What Should I Do After High School

What do I do after high school?

Don't go to music school. I was a music major and most of my classmates were not able to get any kind of paying job in music. They work in other non music jobs and fields and many have trouble paying back their loans. I was able to get a music teaching job that is low paying (I am below the poverty line) and I had played my instrument since I was a small child. If you are into music, what I suggest is get into a job that pays well and leaves you free on evenings and weekends for music. You don't neccesarily need college for a good paying job, many good paying jobs can be learned at a vocational school, or in the trades, apprenticeship, etc.

What to do after high school?

It is smart not to go right to college if you have no idea what you want to do, even though people will continue to ask you where you are going. You could go and have an undeclared major, but if you don't even have any posibilities yet, that might be a waste. You could take classes part time at a community college (cheaper option) and maybe you will find something interesting. While you are going, you can talk to the career counselors of the college (they are usually much better than the ones in a high school). If you like the idea of joining the navy, then look into it. If not, try taking a career test online-it will ask you your interests and give you some ideas of what you might like. here is one website: http://www.pacareerzone.org/ip/

If you don't want to go into the military, get a job that you think might interest you while you decide on if you want to go to college and what you want to study.

You could look at technical schools, they might have more options for someone who likes gaming but not math (i.e. computer programming type courses).

I joined or the Army last year (my junior year of highschool, im currently a senior) I have 6 years active then 2 years reserve if I'm not going to stay any longer. My college is paid for already, and I'm almost guaranteed admission almost anywhere. Plus, if I decide to stay for 20, you get even more benefits. My recruiter is currently doing online college for a bachelor degree in business management. And he's still currently serving in the Army.Think of it this way, for 4 years of your life, you'll basically have little to zero expenses to pay for, no college debt, good pay, good health benefits, financil aide, and a good resume in the end of everything.Just one thing. Be dedicated. If you're not, you'll hate it the whole time.I'm looking forward to it. Fort Benning Georgia; infantry, here i come. Hoo-rah.

Don't rule out college. If you really want to go, a lot of colleges offer need-based scholarships, so even if your grades aren't the best if you can get into the school you could be eligible for a scholarship. Look at in-state colleges, or community colleges. If you don't want to go to college, just know that people without college degrees make less than those with, so it would be more difficult to get a high paying job unless you have good experience!
Good luck!

How's life after High School?

A friend and I are so scared of what happens after high school. How do you know if you're ready for the "real world"? Adults scare the crap out of us with all their talk but when we ask all they say is "You'll be fine." There's so much we have to worry about. Once upon a time it seemed like doors opened for us every which way, now it's like every step we take a door is closing. I hope it doesn't seem melodramatic but it seems really scary since we're graduating in a month or so!

How do you figure out what you want to do? If you don't know yet are you late in the game? What are the chances of failing?

I don't know what to do after high school.?

All right, this probably sounds like a broken record, but I don't know what to do. I'll give some info about my school stuff to help out any answers. I'm currently a junior, school year is gonna end soon. I have carried at the least a 3.8 through high school. On my ACT(first and only try so far) I got a 27. My main problem is nothing appeals to me. No careers, no plans for after high school, no colleges. The only people I can really ask are parents who honestly aren't much help, maybe some of my teachers. The school counselors are of no help, the only thing they do is jam ACT importantness and how you need college-stuff down our throats. I believe I've covered everything.

What should I do after I graduate High School?

Well, you have several options.

Is money as tight as you say it is (I understand you because that's my situation as well)? Then take a full time job during the summer and enroll in community college during the fall, and then see if you can take a part time job.

If you're interested in certain vocational technology careers (plumbing, masonry, carpentry, construction, electrician, welding etc.), then consider a technical school. Like cars? Consider becoming a car mechanic. You'd be surprised that these careers pay rather well.

If you don't think that going to college is your "thing," then maybe the military is. The military could advance a career far more than college, and the G.I. Bill is always there if you decide to go to college afterwards.

I am a firm believer that college is not the only option. Don't think you're a failure because of your academics in high school. Your grammar and spelling on Yahoo! Answers is better than others I've seen here ;)

What do you want to study after high school?

I already have a plan sort of laid out for me.I am in the International Baccalaureate program (IB) and my class choices essentially mean that my Associate’s Degree will be halfway done by the time I enter a community college. As for what I want to study, possibly Business Administration or something else related to economics or managing something. This isn’t actually what I want to do, but its going to (hopefully) guarantee me a better chance of getting a job than the five bazillion engineers and doctors that everyone around me is going to be.But what I really want to get is my Juris Doctorate. I really want to become a lawyer as I feel it just fits me!But Little Lion, wouldn’t you have to study Political Science or something related to law in your Bachelor’s degree to enter Law School? - Habib Fanny.Well technically, all I need is a Bachelor’s Degree in…pretty much anything. In fact, some of the more successful aspiring lawyers studied mathematics or science in their four years of university. And me having a background in business is going to help me stand out from the five thousand kids who studied political science. But that’s university. There are other things I want to “study” just for the sake of it.I want to actually master a martial art. Not leave just before I received a black belt (Taekwondo) or chickened out of because I was a kid (Karate). I want to master a martial art, whether it be a Historical European Martial Art or Judo, I haven’t decided.I also want to study more works of literature so that I can finally get off my lazy ass and start writing the ten or so “novels” I have floating in my head.Last thing I want to study is how to make a sword.Because what is more awesome than smithing your own sword?

How do I figure out what I want to do after high school?

I was lost in figuring out what I wanted to do. But I knew for a fact I never wanted to work for somebody else, and I was on the computer pretty much my entire life. I am going to give you pretty decent advice. If you have a smart phone you can see that attention is now the new way to becoming successful. The more attention you get (whether that is from posts, social media, websites, etc) the more opportunities you have to monetize off your traffic. When you have a lot of people's attention, and you create a product, you’re likely to make a sale. With that being said it's pretty hard to get traffic quickly, but if you've heard of Amazon FBA you can sell products on there website and basically steal their traffic for your own benefit. This is my main source of income, its online and for the amount of effort I put in, it's pretty easy. (nothing is get rich quick, it does require work) but in terms of every way to make money online, this is probably the fastest and easiest to generate full time income in my opinion. To brief it to you without overwhelming you with information, what I do is source products from china in bulk (DIRT CHEAP) lets say I buy 200 units for the price of $1, and I send it to Amazon's fulfillment centers and I list those products for $15, I make a $10 Profit Per Unit I sell. I have a lot of days where I make $150 a day, I sometimes wake up in the morning with 50$ profit, etc. This is by far right now the best trend, I've searched a lot of different ways of making money, while most of them are bullshit, cash apps, etc. Affiliate Marketing works, but like I said before, you need traffic and that's rough to get for an average person. The most underrated thing and the BEST part is that hard earned traffic is given to you for FREE, people already know about Amazon, but people don't know about your website/blog/etc. I figured out easier ways to get more exposure with my product. You can rank your product on page 1 pretty easy and doing so will make your product viewed by hundreds of thousands of purchase ready customers. I am 20 years old and I'm pulling it off, im sure you can do this too. If your interested I show how to start an Amazon business, and what I personally do to grow it below. Amazon isn’t a gimmick, and it's not saturated. With that being said this takes work, so if your willing to work at this then this WILL replace full time income. Hopefully I helped
