When Is It Time To Replace Spark Plugs On A Lexus Is250 2008

What are some things to replace when a car hesitates at low rpms?

First off figure out and diagnose why its doing that, or else you wont have a clue what it is or else youre going to just be throwing parts at it and money down the drain by just simply guessing. From my experience its not one cut and dry answer It could be lots of things. Most likely if it has a carburetor the carburetor needs an adjustment, or spark plugs are old and worn out, air filter is possibly worn out and clogged with debris so its restricting the airflow. Oxygen sensor is a possibility. Or it could be a fuel filter/injector clogged/ fuel pump blocking proper fuel flow. The catalytic converter or exhaust could be clogged up with carbon deposits, but i doubt that. Lastly if its really high mileage like 200,000–400,000 miles and it could just simply be old and worn out and the piston rings arent sealing very well, so its low on compression which will make most engines low on power but thats pretty unlikely especially if youve taken good care of it, done oil changes on time and its maintained. All these items are consumables, they are regular car maintenance repairs. Its amazing how much better a car will run when you replace all those things and wear out over time. Take it to a reputable ase certified mechanic or if the car is under warranty go to the dealer. Or if you got a buddy thats good with cars take it to him. The good news is its usually something simple, and all those things arent hard to fix unless its the fuel filter/fuel pump. tell me how it goes. Good luck dude!

I changed the spark plugs, Why is my engine light blinking now?

On most cars I’ve driven, a flashing check engine light means something is very seriously wrong. That means don’t drive the car till you’ve fixed it.An OBD2 scanner is pretty much a necessity for working on modern cars. They don’t even cost that much anymore. Plug it into your OBD port, and it’ll most likely tell you what’s happening to make the check engine light flash. Look up the code and error message on google or youtube, and you can most likely find a description of how to fix it.If it says something vague, and then think about what you did and what the problems might be. If changing the plugs was ALL you did, there are a few things that come to mind as the first things I’d check. Think about what you touched, and what those parts do for the engine. The plugs, wires and coil are all things you might have disturbed or miss-installed, and they all have to do with ignition. My thought is that you might have one or more misfiring cylinders. An engine will continue to run, although poorly, with a surprisingly large fraction of its cylinders failing to fire, but the computer that controls it will see this as a pretty serious problem, and either detect the misfires directly, detect the extra oxygen in the exhaust, or both. Are all your spark plug wires back in place and making good contact with the terminals, both at the plug end and the coil end?If you have ‘coil over’ plugs, are the connectors to the individual coils tight?Did you check gap on all your plugs before you put them in? If the gap is too small or too large, the plug can fail to spark or spark so weakly it doesn’t ignite the gas.Did you tighten all your plugs to the proper torque? A loose plug can result in a misfire due to lack of compression.Did all the plugs have their crush washers, or was one missing?Did you reinstall all the plug wires to the correct plugs, or are some of your cylinders firing out of sequence? Are all your spark plug wires in good condition, or were some damaged during your work? It doesn’t take much damage to high voltage wiring before sparks come out at the wrong places. Is the coil in good condition? Is it dry? If you had the hood open in the rain, a wet coil can malfunction, as rainwater is quite conductive at high voltage. The plastic shell on an old coil can get brittle, and working with it can crack the insulation. Oily gunk on the coil can bake into a carbon layer that’s conductive and short out the coil too.

When is it time to replace spark plugs on a Lexus is250 2008?

I got a Lexus is250 in February and it has 66,800 miles. I don't think the spark plugs were changed. I just know it got an oil change and thats it. I just replaced the cabin air filter and I'm going to replace the air filter on the next oil change. I don't know about the spark plugs though. I basicaly am doing the 60k maintnence myself little by little and i want to know if its time to change the spark plugs or not. I have seen on some club lexus forums that you don't even need to replace them until 90-100k miles is that true? Should i swap them out at 90k or do it now? Same with the break fluid should i wait until 90k to do both or just do them both now?

What maintenance to perform at 110k miles Lexus IS250 2006.?

That's a hell of a nice friend. Even assuming a manual transmission and basically no options at all, that car is worth at least $13K dollars. He would have had no problem getting $10K - $11K in cash (easy) wholesale to a dealer or CarMax, on the spot. Your friend gave you a $10,000 present.

The highlights of the maintenance you need includes the timing belt, drive belts, spark plugs, PCV filter and transmission fluid, in addition to the regular oil/filter changes and checks. Things like pads, rotors, struts, shocks, I'd stick with "as needed" on those, replacing them when you start to notice they are going bad (and you'll notice).

But the short answer - open up your glove box and read the owner's manual. Service maintenance intervals are in there.

110K miles for a 2006 Lexus isn't particularly high mileage. In order to keep your car valuable and running a long time, I'd recommend taking it to the dealer and getting the recommended service done. It won't be cheap, but it's worth the investment. You don't have a $3K car......you have a $13K car (at least), for which you paid $3K.

ADDED: Download an Owner's Manual here: http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instru... If you'd rather have a hard copy, you can usually pick one up on E-Bay fairly reasonably.

Need advice. 2008 lexus is250... 60,000 miles maintenance...?

car already 3+ years old, never do ur maintainence at the dealers, dealers are a rip and they love to make money from new car buyers, because if u don't do ur maintenance there u don't get warrenty. and if they check ur car is not 100% they will ask u to do certain repair which cost A LOT, if u refuse/reject their request to do the repair at their place paying their price, u don't get warrnty. but think this way, if u pay them to do the repair they tell u that is needed, there is no way a car can break down during the warranty period.

so just go to different mechanic shop around for cheaper deals, and use aftermarket parts, u only need to use geniune parts for parts that are really important such as engine seals and other internal parts, other than that u don't need to spend so much

How many miles can a Lexus last?

I've known Lexus' (Lexi?) that have lasted 300,000 miles and more when properly maintained. Eventhough it may say change the oil every 6 - 7,000 miles, I'd change it every 3 cause the car is older and sludge is more likely to build up. If you keep the oil clean and changed don't drive it like you stole it (thanks from the answerer above - thats funny!) you should get plenty out of that car - you may even want to drive it more than 5 years.

Question for Lexus owners...?

I am looking at an 2007 ES350 and 2007 IS250. Has anyone one had a lexus more than 50,000 miles? I am wandering about the costs of maintaining the vehicle after the warranty is up. Right now i own a Audi A4 with 96,000 miles and it is getting pretty expensive. in your opinion, Is a lexus more or less to maintain than an Audi or about the same?
