited for pain management and improved mood. I personally dont experience much benefit from energy strains. Whether or not they improve my energy is hard to gauge since they dont really improve my mood. More middle of the road strains, like green malay, generally feel diluted and lack luster compared to red strains.Ive tried a bunch of different strains, but Ive ended up just sticking with traditional red bali. For me it works the best and its a lot cheaper. The only draw back is that the withdrawal symptoms from it are a lot harsher. The fatigue that inevitably results from frequent, daily use can be very overpowering, but for me its a necessary evil. If I dont maintain a steady intake I start to experience severe chills, profuse sweating and unbearable restlessness and anxiety, which is par for the course compared to other opioids.
