Connecting my hd dvr to the internet. I have Directv and a hr24-500 reciever/dvr.?
I cant find any simple answere's to my questions trying to get internet to my reciever. I have the following equipment a simple wireless router, a cable modem, a reciever with a built in DECA (whatever that is). and a lap top. I would like the on demand bennifits + and pc interactive fun stuff. i tried hooking it up but it didnt work. dont know what a deca is or what it does, how to link my pc (if i have to) do i need the modem at the reciever? well, the list goes on. Could use all the help i can get, thanks.
How to connect my Directv HD DVR to the internet?
I have a HD DVR HR24/100 and I also have a Broadband Deca Model DECABB1MR0-01, plus a 2wire router for my att internet. I connect my deca router to my DVR with the ethernet cable, I have a power light on, and C link light blinking on the rounter. In my DVR I have a yellow light blink on thr right side where I conect the ethernet cable. When I go on Network setup, and click get connected, it show my ip and everything, but in the end it comes with an error, saying it could not connect to the internet, I have tried the red button, but I still get the same error, can someone please help me!!! Just a general tip that may help you out here. When the Internet goes down, the most common cure is to re-start the router. This can be done by unplugging it - wait for a moment - then plug it back in again. At this point, check the setup of each connection. For wired Ethernet, there is little to do, however for WiFi - you need to check the setup for each item that is not connected is it should be. Enter into the device setup menu, go to the Internet setup menu, then check the status... resetting it as need be. Good luck.
Is directv internet good for xbox live?
simple answer: no expanded: directv internet is satelite. and if it is the only thing available besides dialup, it will have to do. the ping is higher than dsl/cable or fios, and the download speeds are less for more money. so if you can get cable or are really close to dsl CO or even fios i'd suggest that. imo satelite and being nearly out of range for dsl are about the same.

There are several good answers already.As far as I know, no DirecTV receivers have a built-in Netflix Application so you need another device, like a Smart TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, or some other multimedia network device like a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One. Many Blu-Ray and DVD players also have built in Netflix apps. When you want to watch Netflix, you change your source to this other device from your DirecTV receiver to watch Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or other streaming video services. How do you reset the DirecTv receiver?
There are 3 ways that a DirecTV receiver can be reset, or " rebooted".1. Every current model has a red reset button. The hr34 and hr44 genie models have it inside the access card door, which is spring loaded. Just press the panel and it should pop open , then press the button to begin the reboot process, which may take up to 6 minutes. The hr54 genie which is the most current model, has the red reset button located on the right hand side as you face the receiver, by the access card slot.. The h44 genie lite and all client models have the reset button on the outside right hand side too.2. Pull the power cord from the back, wait ten seconds , then plug it back in. We technicians call that a " hard reset", and it aso reboots the receiver.3. Press and hold down the blue DirecTV power button in the front of your receiver.Hold it for twenty seconds. This is going to restore your receiver to factory settings, so don't try this unless you don't mind losing any customized things like your playlist, favorites, screen preference, parental locks, etc.I hope this helps !
