What Things Do I Need To Make My Foundation Flawless And Steps

Best foundation for oily, acne prone, skin?

I want to use M.A.C., or Benefit or something like that. I have really oily, acne prone skin and it needs to make my face look flawless, natural, matte, smooth and not cakey. And it also needs to be sweat proof and not slide off my face in this hot summer weather, so if you have tried M.A.C or Benefit please let me know what's worked well for you, THANKS!! ♥
p.s. I've asked this queston a lot, but I really want to find one that's going to work well with my skin

Tip on getting a flawless foundation application?

before applying any kind of makeup, make sure your face is freshly washed.

i HIGHLY recommend Avon's MagiX Face Perfector for youre moisturizer or foundation. it makes your face look flawless without even wearing makeup (it actually visibly reduces pore size); however it can also be worn under makeup.

im not a big fan of foundation myself, because i feel like it takes forever to put on and it never looks right even if you have the "perfect" shade. my suggestion is to try a pressed powder or some kind of mineral wear- because they wont ever look cakey, take a much shorter time to apply, and are better for your skin.

as for brands, i love physicians formula. they have amazing pressed powders that blend really. also, they sell a mineral matte finishing veil that makes makeup look flawless (can be worn alone, or over makeup)

My foundation makes me look dead?

If you have a problem with acne or acne scarring, you're likely interested in ways to cover these imperfections. Everyone experiences acne from time to time. Acne or blemishes generally disappear within a few days without leaving a scar. However, some people have sensitive skin, in which the smallest bump can leave a scar or dark spot. Fortunately, there are ways to cover acne scars and hide unsightly marks.

Things You'll Need:
•Facial cleanser
•Facial moisturizer
•Concealer
•Foundation
•Loose powder

•Step 1
Look for oil-free products. Several products are available to cover acne scars. If you're prone to acne, choose oil-free facial cleansers, moisturizers and makeup. Oil-based skin-care products can clog pores and cause additional breakouts. Additionally, look for hypoallergenic skin care products. These reduce the frequency of breakouts.

•Step 2
Before applying skin-care products to cover acne scars, thoroughly wash your face with a mild facial cleanser and apply an astringent. Afterward, apply a facial moisturizer to hydrate the skin.

•Step 3
Select a concealer to cover scars and dark spots. Concealer is a type of makeup that is used to mask a variety of imperfections, such as acne scars, pimples, dark circles and uneven skin tone. Choose a concealer that's one or two shades lighter than your complexion. Using your finger or a makeup sponge, blend the concealer into the skin until the scar or dark spot matches your skin tone.

•Step 4
Apply foundation to the face. Often, concealer adequately covers acne scars, and foundation isn't necessary. However, if the concealer doesn't blend perfectly into the skin, apply foundation to the affected areas or over the entire face. Foundation evens skin tone and makes the skin appear flawless.

•Step 5
Use loose power to set the foundation. After applying foundation, lightly brush the face with powder. The foundation will last longer, and loose powder can absorb excess oil and give the face a smooth finish.

No matter what I do my foundation looks like a gross masked?

I know what you mean. Sometimes, if you have nice skin, foundation isn't meant for it. But if you are certain that you want to wear foundation then try and pick a suitable colour. I'm pretty sure you can get tested for the shade of your skin tone at boots (if you live in the UK that is, if not then I'm sure you can still yet tested elsewhere). Have you tried BB cream? Apparently it's meant to be fresher an more natrual looking than foundation! I've never tried it, because my current foundation is pretty good (I used perfect match my L'Oreal but am now switching to colorstay by revlon for a change, both are very good products) also, you could be applying your foundation too heavily or simply with the wrong brush. If you find it easier to blend with your fingers, do so but blend blend blend! try a foundation brush as well. Stippling brushes are meant to be the best kind of brushes for foundation as they don't leave streaks and leave your face looking airbrushed and flawless. Sorry if I rambled lol. Hope I helped!x

What is the difference between foundation and concealer?

A lot of confusion prevails, in makeup classes among beginers, regarding the difference between Foundation and Concealer. Although these 2 products sound quite similar yet each one of them satiate a different need. Before starting off with the difference, let me preface a word or two about makeup base. Makeup base is an art of perfecting and preparing your skin for makeup. It provides an even clean surface, which is free of blemishes, imperfections and wrinkles.Foundation:Foundation is the second makeup step after primer. Some people also prefer to swap the order of these two steps (concealer and foundation) but in general it all depends on the way you like to create your makeup base. Either of the steps would work great as long as you are satisfied and comfortable with your makeup look. Foundation is a skin colored cosmetic. Its main job is to create an even skin tone, to hide flaws and to change the natural skin color. Depending upon skin type and complexion you can go for the most suitable foundation.Concealer:Ideally, concealer comes in as third makeup base step. But if you are skipping any of the above steps or even both steps then its position shifts up in that chronological order. There is no point of applying concealer if you’re just going to blend it all away by putting foundation or primer on top. So remember, concealer is the last step of makeup base. Concealer’s main function is to hide stubborn/deep scars that require last minute touch ups. Unlike foundation, concealer is not applied on entire face but just on the areas that require touch ups.
