What Percent Tint Would I Have If I Added 35 Over 30

What is a good percentage for window tint on my car?

I drive an Altima and have an appointment set up tomorrow to get my windows tinted, but I am not sure how dark to tint them. My current state laws require all windows to only be 35% tint, but I have had a car before with 25% all the way around and never got pulled over for it. Should I stay legal and go 35%? I want the tint to look good on my car, and I want it to keep my car cool in the summer. I have a friend who recently got a ticket for having 20% on their windows, so I am a little nervous to tint very dark (the police used to be relaxed around here, but are starting to crack down). Any advice? I want the tint to be noticeable.

What percent tint would I have if I combined 20 percent and 30 percent?

You may want to meter your window first for a more accurate reading, since many films meter out a bit darker depending on your glass. Assuming your glass and film together meter at 20%, and considering most 35% films are actually 38-40%, you can figure out what your total would be by multiplying the "percent of light transmission" times "the percentage on the vehicle", you should get your total light transmission.

So, in your example, 20% x 38% = 7.6% total light transmission.

Make sure you check your state's legal limit! In the state of Minnesota, cars can only go as dark as 50%.

30% or 35% tint?

I have a white 2015 civic coupe with grey interior. I was wondering if a 30% would look good since my car is white and grey inside making it look like 35% anyway. Im afraid 35% would be alittle too light. Im not going for a dark look, im going for a classy not too dark not too light.

My bf has a white jetta with black interior. He has 35% and it looks great! But i know mine wouldnt look the same.

Please help! I cant decide.

What tint percent is legal for front windows in california?

My brother just tinted his front side windows a 30% reason he did it because he wear eye glasses and the sun bothers his vision and in his license it says for him to wear his sun glasses while driving so we got the tints yesterday and he's saying they look dark this morning and is scared if he gets pulled over. Btw his back windows are tinted limo tint. Everyone we saw In the streets and highway have their front windows tinted 90% of the cars do. So can he go to a doctor and get a note saying he can have his windows tinted? And what's the percent for them to be legal. Because I spoke with an officer before and he told me something like 35% is legal but I forgot. So what percent is legal and can he get a note from a doctor?
