What Should I Sing At My 7th Grade Talent Show

Singing in the 7th grade talent show?

I am going to enter the 7th talent show and sing. All my friends and family say I'm good and they mean it. I can't hit too low notes, but I can hit pretty high notes. I need a song sung by a girl that would really show my talent. Also one that is easy to memorize. And no disney channel or high school musical stuff. thanks

What song should I sing for my school talent show?

Who is going to do the judging? You would be best to choose a song that is going to be recognizable as a good song by the judges and the audience which means one that has stood the test of time and liked by a wide range of people. One of the mistakes talent quest entrants make is to choose a song that they themselves like but without realizing that some songs are not easy to cover, either because of the vocal range or the tone set by the band in the recording which can’t be replicated, and to top it off a lot of people may dislike the song and you are not going to win them over.Winners of talent quests start by choosing the right song and in doing so know their own voice and what kind of song would suit it. This is what wins points with the judges. You have to realize also that songs which make good covers for talent shows are not easy to find. You will have to spend considerable time thinking about each possibility.

What are some good songs for kids to sing at a talent show?

Anything Disney is always good! That’s something everyone knows and loves. Also, there’s “I Know Things Now” from Into the Woods, Any songs that Annie sings in “Annie,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade” if the kid is a belter, there are some good songs from “Newsies” if the kid wants a ballad or for a group number.I hate when kids sing pop songs in talent shows because the pop songs to choose from these days are not very good as far as subject matter, language, etc.www.AThousandSpotlightsExperience.com

What song should I sing in my high school talent show?

You are not telling us your vocal range and customary genre. You are not telling us anything about the kind of contest. Is it anything goes?If you are a bass, there are not many lead singer popular songs to choose from. There are a lot of bass rappers. And, many of their lines are fairly sophisticated. So, there will be a lot of work.A bass might pick something like, “Memories” from Cats. But, are you a tenor? Or, a baritone.Country music favors the baritone singers. Sam Hunt is very popular right now. “Take Your Time” is a big hit. But, you have to master a talking verse, which is as tricky as rapping. But, then you might consider Drake, “Cell Phone” in baritone range. If you do high tenor stuff, you might look to Bruno Mars. “When I was Your Man” is definitely a solo song. But, take note that Bruno Mars can master a high range without going into falsetto.Adam Levine uses falsetto well. I am fond of “My Heart’s a Stereo”. This is a two voice piece, but could be done by one singer. (In this song, when you cover it, “Gym Class Hero’s,Baby” gets turned into something like “M-Y High Hero’s, Baby” or similar - you get my drift. But, these are just ideas. From your name, I can’t tell if you are Russian or Mexican or American. There are so many good songs in those realms. Much depends on your skill level as to what you pick as well. But, most importantly, you should pick something your audience likes and perhaps judges like. The point of singing in front of everyone is to give them the stuff that makes them feel the point of pain or pleasure they want to feel. You might do better to ask your fellow students what they like. Then, pick according to what you can deliver. You might try to find out what makes the judges happy. So, if you have a screaming audience and satisfied judges, the judges might have to go along with the audience.

Which Panic! At the Disco song should i sing for the talent show?

My talent show in about a little less than a year but I'm planning early! I'm pretty obsessed with the band Panic! at the Disco and I want to sing one their songs. Which one should I sing? I'm pretty in love with all of them but my school is very strict and can't have anything even a tiny bit in appropriate (such as things about sex, swear words, bad references, etc.)
All of the songs I want to sing either
have swear words (like I Write Sins Not Tragedies)
are about sex (Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off and Nine in the Afternoon)
have the word "she" in it or some Reference about a girl. That'd be awkward because I'm a girl. (like Nine in the Afternoon & Sarah Smiles)
What songs do you think I should sing? Oh and also, if you have no idea who and what I'm talking about, go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuV1zXXF9zg&feature=relmfu and experience Brendon and Spencer's amazing-ness; no seriously they are super talented.
