What Was The Last Thing You Learned

Whats the last thing you learned?

I learned to never look in your brothers bedside table O_O....Lets say i was looking for my ipod and opened it.....yeah guess what was inside it -_-
Whats the last you you learned not to do?

What is the last thing you learned?

That last skill I’ve recently learned is an effect called the ‘Professor's Nightmare’ which is a classic magic rope effect in which the magician shows three ropes of unequal length. There's a long rope, a medium-length rope and a short rope. The ropes may be handed out for examination by spectators. Upon the return to the magician, they place each rope into their hand holding both ends of each rope. Then the magician grabs the ends of the ropes in both hands and pulls, and the three different-length ropes turn into three ropes of equal length. At this point, the magician may return the ropes to their prior state after knotting each piece to the other to finally reveal at the end a long, medium and short piece rope.Once the ropes are returned to their long, medium and short states, the spectators may once again examine each of them. Here’s Tom Ogden's version of this effect.

What were the best things you learned in your last job?

A job must be reasonably interesting and challenging, and preferably at least sometimes enjoyable. The one before this is the shortest stint I have done - 6 months at a prominent financial company doing repetitive quarterly tasks instead of the purported document management and Cognos Cubes.  I couldn't remember the tasks for the quarters I was there because the tasks were rotated.  How on earth do you remember what boring things to do when you only do them once every 6 months?  Ridiculous.  So glad I left that job.  One of few bolder moves I have made in my lifetime.

What was the last thing you learned that blew you away?

That there either ARE Shoemaker’s Elves OR That the claims about the 6 Cylinder power house in a 1990 Jeep Cherokee are True! Damned thing actually seems to have repaired itself! After belching and farting and stumbling and loping for YEARS while I looked on line for every possible cause to try to narrow down what needs adjusted or replaced - I parked it in the driveway at 3:55PM this past Friday, December 8, 2018 and left it there UNTOUCHED until that following Monday Morning at 6:30AM on December 10, 2018. She started as usual, but this was the FIRST Time I was able to drive up hill and NOT Drop to First for 22MPH by the time she made it! Not only did she take hills again, she actually kept up with traffic and road conditions! Made it the 11 point 2 miles to school IN A RECORD 14 Minutes! NOT A FIT, FIDGET OR SNEEZE OUT OF HER!FOUR YEARS She’s been acting like a WW1 tank - boomin and poppin and lurchin all over the place.Last week I’d had enough because I failed again to find ANYTHING On Line that fits the symptoms AND is in any agreement with at least three other folks reporting any recommended ‘fix’ ‘fixed’ anything. So as I’m driving by the local mechanic that day, his yard was empty so I swung in and made an appointment for this past Wednesday the 12th.I wonder, now if this Jeep is Possessed by the spirit of a kid that died after going to a doctor?!

Do you Like to Learn New Things?

I learned a damn good lesson the hard way, to day, and I'm trying to feel just fine about it.

I learned that at 73 and thinking I have been so wise, that it was time to cut the apron strings with my son.

I learned that I have been enabling him to depend on me his mom, way too much.

I learned that I have to take the blame for trying to keep him a mamma's boy.

I write this as I'm shedding tears, because I know my husband is thinking to him self. . . I could have/should have told you so a long time ago.

Sometimes we see the light just too damn late to pick up the pieces.

Sorry to dump on you, but I just needed to get it written down in black and white.

Yes Wick, to answer your question I'm a very curious person and have a need to know and learn about things and then toss around what I have learned in conversation with my husband.

I also like to hand out bits of things I learn to my kids and grand kids.

Been having fun, being able to get them together out on the porch and see Jupiter these nice summer evenings.

You know when I answer a question I always seem to tell you more that you really wanted to know.
Thanks, I feel better and if you haven't heard about Jupiter, go out and you will see it just as the moon is coming up.
DeeJay.

What is the best thing you learned this week?

The Power of Tracking.Since January, my officemate and I started to bullet journal. I decided to copy her format and included a Monthly Tracker. My Monthly Tracker is different from hers. I put the only important matters for me, such as:Did I write my morning pages?Did I write what I did well, what I didn’t do well, and how I created them?Did I sleep before 10pm, or after 10 pm?Did I drink soda or coffee?Did I have a migraine attack?Did I work on my thesis? On that single sheet of paper, I wrote what mattered and before I retired, I would fill put an “X” on the ticker box.As of the 21st of February, I realized a couple of things:I wrote 17 entries of my morning pages.I wrote 13 entries for my what went well/what didn’t go wellI snoozed after the alarm rang 15 out of 21 daysI drank coffee for 9 daysI had 4 migraine attacks within this month.I performed 11 days bodyweight squats before bedtime.Seeing what I tracked opened my eyes. There were items which I thought were important, but I really didn’t do at all (sketching).and because I tracked my activities, I found opportunities to know what aspects of my life to improve (such as sleeping earlier and not snoozing after my alarm rang).
