What To Do With Mouse

Pet mouse dead - what to do?

It's okay to bury her.

If the room is cool at times or the temperature changes from warm to cold at night, a single mouse can die without warm bedding and a source of warmth.

Mice need fresh clean water, some water drippers don't work reliably, the can be plenty of water in the bottle and none in the stainless steel tube.

If the mouse is in a cage and there is a flow of air passing through the room the mouse will get too cold.

Next time if you buy doe mice get three, they do much better with company. I have 12 mice, seven of them are wild, it's like keeping a zoo.

Join a good mouse group and read the posts, ask questions, describe your mouse and how she was, the group will help work out what went wrong.

What to do with mouse?

Caught a mouse with a traditional trap, but the trap caught it's legs, so it is still alive. I want to know the best, most humane way of ending the mouse' life. And I don't want to hear from nut bag people telling me that I am despicable for using the trap. I hate killing these cute little things, but they carry disease and they don't pay 1750 for a studio apartment.

What should I do with old computer mouse?

use the mouse as a pair of position encoders for your robot - desolder the photo-interruptors from the board, run wires to them back to the board. mount the discs on say the motor shafts, and photo-interruptors in same relative positions. mouse buttons could be modified to be touch sensors, mechanically. on the software side, if it’s an USB type, then it will still look like a mouse to your processor.you may be able to find old mechanical mice [yes, those with balls in them] in op-shops, really cheaply.snap them up and have fun turning them into micro-mouse robots for maze-running - some arduino boards are now q small enough to fit inside. :-)

How do I bury a mouse? What should I do with a dead mouse on the street that is in front of my house?

What to do With a Dead Rat or MouseDead mice and rats are nothing to be afraid of and despite being a clear and present disease and parasite risk, are easy to get rid of.First think about where you might put the rodent. Placing it in your bin sounds like a super idea, but this will make your trash stink of death, encourage flies and result in a nasty bin covered in maggots. Nice! Most domestic residents will place the rodent into a strong plastic bag and place it in a public rubbish bin. These often get emptied more regularly than the residential or personal bins, unless your bins are getting emptied in the next 48 hours? So long as you don’t directly touch the rodent you should be quite safe. Just indulge in some extra special hand washing afterwards and spray disinfectant on the spot where the rodent was found, for good measure. As a professional we need to do things more formally, but non-commercial households can do things their own way, unless local regulations say otherwise.Simon Berenyi - The Bristol Rat Company - Bristol Rat Control

My mouse had babies, and I don't know what to do!?

This happened to me to
Don't interrupt the mom or the babies, just make sure the mom gets fresh food everyday, give her some boiled eggs as well.

Keep an eye on both the females, in my case the other female would help the mother with her babies, babysitting them is you want, when the mom needed to eat and rest a little. But if you see the other female harassing the mom or the babies, then you should take her out.

You don't have to do much, they will work this out themselves.

As she just has a litter of 4 babies, which is not much, she will most likely not get stressed out.

Just keep the cage in a place with no draft, and a stable Temperature, not too cold, and not too warm as they can overheat.

The babies will grow quickly, after 2-3 weeks they will be up and jumping around---when they start jumping it is totally normal, it's what we call the popcorn phase.

So after the babies are up and running, you can change the bedding, but leave the stuff where the mom made her nest.

You can put in a sock, or piece of cloth, or paper and the mom will pick out what she needs to add to her nest if she feels that she needs anything.

Remember to separate the babies before 6 weeks, because that's when the baby boys will actually be able to reproduce.

They are ready to leave the mom and get new homes when they are 4 weeks old.

Best of luck!

My pet mouse is pregnant and i dont no what to do?

I had two pet mice that were girls. Then one of them died. I felt bad for Lillian my living mouse so we went to get her two new buddies from pet smart (about 3 weeks ago). Today i was looking at Lillian and i realised that she looked really fat, because she usually is the right size and very active. Then i relized that she hasent been on her wheel much it was just eat and sleep. Then i looked at one of my other mice Bee and she looked really fat too but not as fat as Lillian. Then i looked at Tibet the last mouse and relised that he was perfectly fine. I think that Lillian and Bee might be pregnant and could have there babies any day.
Should i get more cages? How many mice are in a litter?
What should i do?

Please Help.

What do I do if I don't want my pet mouse anymore?

You dont get the mouse to start with.
Find a different project to do; preferably something without a living creature.

Disgusting behaviour.... getting an animal just for a couple of weeks.
If you cant commit to caring for an animal for its WHOLE life, then very simply do not get one.
My gosh

I Defrosted a mouse and my snake didn't eat.?

Actually, snakes really shouldn't go weeks and weeks without eating. While they CAN it's very unhealthy for them to do that, and then to eat a lot. (Sorry kristy, I get what you're saying now, and you are right in that matter)

The freezing times sound right, but you should try to feed him again tomorrow. If for some reason he doesn't eat again, maybe wait two days then try again.

I have one question though. Is he about to shed? Right before snakes shed, they won't eat. So, in the case that he is, don't bother to try to feed him again, because he won't eat until after he sheds.

One more thing is that if he goes more than a week without eating you may want to call a vet just to see what he says, and if he thinks you need to being him in.

-Edit-

I just thought of this since you said he was a ball python. I don't know if the mouse was just room temperature when you tried feedinghim, but try to heat him up a little past that. Pythons have heat sensing slits around their mouth, and that could get him more interested. Also, try shaking him around with a stick or such to give the illusion the mouse is alive.

I don't recommend using your hand, as the fact that your hand will be giving off more heat than the mouse and your snake might accidentally mistake your hand for his meal.

One more thing, is that your snake may be tired of mice. Just like humans snakes can get tired of eating the same thing every day. You could always try getting some little chicks, guinne pigs, hamsters, or something like that, and see if that gets him interested in eating again.

What should I do- I found a mouse with a broken leg.?

Well you have a couple of choices. 1)You can take care of it. In captivity it should be just fine and live out it's life. 2)You could let it go. It will surely die or be eaten. Mice depend on their speed as a defense. 3)You could take it to a vet and have it humanely euthanized. 4)You could let him heal and release him. Probably not the best solution, after being dependent on you. The choice is really up to you. What would you want if you were in his situation?
