What Should I Do For Sophomore Year

What should I expect in my sophomore year?

Depends on what your freshman year was like. If you thought it was overall a difficult year, then sophomore year will probably be easier. If you thought freshman year was easy, like I did, then sophomore year is gonna be hell.My sophomore year-Had to wait to get my permit for 3 months as a punishment, courtesy of my parents.Lost all direction in my life/ sense of self.Struggled in all my classes except English and JROTC.Lost all motivation to succeed.Intentionally distanced myself from all my friends and essentially isolated myself. Yeah, bad idea.Had ~5+ hours of homework and studying every night.Struggled with my mental health. A lot.Got my braces off after nearly 2.5 years.Dyed my hair pink (because my hair is the only thing I have control over in my life.)Met User, my friend and confidant.Became captain of a Mock Trial team and put hours of work into it, only to see it fall apart in the end.Disassociated for long periods of time, resulting in huge gaps in my memory.Shot a 242/300 on my JV rifle team and became the first person on the JV team to get the “Expert” badge.Got my permit, but now (also as punishment) I can't practice to get my license unless my parents are in a good mood.Discovered that my parents go through my room while I'm at school.Be came the first sophomore in my battalion to become a Sergeant First Class. There are other more private things, but I'd rather 6,600+ people not see them.

Should i do wrestling my sophomore year?

i'm a sophomore in high school... i'm 14 i'm pretty lean built, i'm 5'5, and i weigh 110pounds... i have no experience in wrestling.. like nothing. I want to try something new i'm just alittle nervous. it will be my first year so what should i expect? i know i'm probably going to lose alot of matches. i just want to know what should i do to get ready before the season.

Should I join JROTC in sophomore year?

You can do it any year (and at the beginning of each semester you can join.) There is no "girls'" drill team. It is Armed and Unarmed (you are probably thinking of unarmed.) The benefits are scholarships, Leadership experience (which colleges want), and getting to miss school for competitions. You DO NOT need to join the military after doing this program nor are you more likely to be drafted (not that it is likely that we will even have a draft.)

To Mr. Puma:
I don't think you are an old fart (although it is kinda funny.) I think that your age and experience in the military has made you wiser and obviously very helpful to this freshman

How do I make the most out of my sophomore year in highschool?

Get involved with your school! I was a very shy freshman before and in my sophomore year, I put myself out there. I joined many clubs, I got into the Student Council, National Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society. Go to a club that suits your interests and passions; you never know, you may meet some new friends!Get to know more people. Trust me, this will come in handy for your junior and senior year. You’ll find out who your true friends are. Don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation with your peers.Be nice to your teachers! They’ll be writing your recommendation forms for college applications. It never hurts to be nice.Study and do well in school. Colleges usually don’t pay much attention to freshman year, because they understand students’ transition into highschool. However, by sophomore year, you should have good grades and have improved from freshman year.Sophomore year was a blast and I miss my freshman & sophomore year loads. It isn’t fun to be a rising senior. Enjoy it while it lasts!

What should I do my sophomore year that will help me apply for the Naval Academy?

All of the answers are correct. Take hard classes - especially physics and calculus. As a Sophomore you need to take classes that will set you up for those classes as a junior or senior. Seek excellence in something. It doesn't matter if it's band, sports or scouting. Also, I need to commend you for planning ahead as a Sophomore. That is an excellent indicator of future success either at USNA or elsewhere. Good luck!

What should I expect in my sophomore year in high school?

I'm a sophomore in high school right now- here's my experience!!-First AP classes! I took my first AP class this year and it's stressful but manageable- be ready!!-Judging the new freshmen "Oh my god, the new freshmen are so annoying wtf"-Driver's Ed & Permits! In my state, you can take Driver's Ed at 14 1/2 and get your permit at 15-SAT and ACT! Sophomore year is the time to start preparing for these tests!-More juuling and drinking! More kids start doing this stuff and don't gaf-Juniors and seniors don't seem as scary anymore and it's not weird anymore to date a senior!-Teachers start telling you to think about and prepare for college ugh! Each high school is different and each experience will be unique but this is what my personal experience has been like so far! Sophomore year is harder than freshmen year but it can also be really fun and bring new people and things into your life!!
